HealthScientists Perform World’s First Successful Penis Transplant by YoungestMuller(op): 9:27am On Mar 16, 2015

SOUTH African surgeons have performed
a groundbreaking operation in which
they got the penis of a 21-year old man
restored after it was amputated due to a
botched circumcision. According to a
report by the Daily Mail Online, the transplant was carried out in December
at Tygerberg Hospital in South Africa but
announced at the weekend. The penis was said to have been
donated to the hospital by “a deceased
organ donor.” Nerves and blood
vessels were connected by a team of
surgeons. The patient made “rapid”
recovery and has regained all functions in the organ. The operation took South African
surgeons nine hours to perform, and
allowed the patient to urinate normally
and become sexually active again. The
South African government has praised
the surgeons who performed the operation. The Head of Western Cape Government
Health, Dr. Beth Engelbrecht, said: “We
are very proud to be part of this
groundbreaking scientific achievement.
It is good to know that a young man’s
life has been significantly changed with this very complex surgical feat. From
experience we know that penile
dysfunction and disfigurement has a
major adverse psychological effect on
people.” Three years ago the man, who remains
unidentified, was forced to have his
penis amputated after a botched
circumcision. Each year, thousands of
young men, mainly from the Xhosa tribe
in South Africa, have their foreskins removed in traditional rituals, with
experts estimating around 250 losing
their joysticks each year to medical
complications. The operation was carried out by
surgeons from Stellenbosch University
and Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town,
South Africa, using a penis donated from
a deceased person. They said the
procedure allowed the man to regain all function in the newly transplanted
organ. Nine more patients will now
receive penile transplants. Prof. André
van der Merwe, head of the
university’s Division of Urology, said
they were surprised by the patient’s rapid recovery. ‘Our goal was that he would be fully
functional at two years and we are very
surprised by his rapid recovery.” Prof.
Frank Graewe, another of the
hospital’s surgeons who assisted on
the operation, said: ‘It’s a massive breakthrough. We’ve proved that it
can be done – we can give someone an
organ that is just as good as the one that
he had. It was a privilege to be part of
this first successful penis transplant in
the world.’ Van der Merwe said having a penis
amputated is known to have a seriously
adverse psychological effect on men.
“This is a very serious situation. For a
young man of 18 or 19 years, the loss of
his penis can be deeply traumatic. He doesn’t necessarily have the
psychological capability to process this.
There are even reports of suicide among
these young men.” The expert, who
said finding a donor organ was one of
the main challenges to the procedures, called the man who donated his penis,
and his family, heroes. The procedure was performed as part of
a pilot study to develop a penile
transplant procedure that could be
performed in a typical South African
hospital. The planning and preparation
for the study started in 2010. After extensive research, Van der Merwe and
his surgical team decided to use
techniques developed for the first facial
transplant. It was learnt that the
operation was the second time that this
type of procedure was attempted, but the first time in history that a successful
long-term result was achieved. According to the report, a man in China
received a transplant in 2005 but that
man asked surgeons to remove the new
organ two weeks later. Van der Mewe
said the procedure could eventually also
be extended to men who have lost their joysticks from penile cancer or as a last-
resort treatment for severe erectile
dysfunction due to the side effects from
medication.

PoliticsSouthwest Leaders Flay Allegations, Says APC Also Giving Bribe by YoungestMuller(op): 9:17am On Mar 16, 2015

MIXED reactions yesterday trailed the allegations that some traditional rulers from the South-West were financially induced with foreign currencies by President Goodluck Jonathan during recent visits to the zone. While some leaders traced the allegation
to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC with the claim that the APC was equally involved in inducing leading monarchs, Governor Babatunde Fashola on his part affirmed that the money allegedly received by the monarchs could change the face of infrastructure in any state. Leaders from the South-West, who vented their anger over the allegation included Afenifere chieftain, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on National Dialogue, Senator Femi Okurounmu, National Publicity secretary of the Pan- Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Mr Yinka Odumakin; National Coordinator
of Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams and the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. It is a cheap propaganda – Ayo Adebanjo Reacting, Adebanjo described the allegation as cheap propaganda saying the accused monarchs cannot be easily bought over. The Afenifere chieftain said “I believe those that have that have been accused should refute the allegations because I do not want to allow anyone to use me. However, I think the story is cheap propaganda because this is not the first time such stories will be flying around. I want to believe the Yoruba traditional rulers are not that cheap. But if the traditional rulers are that saleable, that is their own problems and not mine. All I can say is that the man who brought me into politics can vouch for me that I won’t get involved in such things.” APC is worried over Jonathan’s popularity in S/West — Femi Okurounmu On his part, Senator Okurounmu, who was a delegate to the National Conference accused the APC of being behind the publication. According to him, “Bola Tinubu has stretched its tentacles but they are seriously worried that President Jonathan is making reaching out to Yoruba leaders in the South-West. Tinubu
had concluded he has the control of the South-West, he has seen the South-West as his birthright. I believe strongly that nothing is wrong with President Jonathan reaching out to Afenifere, the traditional rulers and other sections of the Yoruba.” “He has the right to campaign or ask for votes in the South-West just like other candidates are also canvassing for votes in other zones of the country. If Tinubu feels he has an evidence of traditional rulers collecting money from the President, he should provide the evidence and show Nigerians,” he said. Our traditional institutions are sacred— Afenifere
Afenifere spokesperson, Mr Odumakin said traditional institutions should not be dragged into the murky mud of politics. Odumakin said “I think there is a deliberate attempt to desecrate and undermine our traditional institutions, but it should not be allowed. They can go on laying claims that Obas collected money without pictorial facts, I don’t think that is good journalism, it is not good. Our traditional institutions are sacred and no one should be allowed to disparage our monarchs all in the name of politics.” Opposition should stop misleading Nigerians—Gani Adams
National Coordinator of the OPC, Otunba Adams said the opposition should stop misleading Nigerians by presenting falsehood.
He said “I think the APC should be careful in their attempt to rubbish our traditional
institutions.
Politicians visiting monarchs is not new in Nigeria’s history, it dates back to the First Republic. Politicians visiting monarchs go there to solicit their blessings and support. Now they are going round peddling false claims that some of our traditional rulers were given money. How much is $ 250,000 compared to the wealth of the Ooni of Ife, the Alafin of Oyo, the Awujale of Ijebuland or the Soun of Ogbomosho? These Obas are billionaires in their right. It is very wrong for them to spread information without concrete facts. Also, they are spreading wrong information that ethnic militias in the South West have been financially induced with N9 billion to destabilise the zone. I do not think that is fair. These spin doctors have gone ahead to say that Afenifere, OPC and the Yoruba Council of Elders have been induced to support President Jonathan.” In addition, he said “the APC is fond of attacking anyone who is not supporting its cause and I do not think that is healthy for our democracy. Anyone is entitled to support a candidate of his or her choice. I am appealing to those who are behind this not to destroy the reputation of our traditional institutions all in the name of winning elections. How many Yoruba leaders or groups has the presidential candidate of the APC, General Muhammudu Buhari consulted? The APC should stop passing false information, if they are confused, they should not damage the reputation of the people that are not with them. For me, the APC is fond of castigating anyone that is not supporting their cause. For the
fact that some of us have adopted Jonathan, the APC has tagged us as their enemies.” Allegation is frivolous—Lagos PDP
On its part, the Lagos PDP described the allegations as frivolous saying “the fact
that the President visited the South west cannot affect the chances of the PDP rather, it will boost it.” The state publicity secretary of the party, Mr Taofik Gani said “the allegation that some traditional rulers were given money by President Jonathan is frivolous and unfounded. Also, the allegation is in continuous attempt of the penchant by the opposition against the president. What is threatening to the APC is that one of their leaders had once disparaged traditional rulers in the South-West and that is why they are jittery. The APC is quick to conclude that President Jonathan distributed dollars because it is their habit to bribe voters.”
He challenged the leadership of the APC to “swear by the Bible or the Koran if they are not in the habit of inducing people. “What the President has done by leaving the seat of power to visit traditional rulers in their domain will only boost his chances especially in the South-West. However, we expect the monarchs, who have been accused, to speak up and say whether the president gave them money or not”, he said. What PDP spent on campaign will build state–Fashola
Meanwhile, Governor Babatunde Fashola
has said that the huge fund spent by the PDP led-Federal Government on campaign in the last few weeks could build insfrastructure in any state. Fashola made the allegation while commissioning the N1 billion Oyingbo Ultra Modern Market, Yaba local Government, 24 years after it was demolished for reconstruction. He said that the federal government doesn’t understand how to proffer solution to the country’s challenges, saying “if you vote for Buhari, he will fight corruption.”
According to him, “If you switch on your television today, you will see different campaigns. And if you check how much they had (PDP led Federal Government) spent campaigning for the forthcoming election, it is big enough to build infrastructure in a state.” He explained “This money spent by them (PDP led Federal Government) belongs to the citizens. This is the money their loyalist realized from kerosene sales. The kerosene should be sold for N50. “But residents aren’t buying it at that price. And the addition is being embezzled by some of their loyalists. And that was why the product is sold at N180 per liter.
That is the money they spend on election
campaign and other illicit activities,” Fashola added. The governor lamented that rather than address the country’s challenges, President Jonathan started sharing money few weeks to the elections, adding “He should not have decided to contest this election if he realized that he
has failed to fulfil his promises.”

PoliticsAPC Has Evidence Of Jonathan’s Interim Govt Plan –fayemi by YoungestMuller(op): 8:57am On Mar 16, 2015

Ex-Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has said the All Progressives Congress has strong evidence against President Goodluck Jonathan over his alleged plot to foist an Interim Government on the country. He said the allegation made by the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that his life was being threatened confirmed the desperation of the Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government and Jonathan. Fayemi, who said this in Aramoko Ekiti on Saturday during the 40-day Fidau for the late Pa Jejelola Akingbolu and Mrs. Raliat Akingbolu, also lambasted Governor Ayodele Fayose for allegedly lying against the APC Presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), over his health status. “We have heard somebody whose own definition of politics is about lying, saying Gen. Buhari was taken to a hospital in London. Buhari never went to the hospital throughout the 10 days he was in London, because I was with him throughout. “Fayose even used his mother as an example of how people who are old used to behave just because he wanted to drive home a point that Gen. Buhari was sick. This is like disgracing his own mother in the public and it is against the value Ekiti is known for.” The ex-governor said Jonathan could not deny that he invited Tinubu to be part of the planned Interim Government, saying that the APC leader made the allegation in good faith and not to discredit the President or heat up the polity. He said, “President Jonathan is becoming desperate by the day and he would stop at nothing to return to government. You know what they did in Ekiti. So, there was nothing Tinubu said that was not verifiable. “I have evidence that he (Tinubu) was invited to be part of the Interim Government as a way of dividing us as a prominent member of our party. There is
absolutely nothing they cannot do to distract us because they could see that the Presidency is gradually slipping off their hands. “It was good that these alarms were being raised and put in the front burner that there was a sinister intention to subvert the will of the people. “What Nigerians are looking for now is for the elections to hold on March 28 as scheduled by INEC and for the victor, who will be overwhelmingly elected by the popular votes, to be announced. “We, as party leaders and members of opposition, are ready to congratulate the
winner but if they go ahead and subvert the will of the people, they will surely go to jail.” Fayemi assured Nigerians that Buhari would keep to his promise not to dig into the financial corruption perpetrated in the past under Jonathan if that was what
members of the ruling party were afraid of. “Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari said he won’t look into the past. He said he will draw the line on the very day he took over and I don’t know why President Jonathan, who has the paraphernalia of office, is afraid of election. “There was nothing the PDP, even as a ruling party has not done to ensure that these elections are not held. We have heard about the sowing of fake Army uniform. We have heard about how they want to use the Army to rig the election. We have seen attempt to sack Prof. Attahiru Jega. We have heard about how
they have been preaching about religion, talking about the health of Gen. Buhari and the way they had been canvassing for postponement of elections and non-usage of card readers.
The big question still remain, why are they afraid of election?” Fayemi declared that the government of Jonathan would be held responsible, if anything bad happened to Tinubu.

CelebritiesWaje Declines Comment On Her Near-Unclad Photo Shoot by YoungestMuller(op): 8:42am On Mar 15, 2015

Since Aituaje Iruobe, known as WAJE arrived the music scene she has pretty much kept things close to her chest. For her, is not the wild side of life. Until recently, December, to be precise, when she took the plunge in a near-nude photo shoot for the maiden cover of MADE magazine. It was a move many applauded for her boldness even though many more thought the soulful singer crossed the line. No doubt WAJE has a body on her that would make many want to see their surgeons and she aptly flaunted it in the photo sessions. She showed off her curves in a black leotard attire and came off as a seductress having a sort of communion with herself. ‘A Woman on Fire’ was what the magazine tagged the issue but some observers saw it more like a woman having a cuddly time-out with herself. But the big question here is, what did it take to get WAJE to come out of her usual hermit skin? We know most stars would have done that for a few dollars or in desperation to revive a sinking career. If WAJE’s career is not at the window looking out, then what has givenThis, Potpourri took to her to seek what went down before she could go all raunchy. But the singer would have none of that and responded almost in anger. “I don’t wish to comment on that” she spat out. “ I did a magazine cover, it was no way near being nude. It was just gym shoots” she added.

CrimeTension In Southern Kaduna Over The Killing Of 3 Catholics by YoungestMuller(op): 8:24am On Mar 15, 2015

The presence of armed soldiers manning
two strategic points in Gidan Waya, a small town under a hill, about 18km south of Kafanchan, the bubbling hub of Southern Kaduna, in Jema’a Local Government Area, LGA, of Kaduna State, is the most impressionable aspect of the town to visitors. There, as residents would say, soldiers play the roles of policemen and local bullies. But, last Sunday, the two check points on the Abuja-Jos and
Gidan Waya- Kafanchan
roads were empty. The community had literally sacked them, with bare hands and moral power. It all began from a minor argument, but, fanned by ego, it blew into a full scale skirmish, during which a lieutenant in the army and three others were allegedly shot dead, though the Nigerian Army was yet to confirm it lost an officer. Chief Danjuma La’ah (Shetiman Kagoro), who had spent a fortune peaking over N100 million, catering for the welfare of soldiers stationed in Southern Kaduna since the April 2011 crisis, visited the homes of two of the killed persons in Gidan Waya and in Kagoro after their burial last Thursday, and lamented that a misunderstanding between soldiers and residents could reach such a tragedy, and called for calm. Mr Shetima, senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Southern Kaduna also paid a condolence visit to the Chief of Godogodo, Chief Ajiya Atang, and asked for a smooth, close collaboration between military and security outfits and residents in the area. Those allegedly killed were identified as Zakaria Yaki (48), a worker with the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, at Gidan Waya; David Jester (24), a part two student with Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya and a man yet to be identified. The unidentified man’s body was deposited at the Kafanchan General Hospital. The army lieutenant, whose identity was not confirmed at the time of writing this report, was said to have died from the injuries he sustained, but other sources said that the army came and took him to an unknown place from the Kafanchan General Hospital, where he was taken after being rescued. What looked like an narration of the tragedy came from the Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan Archdiocese, Bishop Joseph Bagobiri. He gave a vivid account of the alleged murder of the three men, ostensibly Catholics, by soldiers and the retaliatory mob action on the soldiers that left one of the soldiers lynched and some rifles carted away. The incident, according to the bishop, took place at Gidan Waya, during the Sunday Mass Service. In a press statement in Kaduna, Bagobiri said: “The peaceful atmosphere that usually characterize Sunday worship in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Gidan Waya in Jama’a LGA of Kaduna State was the 8th of March, 2015 between the hours of 9am and 10am disrupted as a result of a clash between the army and our Catholic
Cadets. “The incidence happened when one of the army officers was going to Church and met the entrance to the Catholic Church premises from the main road blocked as our usual security measure. This road block was being manned by the Catholic Cadets. The said officer was allowed to pass. But later came back to question the authority behind the road- block. This brought about a serious argument that led to the exchange of words which eventually led to physical combat. “The army officer then called on his men who on arrival simply opened fire on the boys, killing one of them instantly.
This was followed by a sporadic gun shots which attracted the attention of other members in the Church. “About this time, the priest in charge of the parish quickly called the bishop at about 11amto inform him about the happenings. The bishop immediately alerted the Police Division in Kafanchan and, within a short time, they were there to calm the situation. “Three people have been confirmed dead while two others who sustained various degree of injuries are in the General Hospital in Kafanchan receiving treatment. “Furious with the indiscriminate shooting that eventually led to these deaths and injuries, the enraged youth pounced on the military officer who was eventually rescued and taken to hospital and is now feared dead. “The enraged youth did not stop at that. It is said that some of them went to the officer’s apartment and made away with two guns. “But one has been so far recovered. The other one is yet to be recovered though the community leaders are working towards recovering it.” The bishop went on: “The situation is now calm and normal life has resumed as people are seen going about their normal businesses. “We do not pray for a repeat of this ugly situation again. “The army and the local people should learn to work together to create a safe environment for citizens. “We deeply regret this avoidable and very unfortunate incident that led to the death of four lives including that of the military officer, and leaving scores of others under hospitilization and in critical conditions now. “The altercations between the youths and the officer would not have occurred and with such disastrous consequences had the officer respected the right of the youths to keep vigil over the rest of their members who were worshipping, which
is a common practice everywhere in Nigeria today because of the scourge of insecurity brought about by the Boko Haram menace. “The indiscriminate shooting by the military on the slightest act of provocation, which resulted to these deaths reveals the unpreparedness and poor preparation of our soldiers to handle civil cases. “We therefore condemn in very strong terms such extra judicial killings and ask Government to step in and provide a solution to these kind of reckless behavior of our security forces who can pull a trigger and waste lives at the slightest act of provocation. “This unfortunate incident has brought to the surface again, the precarious situation of the helpless and vulnerable people of southern Kaduna, who are always under attack from the Fulani herdsmen, and when they look up to the military for protection, they are being killed, there by adding salt to injury”. Sunday Vanguard, however, learnt from the Chief of Godogodo that the two guns had been recovered but the magazines were still missing. “I am convening a security meeting this Monday, (tomorrow) after I had directed that everything be done to recover the magazines”, he said.

PoliticsSuspected PDP Thugs Vandalize APC Campaign Bus, Scatter Ward Meeting In Akure by YoungestMuller(op): 9:24pm On Mar 14, 2015

Thugs suspected to be working for
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
unleashed terror on party
members of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) in Ondo state
yesterday March 13.
*********************************
According to Sahara Reporters, the
hoodlums, numbering about eight,
attacked innocent members of the APC
while observing their weekly meeting at
ward 9, Iro, on Ayelabola Street, Akure,
the state capital. The criminals also vandalized and
smashed the windscreen of an 18-
seated Toyota Campaign Bus used by the
party at the ward. Police investigators have visited the
scene, but no arrest has been made. A card-carrying member of APC in the
state, Ifedayo Ologbosere who narrated
the incident to Sahara Reporters said the
hoodlums came in on a motorcycle to
disrupt the meeting. “We are about to start the meeting
proper, after our ward Chairman had
asked one of the members to stand up
and pray to commence the meeting. “Suddenly the hoodlums just came in
and disrupted the meeting. They came
with bags of pure water and started
throwing and bathing us with the
water,” he said. Ologbosere added that some of the
party members where chased and
stoned to a point of death, adding that
the matter has been reported with to the
police. “Not only water, some used stone and
they chased our members with the aim
of killing them. We just have to scamper
for safety and everywhere was in
disarray. Many of our members were
badly injured.” A trader in the street told
SaharaReporters that the suspected
thugs had bought bags of pure water
and laid ambush on the members to
commence their meeting. The trader further said, the suspects
wore a T-shirt branded with the PDP logo
and pictures of President Goodluck
Jonathan. A member of the Ondo State House of
Assembly, Kemisola Adesanya,
representing Akure South Constituency,
has been blamed for the incident. The suspected thugs were said to be the
political agents of the female lawmaker
who played a significant role in rigging
the election that brought her into the
Parliament. She has since threatened
never to see any other political party having meeting in the street except PDP. However it would be recalled that,
armed thugs suspected to be members
of APC killed one person and injured
several others during PDP’s
Governorship rally at Bakana town,
Rivers State.
Nairaland GeneralStrange Owl Appears In Delta State Govt. House – SEE What Happened Next by YoungestMuller(op): 9:08pm On Mar 14, 2015
[b]
Those working in the Delta State
Government House, Asaba, Thursday
scampered for safety, following the
appearance of an Owl in one of the
offices. The owl, according to a reliable
source, perched on a table in the office when the office was opened by a lady
working there, adding that the lady
(name withheld) who was gripped with
fear raised alarm which attracted others
who were just trying to settle down for
the day’s job at about 8 am. The source, who pleaded anonymity,
said the owl was flogged to death and
set ablaze by the workers who saw its
appearance as a sign of bad omen. He
added that songs of praises and worship
were sung to adore the Almighty God for the few persons who picked up courage
and moved against the strange bird. Speaking further, the source told Vanguard another lady (name withheld) who is also working in the
Government House rushed in few
minutes later and threatened that at
least five persons would be killed to
avenge the death of the owl, which she
claimed to be hers. Disclosing that the said lady hails from one of the villages in
Okpe, the source said; “We have decided to leave her for
God.”Whatever evil she planned to
wreck in the office with the owl,
would revert to her.” Effort made to reach the lady who
claimed ownership of the owl proved
abortive at press time. However, a source close to her, said “She was just joking; nobody can
claim ownership of an owl. “Do you really think anybody in his
or her right senses will come out
publicly to claim ownership of an
owl and also threaten to kill five
persons to avenge its death? It was
a mere joke and that issue has been handled and settled, the source said,
adding “We killed the owl, burnt it
while drawing power from God
Almighty who is the maker of the
heaven and earth. And we joined
our faiths together in setting the strange owl ablaze. “Whatever evil plan it was meant
to wreck in our office has been
returned to the sender. We are
untouchable”. As at the time of filing this report, effort
was still being made to reach the lady
whose office the owl was found for
comment on the matter. According to an
online dictionary, an Owl is a nocturnal
bird of prey that kills other creatures for food: appearing traditionally as
warnings of doom and as symbol of
wisdom.

CrimeRobbery Attack At Lekki: Read How The Robbers Struck by YoungestMuller(op): 8:58pm On Mar 14, 2015
[b]
It was like an epic Hollywood
scene. Five young men, dressed in
military fatigue uniforms and
wielding AK47 automatic rifles,
just emerged from the nearby
waterway bordering the lagoon along Ikoyi/Lekki bridge.

Their mission was obvious because they started firing from all fronts. It was the peak hour when workers were on their way home. Pandemonium ensued as people ran
helter-skelter. Some motorists on top of
the bridge nearly plunged into the river
safe for the rails that barricaded them. There was mass race towards the Ikoyi
end of the bridge. The race transcended
age limit as both the young and old took
to their heels. ATTACK ON TARGET While this lasted, the gun totting
hoodlums proceeded towards their
target. There was no doubt that their fire
power was to clear way for the
accomplishment of their mission. They entered by the lagoon into an
empty but fenced land beside a
shopping complex which borders FCMB
and Stanbic Bank, IBTC, by the
roundabout of the Lekki end of the
bridge. They forced the miscreants in the empty
plot of land to open the makeshift black
gate entrance of the plot and burst out
into Admiralty road and started shooting
indiscriminately. That was how they
succeeded in forcing their way into the banks. POLICE VICTIMS Unfortunately, as soon as the hoodlums
outside the banks sited some policemen
in a white coaster bus, they released
volleys of bullets towards their direction. The policemen were on escort duty with
expatriates in the bus when they ran
into the scene. Three of the policemen were felled
while the expatriates were seated
unruffled in the white coaster bus as the
operation lasted. Not even their brief cases (quite a
number of them) were touched by the
hoodlums. This triggered off another
round of commotion as both passers-by
including other pedestrians and
hawkers, took to their heels. A little girl who sells fish in the area was
also felled by hot leads of bullets from
the bandit’s weapons. ESCAPE ROUTE While the bandits were busy packing
huge sums of money into bags, their
colleagues were at alert outside the
banks, busy releasing bullets in all
directions. After they had packed money to their
satisfaction, they escaped through the
toll plaza where millions of cash were
collected daily. But they did not collect even a kobo from
them. POLICE ARRIVES SCENE Barely fifteen minutes after the bandits
escaped through the water way with
their loot, a team of policemen arrived
the scene. Police sources said information about
the attack came late to the command
headquarters in Ikeja which swiftly
deployed men of the Special Anti-
Robbery Squad, SARS, to the scene. However, their counterparts at Maroko,
which is the nearest to the scene
reportedly claimed they were not
informed early. POLICE BOSS REACTS Sources said the daylight operation
which took place around 4.30pm rattled
police authorities in the state. Based on this, a crack team of Anti-
robbery detectives were deployed to
Lekki, Ajah, Badagry and Epe areas with
stern instructions to fish out
perpetrators of the attack. So far, both the anti -robbery team and
Marine Police are combing the
waterways with a view to tracing their
escape route. It was reliably gathered that few hours
after the incident, the State Police boss,
Kayode Aderanti, abandoned his other
official engagements and proceeded to
the scene to personally access the
situation. Thereafter, he led a crack team of
policemen later in the night to all the
black spots in and around the area
where it was reliably learnt that
appreciable success was recorded after
the arrest of suspected hoodlums at the spots. The operation by the police, reports said,
lasted till the wee hours of the night.

Nairaland GeneralIf Angels Are Like Network, Which Would U Put In Charge Of Ur Prayers by YoungestMuller(op):

We are all aware of the poor or manageable state of the so-called service providers in Nigeria but definitely we are subjected to taking 1 of them as our favourite
Now the question is:- If Angels In Charge of Taking Our Prayers To Heaven Are Like Network Providers...Which Would U Rather Choosehuh

1. MTN :- Even though we complain of it low stand esp. wen its raining yet it seems to be the majorly used {Everywhere U go}

2. Etisalat :- A thing we can call "saviour of the youths" cuz it comes wen it seems the latter are enslaving us internetically{if a word like that everly exist} its somehow efficient and financially favourable {Now U ar talking}

PoliticsOPINION POLL: Jonathan Vs Buhari: Who Has A Better Record? by YoungestMuller(op): 1:53pm On Jan 05, 2015
[b]
IN more experienced democracies, the choice of who
deserves to be elected the president of Nigeria between
President Goodluck Jonathan and former Head of state
General Mohammadu Buhari, in the 2015 presidential
election would be a forgone issue due to the fact that both
contestants have been in office as president and Nigerians
have experienced the governance styles of both, with first-
hand observation of their strengths and weaknesses, and
importantly what both achieved while in office.
It is important to examine the public records for the facts of
what both did while in office because as Professor Wole
Soyinka said about the public records of General Buhari
while he was in office,
“History matters. Records are not kept simply to assist the
weakness of memory, but to operate as guides to the future”.
So on a lovely Monday as this we trow up an Opinion poll so
we can all air our views a well meaning Nigerians taking part
of the electoral process come 2015.
