FEMI FANI-KAYODE, THE PEARLED SWINE It’s a Sunday afternoon; most Christian folks are relaxing at home after a meal of sumptuous rice with fish or meat and some diced plantains while reminiscing on the word of God they must have heard in church, key of which is the command to love thy neighbour as thyself, and then boom! Twitter is aflame. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has just tweeted at the Vice President using his moniker @realFFK: "@MBuhari is gracious enough to allow us to have Christian worship behind his kitchen"- @ProfOsinbajo. Slave-man talking! This man has lost all sense of shame & he does not have any self-respect or dignity left. Christians worship behind Buhari's kitchen & we should be grateful ![]() I would like to draw everyone’s attention to the Twitter bio of this once high and mighty Nigerian; Lawyer, Columnist, Historian, Poet, Old Harrovian, Alumni of London and Cambridge, fmr. Spokesman to Pres. Obasanjo, fmr. Minister of Culture, fmr. Minister of Aviation. I think the only things he left out are that he’s also a renowned misogynist who regularly beats up his wives (probably why he’s married more than a couple), and an abuser of psychotropic substances with multiple visits to the rehab home in the not too distant past. This is probably why he likes to try and drag others down, hoping they would descend to play in the mud with him. Asides all these, one of greater importance is the fact that Uncle Femi did spend time in theology school, in addition to all the other highly reputable schools he’s so quick to flaunt in our faces, as such one would expect that he would have an understanding of the word of God and would desist from unnecessarily engaging in squabbles and bickering on the Sabbath of all days. Anyways, I’m sure quite a few would be surprised at his juvenile action. It is often said that while passing through a school, we must let the school pass through us. Alas, the famed pride that runs in the Fani-Kayode family must have ensured that Nigeria is forced to bear with the uncouth, uncultured person that has permeated our political sphere simply because of ancient patriarchal ties and the oligarchy that is practiced by the ruling elite. Twitter being a land of ‘Gbas Gbos’ however made sure Uncle Femi was rocked by a couple of shots to the solar plexus, the first of which came from Gbemileke Olaniyan (@GbemilekeOlani3) who asked the self acclaimed historian; AND CHAPEL WAS BUILT DURING APC'S REIGN RIGHT? WHY CAN'T YOU BE SILENT FOR ONCE? TracyChels (@ChelsTracy) also wondered if all the screws were still fixed on straight; WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO TO THIS GUY NOW? HE'S A CLOWN. FOR SOMEONE WHO CLAIMS TO UNDERSTAND ENGLISH, HE IS A DISGRACE. ALLOW HIM CONTINUE IN HIS FOLLY. The real knockout blow though came from medoosa (@medoosa_) who objectively opined that; YOU ARE ONE OF THE REASONS SOCIAL MEDIA SHOULD BE REGULATED. ONE WOULD THINK AT YOUR AGE AND FORMER STATUS YOU WOULDN’T BE FOUND BEHIND SUCH MALICIOUS OUTBURSTS BUT IT’S UNFORTUNATE. The account holder not long afterwards claimed to have been blocked forthwith by the former Minister. If one would but look critically at the responses above, a 12th grader should have no difficulty understanding that whatever view the President can see while looking out from the kitchen of his presidential apartment is not the fault of neither the number one or two citizen as the Aso Villa edifices were built long before they came into office on the 29th of May, 2015. As for Fani’s contribution to the promotion of the hate speech bill, his articles in time past are all over the internet, it is quite easy to see he’s a tribal and religious bigot who often engages in spreading messages that do not encourage tolerance across either of those lines. He has zero respect for diversity in humanity, and yet wants to flaunt the prestigious UK education at every turn, even though we can clearly see it was all wasted on the character he has become at his old age. Persons like FFK need to permanently be left moribund on the refuse heap of failed Nigerian leaders, especially those who tried to sell the hoax of youth as they have shown that they only have their selfish interests at heart, well that’s after he’s been made to account for and return the 4.9b Naira that the EFCC are currently arraigning him for in court. RE: LAOLU AKANDE: THE SUPPLANTER COMES FULL THROTTLE. "A REJOINDER" by Bright Okuta. Over the years, especially as a young graduate, I personally do not engage in petite issues of politicians and/or journalists who have sold their integrity, usually due to selfish interests and animosity emanating from the successes of their colleagues. In response to the twaddle written by Festus, I find it uneasy to digest all the garbage he spewed at someone whose reputation has in no way been tainted in Nigeria and outside. Well, this rejoinder isn’t about pouring encomiums on Mr. Olaolu Akande but about correcting the mollusk of a letter Festus Adedayo wrote about him. It will interest the public to know that without aiming darts and firing all sorts of broadsides at notable Nigerians, particularly the political elites since the beginning of his career as a columnist, Festus has no other job. With over 20years of experience in journalism, one would wonder if there isn’t anything more to do other than lying blatantly against people that are far ahead of him in achievement. In the first diatribe he wrote (targeting the VP), he likened the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to a character in Soyinka's "The Trials of Brother Jero". This is the highest form self-ridicule someone like Adedayo could ever thinking of doing, aiming at someone whose grace cannot be matched by his spiteful soul. I'll choose to believe under whatever guise, that the reason for his wild outcry and job of peddling all sorts of malicious and outright fib against the Vice President and his Media aide can be surreptitiously traced to his frustration, inactivity and bitterness over the success of story of the Vice President, Mr. Akande and the acrimony of humiliation he got after well meaning Nigerians called for his sack due to his anti-government activities prior to the elections. Let it be known that Mr. Laolu Akande was in no way the cause of his imbroglio. He is hereby adviced to face the reality surrounding him. Without much ado, let it be known that Mr. Akande will not belittle himself to pay attention to distracters like Adedayo. Laolu Akande is a good and generous man. He is focused and diligent in discharging his duties as the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President, Media and Publicity. Let Adedayo make a change on his wardrobe full of ragtag coats and seek a redress to his mindset. It will help him. It certainly will. The public infantile display is really posing a distraction to the world's noblest profession, "Journalism". Of a truth, I did not have the stamina to pen this rejoinder, but it has become pertinent that I engage Festus Adedayo in plainest form, since he decided to stoop low without recourse to judgment of self-conscience. Oh, well. |
Nigerians on social media have called out journalist and columnist, Mr. Festus Adedayo for making a mockery of himself by peddling outright lies and falsehood. Most of them who aired their opinion via Tiwtter described Mr. Adedayo’s act as shameful and disgraceful, particularly because he has not being able to answer questions posed to him. Mr. Adedayo had in an article titled, ‘The Trials of Brother Osinbajo’, claimed that the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo had prayed that his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari died during his sick leave in the UK. Reacting to the article, Mr Nsikan Nkordeh wrote on Twitter, “Dr. Festus Adedayo is a disgrace. Why fabricating lies to put a wedge between Osibanjo and the tyrant. Really shameful,” he tweeted. Another Twitter user, Tunde believes that Mr Adedayo has been compromised. “Mr Akande know for free that dubious characters like Festus Adedayo will not answer your questions; not because he won’t see it but because he is someone who wants to fan the fire just to gain cheap popularity, and I bet he’s a man who has sold his soul for money.” Kemisola Adekunle demanded that Mr Adedayo upholds the ethics of journalism and answer the questions he was asked. “Festus Adedayo be sensible enough to answer Laolu’s questions and stop beating about the bush to further accentuate your drowned dignity/integrity.” Prince Nuhu Momoh was of the opinion that Mr Adedayo might not be feeling well. He tweeted this, “You can be taking it as a joke, but please go and check yourself because that is how it will start, taking someone’s matter to heart can cause blood pressure. Tise Somide had more harsh words for Mr Adedayo. “Festus Adedayo is a crook and no one clearly believes his lies about the VP. This consistent fake news against the VP shows he’s a great man indeed. Despite efforts to bring him down, he will forever be at the top.” As at the time of filing this report, Mr Adedayo was yet to respond to the questions raised by Mr Laolu Akande, the spokesperson to the Vice President. Mr Akande has asked Mr Adedayo some pertinent questions. “He claimed that the Vice President, together with some Redeemed Church ‘accomplices’, gathered to pray at some place unstated in his home State of Ogun, at a date that was not indicated, for the purpose of interceding for the VP to become President, and by extension, hoping for, or seeking the death of the President. “So where exactly in Ogun State did this prayer session take place, and when? Was it in a church, in which case there would likely be an audio recording? Who are the prominent pastors or other persons involved that can testify to what transpired – what are their names? Who is the “strong Buhari ally” who made a surprise appearance at the gathering and brought the story back to Mr. President? If, as Adedayo claims, the VP has been hounding and haranguing this Buhari ally since then, why is it so difficult for him to cry out and publicize his strange discovery? https://www.chronicle.ng/2019/11/nigerians-mock-festus-adedayo-over-lies/

FEMI FANI KAYODE: AJÈGBODÒ TÓ N WÁ ENI KÚNRA ...By Eniola Opeyemi in response to Femi Fani-Kayode's "Today Is Osinbanjo's Turn To Be Rubbished, Dumped By The Cabal, It's Tinubu's Turn Tomorrow" "Ajègbodò tó n wá eni kúnra" - Yoruba Proverb Translation: The guilty one is always looking for an accomplice. As a youth from the southern Nigeria, I grew up learning the ethics and values of the land from elders of reputable character who have good intentions for the society. Through this, our societal values have gotten the best recommendations and our race is widely considered as the finest. This moral teachings the likes of the foremost Yoruba leaders' learnt from and made them excel beyond the African territory. On this lineage, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, stood and today he is one of the finest expert known in his field, both in the classroom and the court room. Osinbajo is so grounded in his field that he is an institution that groups and individuals eulogise before coming on board as the vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Then, how can you rubbish an established personality that is not known through politics, having a distinct character that stood there test of time. Reading through Femi Fani Kayode's article, I came to a conclusion that not all old men are intelligent as some of them sold theirs for stipends. If Uncle Femi have existed during our ancestral days, he would have been banished from the land over his double faced character, sabotage and his registered misrepresentation. Egbon is so inconsistent that after his opposition role against the Jonathan regime, he took a u-turn and accepted a position under the same government he ridiculed, the greatest height of ineptitude. Fani-Kayode, who was the Director of Publicity of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential campaign organisation for the 2015 election is having a N4.9 billion fraud case against him, instead of coming out clean, the shameless uncle is so idle that he just speak without thoughts control. I won't be surprised if the man that is trying to gather his words to attack a government is actually doing that to get a position, wine and dine with the Nigerian Government. Osinbajo has said on countless number of times that their is no rift between himself and the President, but in Egbon's wildest evil imaginations,he actually wanted serious issues, because that is where he benefits. The only thing, Femi Fani Kayode have more than Prof. Osinbajo is being a coward. Aside that, he can't match her feat of the Ikenne born Senior Advocate of Nigeria. Which means that, the vice-president have the right character to maintain cordial relationship in government unlike Egbon's raster attitude that tears down all relationships. If Fani-Kayode is right in his disposition, a prove with the right evidences should be shown. But he has none in existence, he cooked up stories to get his bills paid, I but that is made impossible under this government. For the umpteenth time, FFK should stop being the pig that its favorite play is to drag others to mud. |
Letter to the Editor: RE: THE TRIALS OF BROTHER OSINBAJO Mr. Festus Adedayo’s article above is a sad descent into the gutter by this gentleman. When a professional columnist of Adedayo’s age and experience puts his reputation behind outright fiction and absolute mischief, usually it is a sign that the poor fellow is compromised. This is the sad reality we face today and it is truly troubling. But let us give Mr. Adedayo the benefit of the doubt. Let us assume that he has some facts to support the reckless insinuations and innuendoes in his article. He should then be able to answer the following questions. He claimed that the Vice President, together with some Redeemed Church ‘accomplices’, gathered to pray at some place unstated in his home State of Ogun, at a date that was not indicated, for the purpose of interceding for the VP to become President, and by extension, hoping for, or seeking the death of the President. So where exactly in Ogun State did this prayer session take place, and when? Was it in a church, in which case there would likely be an audio recording? Who are the prominent pastors or other persons involved that can testify to what transpired – what are their names? Who is the “strong Buhari ally” who made a surprise appearance at the gathering and brought the story back to Mr. President? If, as Adedayo claims, the VP has been hounding and haranguing this Buhari ally since then, why is it so difficult for him to cry out and publicize his strange discovery? Who primed Onnoghen to “package Buhari inside a judicial casket” during the 2019 elections? And to whose benefit? If, for any reason, the Buhari election was nullified by the judiciary, how would that benefit his running mate, since they contested on the same ticket? These asinine stories put together by Mr. Adedayo betray a more evil motive. The Vice President’s commitment to the service of the Nigerian people under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is unrelenting. But there is a desperation in some quarters to create a division between the President and the Vice President. It appears that they need some well known press names who are prepared to write anything. But for what reward? One wonders. They clearly found one here, as the writer’s jaundiced article bumbled from the realm of baseless claims to outright fiction. We do not expect an apology from Mr. Adedayo to the Vice President. This is the style of these professionals gone rogue. They are prepared to smear others and stick to their vile stories. Their conscience seems unperturbed by their reckleness. But, again, we give him the benefit of the doubt, let him answer the questions we have asked. Laolu Akande |
*Osinbajo and the Silence is the best answer for a FOOL treatment* My story is similar to that of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. At my office, for no reasons oooo, some people are plotting my downfall. Initially, I tried to fight back but then I noticed that those I was talking to were also part of them. As far as I am concerned I have already beaten them to their game with silence and that is one thing I only learnt recently. No time to waste energy on some useless elements, let them keep plotting, they will lose. Some do it against marriages, others in the office, just be careful. So one day, I was gisting with a friend who pointed that he likes Osinbajo’s strategy. I wondered what strategy he was talking about. I said they are firing him and he is saying nothing. That people are saying he is being undermined, reduced, etc but my friend laughed and said that his strategy is ‘Silence’. I looked at him, then he said I should adopt it at work too. Let me tell you something, the thing works like fire. All of a sudden, these people became more uncomfortable around. They were always wondering what I was thinking and planning. Later, by themselves, they began to snitch on each other. This one will say A said this, or B said that, me I just folded my arms and was watching them. That was when I understood Osinbajo better and even respected him. We all know that Nigerian politicians are used to propaganda, insulting themselves back and forth, in some cases they deploy the cruelest strategy to blackmail themselves. But for some reasons, the Vice President appears to be changing the game. He perhaps has deployed the common saying, “Silence is the best answer for a fool” to the fullest. His silence is saying more than a thousand words causing his pained traducers to try yet another strategy. One thing with silence is that it makes your attackers look stupid after a while. They will try to get you to react, they will go low and go high but if the silence is all they get the end up looking at themselves as the losers. |
