- Application submitted: August 27, 2024.
- Biometric capturing: September 19, 2024.
- Collection: November 15, 2024.

Total duration: Approximately 11 weeks (79 days).

Good day, everyone.

I have successfully collected my passport without any hiccups. I did my capturing on 19th September at the Benin City office. Since then, I have been tracking it online, and last week I saw that it was ready for collection. I wasted no time and traveled to Benin today to collect it, to avoid any potential issues.

Thank you all who provided vital information to make the DIY process stress-free. You guys rock!

For Care worker, start by doing NVQ Health and Social Care atleast level 3. Most be Ofqual Regulated. Then after that start your job hunt direct with NHS, Trac, etc
Make sure your personal statement is ATS compliant to be able to be shortlisted for Interview. Many applicant to not get to this stage as a result of this.

For those asking about teaching job, package your cv very well, and start applying through indeed, TES and so many other agencies. The truth is you only need to be a registered teacher in Nigeria with years of experience to get a job and of course pray very hard. I am a living witness, i got a teaching job directly into a school from Nigeria, i landed in the uk last Wednesday without any help from any body or agency. My school is in Kent, the Lord has been so good to me. If you are a science teacher, your chance is very high provided you are ready to do the hard work of updating your cv, searching for schools and submitting tons applications. Cover letter and personal statement are also very important. All the best

Thank you all for your support! I visited the NIS office today and received excellent service. My documents (payment slips, application slip, and appointment slip, both photocopies and originals) were collected, and I was instructed to return home, assured that I would receive an approval email and come back tomorrow for capturing.

To my greatest surprise, while still on my way home and sitting on the bus, I received the NOTIFICATION FOR THE APPROVAL EMAIL! I'm overjoyed as my approval status has changed to VETTED.

Capturing, here I come!

Go to servicom office in the passport centre you choose if your application is DIY. If you go straight to capturing office, they will bounce you back. Once they see servicom signature and minutes at the capturing office, they will capture you and update your status. Just make sure your documents are correct.
That's what I was told at festac passport office.

Go to the passport office for capturing with all the necessary documents, they will direct you to servicom office where your documents will be checked for correctness. Is because they are not sure of the documents you submitted online and want to check them physically (especially that local government of origin) before approval. Once servicom minutes and signs on it, you take it for capturing where your status will be updated. I am having same issue and this is what i was told in festac passport office. 3 of people have successfully captured in my house after registering online by themselves.

This is what my tracking is showing while my application status is showing waiting approval, and my appointment date is 19th, I plan to go for capturing like that e 8f I didn't not get approval mail before on the 19.
I made payments and submitted my application since August 27th 2024.

I having the same issue , I submitted my application and made payments since 27th of Aug 2024, I booked appointment for 19th of Sept 2024, up till now I have not gotten approval mail, I keep checking my mails and spam folder nothing, whenever I checked my application status it keeps showing ' waiting for approval '

I have been calling the NIS customer care line three times since the second week of appreciation they keep telling me to exercise patient, they are not even asking for my details to troubleshoot, i have sent countless email yet no single feedback, but what really surprised me today was when I called them today the guy man that picked my calls was telling me to keep waiting that my appointment date has a life span of 6 months for capturing, when I asked him if there is anything they can do to troubleshoot and resolve it he said no, that they are not in controll of it although he admitted the fault is from their ends , that I should keep waiting , upon registering my displeasure of not having someone to speak to to help troubleshoot that can gives one the safety that ones issues I been attended to, to at least collect my dtails for troubleshooting, the guy man hung up on me....this situation is so appalling.

Na wah, oh so like this like this now, wetin I go do, I'm so so confused and frustrated, if I had known that DIY applications is like this i wouldn't have venture into it.

NB; it's obvious that it's not when u book an appointment that is too closed to the application date, that causes delay in getting approval, because that was what I was told , I have to make mine to be at least 3 weeks intervals yet I'm having the same issue.

May GOD ALMIGHTY help my case. Amen

Yes it means the day you will go for capturing.
Ignore that person he knows nothing about the application process, it is the appointment that qualifies you for capturing.

Please who has done birth attestation certificate on NPC portal before , I have been on it since morning, made payments, it keep showing NIN NOT FOUND, I have to skip the NIN and proceed so that i can come back later and update with NIN, yet it keeps Showing NIN not found on the process of updating. but my NIN is working perfectly on other platforms like immigration portal, what could be wrong with NPC

Although I have reached out to NPC on WhatsApp they said -"The nin verification is having a downtime, Please try again at the end of the day or tomorrow"

Has anyone ever experience this ?

1. It will not be accepted because you didn't attach a passport photo.

3. …technical glitches and perhaps choosing an appointment date less than 2 or 3 weeks from the day of your application are the cause of delay in receiving approval email.

I intend to do a fresh passport application tomorrow, the sate where I will chose for capturing is Benin City.

Now these are my questions.

1. I was born in 1991, meaning I will be needing affidavit of age declaration but the one I currently have was sworn at the customry Court, no picture attached to it, can it be accepted ?

2. I intend to use my phone , I hope there are option for downloading slip and other necessary receipts, I don't want a situation I will finish application I will not be able to download the necessary slips.

3. I hear people complaining of delay in getting emai
of confirmation of payments , how do I avoid this delay ?
