Doers of the word. The very first place to deceive yourself is in not doing the word after hearing it. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. The word of God says, "but be ye doers of the word". In other words, do not be hearers only. Doing the word is quite different from obeying the word. It's quite impressive to see how Apostle James described the doing of the word. When you take a careful look at this verse: 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. In simple translation: a man who beholds his natural face in a glass (mirror) and continues to look into it. Such an one isn't a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work. 'Doing' the Word is more about revelation knowledge than accomplishing a task. I do the word when I continue in the glory I see in the word. A lot of people cower in the face of trials just because of forgetful hearing. These ones will be in a meeting with the word or in their private study and their faith will go up but when they meet challenges they tend to succumb. In doing the Word, we persevere in the revelation of God's Word we have received about who we are in Christ and carry it into our daily walk. By pastor E.E. Udegbunam Of Believers School Of Faith A.K.A Lord's Brethren Nation. |
The failure of Christianity is not the failure of the
nature of God in man, but it is because man has
substituted church organization for the New
Creation.
Sense Knowledge has gained the supremacy in the
church, and Jesus is no longer Lord or Head of the
Church.
Worldly-minded men rule most of the churches.
II Corinthians 2:17, "For we are not as many,
corrupting the Word of God (or, as it reads in the
margin, making merchandise of the Word of God)."
That is preaching for a living, making money out of
the Gospel.
Conybeare says, "For I seek not profit like most by
setting the Word of God to sale (or by selling for
retail), but I speak from a single heart, from the
command of God, as in God's presence, and in
fellowship with Christ."

Men mine was a few days ego they storm my dad's hotel with a jeep and arrested me and a customer just for nothing, and I entered into a dirty cell, thanks to God and my uncle who called the commissioner and I was released. |
Residents of Itu Road, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, on Wednesday, woke to a horror sight, following the murder of a middle-aged barber by a close family friend and supposed boss. Steven Onowa, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic Oko, from Anambra State, was later arrested by men of the Akwa Ibom State police command over the murder of Daniel Bassey Solomon, his close friend and barbing salon employee. Nigerian Tribune gathered that Onowa, who tried to escape after allegedly butchering his friend and dismembering him, was arrested with the aid of a GSM tracking device employed by officers and men of the Force. Explaining the incident which led to the gruesome murder of the said barber, who hailed from Uruan Local Government Area, the state Police Commissioner, Mr Gabriel Achong, said the culprit confessed to have invited his friend to his house and offered him a drink. “At about 3.00 a.m, I decided to kill him. “I gave him the first cut, the guy got up; I gave him a second one and he died and I butchered him to parts,” the suspect confessed. The commissioner, who confirmed that a quarrel had been on for the past two years between the ‘butcher’ and his victim, even as their case file was still with the SARS department of the command, said the police were successful in tracking down the culprit through the assistance of his landlord, who kept contacting him on phone, as the police kept tracking the calls. “After stabbing him to death, he used matchet to chop off his hands, head and two legs. He packed the parts in a sack, pulled it out of the house to the major street of Itu Road.” Apparently tired of evacuating the corpse to a safer place, he was said to have abandoned the deceased in a bag, removed the vital parts, including his two hands, which he dumped in a place along School Road and the head, which he hid in abandoned dump site on the same Itu Road. The suspect, who confessed to the crime, said he had called his victim on phone for urgent meeting in his house, where he drugged his Orijin beer. When the late Dan arrived, his killer entertained him with the drugged beer and it was not long before the deceased dosed off, giving his killer the opportunity to tie him, before stabbing him to death. The suspect’s landlord, Mr Celestine George, who spoke to journalists at the police headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, said the police was called after the incident was reported and he had to put a call to the suspect and demanded for the balance of his rent. “The suspect said he was about travelling and that he was with the balance which he would pay me before travelling. I then asked him to meet me at Itam junction, within the premises of a church where I had already told the SARS men to lay ambush for him. “I kept calling him until he arrived at the premises of the church where I tricked him to. He came in a car with three armed mobile policemen and I hinted the men of the SARS formation, who had laid ambush for him within the premises and he was apprehended and handcuffed. “The three mobile policemen were eventually overpowered by the SARS men and the suspect was arrested and taken to the police headquarters at Ikot Akpanabia,” he said. What pained the angry residents of Itu Road the most, according to a neighbour, “is the fact that the suspect, apart from being a close friend of the deceased, was also having an affair with one of the late Dan’s sisters.” He disclosed that such close relationship led to the suspect opening a barbing salon for his victim along Urua Ekpa Road. When interrogated by newsmen, Onowa confessed to the crime and claimed to have killed his victim for daring to raise his voice at him over his N750, 000 he had refused to account for. “We reported the matter to SARS about two years ago and he agreed on a timeframe to pay up the N750, 000. Till today, he has refused to pay the money, so when I invited him to my house that day, he started shouting at and getting angry with me, so I killed him. I am not dealing in body parts. I only cut him to pieces to be able to carry him,” the suspect added. Source:www.informationng.com/2015/07/man-butchers-friend-in-akwa-ibom-warning-graphic-content.html |

Minister/$6Billion: US State Department denies Oshiomhole’s $6B story, asked him to name the US-Official– Reports Edo State governor who accompanied Buhari in 4-days State visit to United States has alleged that A minister who served under the former Goodluck Jonathan administration, stole $6billion (more than N1.2 trillion), he told Reporters on Monday. But quick contact with United States Department in Washington-DC, on the matter said it is false allegation. US State Department denied the story, asked Oshiomhole, to name the official and not drag United States into Nigeria domestic politics, Republic Reporters gathered. Oshiomhole who failed to disclose the name of the minister said the details were provided last week by United States officials during President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit there. Mr. Oshiomhole, who was part of the delegation, did not give the name of the minister. “We have moved away from a president that doesn’t seem to know his powers to one that understands that he is a president of the country in the continent,” Mr. Oshiomhole said in response to criticisms of the trip by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party. He spoke on Monday at the state house where he and the Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu, as members of the APC governors’ forum, briefed President Buhari on the outcome of a discussion held with APC Senators Sunday. “PDP destroyed the country- I mean from the lips of American officials; senior officials of the state department. They said one minister under PDP cornered as much as $6billion, and the man said even by Washington standard that is earth-quaking,” he said. He said the country was being very patient with the PDP; otherwise Nigerians would have been “stoning” anyone carrying the badge of the party. Mr. Oshiomhole said the PDP government plundered Nigeria, destroyed its institutions, damaged the military, converted the NTA to a party megaphone, destroyed the SSS, went after opposition, and compromised even student unions. Mr. Oshiomole said under the PDP, there was no law as they were law to themselves. “We are a very patient people. If we were not a patient people, anybody wearing the tag of PDP ought to feel very unsafe because you are all victims- all of us here,” he said. He quoted American officials as saying that Mr. Jonathan was seen as a confused president who did not know what they issues were, leaving others outside the country “frustrated”. Recalling a chat with the US Assistant Secretary of State, Johnnie Carson, on the difference between the two administrations, Mr. Oshiomhole said Mr. Carson told him that each time they thought that there was light at the end of the tunnel for Nigeria and it is time to encourage them to build on it, “you we would wake up the following day under president Jonathan to find out that even the tunnel had been removed”. “Now last week, this same Carson cheered the president’s address at the Institute of Peace. And he said ‘we now have a man of enormous integrity; one that has shown so much faith in the democratic process; one that refused to be frustrated even in the face of massively rigged elections,” he said. TRANSPARENCY INT’L RATES PRESIDENT JONATHAN GOVT AS BEST, SAYS BUHARI, OBASANJO GOVTS WORSE According to Transparency International’s data from 1979 till date, the tenures of both General Muhammadu Buhari and former President Olusegun Obasanjo were more corrupt than the tenure of President Goodluck Jonathan. The data also showed that under the administration of President Jonathan, Nigeria has recorded its best score in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) since 1979. This is in complete contrast to the sordid picture of rampant corruption being painted by the opposition, ardent critics of the Jonathan administration and much of the media in the last few years – especially in the build up to the general elections. But the point that the figures from Transparency International make so clearly is that, in comparative terms, Nigeria is actually much less corrupt today, and perceived globally to be much less corrupt today, than it has been in the last 35 years – including under the regimes of General Buhari and President Obasanjo, both of who wear the toga and chant the mantra of anti-corruption. Shockingly, according to the TI data, President Obasanjo’s first tenure had the worst scale of corruption during the 35 years period between 1979 and 2015. The TI Corruption Perception Index is a rating of countries from 1 to 100 showing their corruption scale. A rating of 1 is the worst and rating of 100 means a country is completely free of corruption. The pass mark is 50 and any country scoring below 50 is considered a corrupt country. In the year 2000, Nigeria was ranked the most corrupt country in the world – and improved marginally in 2001 and 2003 when it was rated the second most corrupt nation in the world in the TI’s Corruption Perception Index. This was certainly not under the watch of President Jonathan. Since 2012, Nigeria has made steady improvements in the CPI. Indeed, under President Jonathan, for the first time in decades, Nigeria is not in the list of 1-10 most corrupt countries in the world. In the 2014 Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index, issued in December, Nigeria was ranked 136 out of 175 countries surveyed in the report. This ranking placed Nigeria, alongside five other countries, as the 39th most corrupt country in the world. This is Nigeria’s best ranking in the last four years. With this ranking, Nigeria leapfrogged eight countries within a space of one year – from the 31st most corrupt nation in 2013 to the 39th in 2014. This may be regarded by cynics as a small achievement: but it represents a big step in the right direction. Indeed, the administration of President Jonathan deserves some commendation for the positive steps it has taken, and the modest achievements it has made so far, in the war against corruption – rather than the vengeful knocks it is receiving from various quarters. The US teen who sparked an Internet sensation by building a small drone capable of firing a handgun, has been arrested and released on a $20,000 bond, police said Thursday. Austin Haughwout, an 18-year- old mechanical engineering student from Clinton, Connecticut, was charged with assault and interfering with a police officer, officials said. The charges have nothing to do with the drone, but stem from an incident last Sunday and a physical altercation with officers, the Clinton police department said. He was arrested on Wednesday evening after being asked to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant. Police said he refused to submit to arrest and that he hit and kicked at two officers “repeatedly”. As a result he was charged with two counts of assault and a single count of interfering with an officer. The arrest warrant also charged Haughwout with interfering with an officer and failure to obey an officer’s signal. He appeared in court on Thursday and posted a $20,000 bond. Haughwout on July 10 posted a video called “Flying Gun” that shows a homemade multi-rotor drone hovering off the ground and firing a semiautomatic handgun in the Connecticut countryside. It has been watched around 2.8 million times and on Tuesday the Federal Aviation Administration said it was investigating. The FAA is poised to miss a September deadline for a final set of rules to govern civilian drones in crowded US skies — prompting industry fears that the United States is falling behind other countries in developing high-value UAV technology.
