You know, it does not only baffles but also pain me when I see men losing themselves over women that don't really love them. Like, as a wise man as you claim, how do you go about on spending spree on a woman that don't love you and you're unable to detect that??

1) You're her ATM (to euphemize it) provider..
2) You're a good man and she knows this and so, have to stay to gaslight/exploit/manipulate you to do her bidding..
3) The man she fantasizes about either don't have her time, not taking her serious or she don't have access to him, the moment that happens, it is game over for you..
4) You probably promised her marriage and/or you're married to her. Women see marriage more like an achievement/protection..
5) Selfish calculations/opportunity. You're still very strong either in age or in finance. What this means is that, she knows revealing her true colors now will cost her her place in you. So she is patient, pending the right time. If you still don't understand, she knows you can replace her and win because you're not weak yet in position or finance, go broke and/or old, you will see pepper from her and you will be lucky if she doesn't recruit the kids with her. Also, have you not wondered why a wife would be so loving, respectful and all while in Nigeria, but the moment she steps outside, she immediately or gradually become something else, why? Opportunity based on her long time selfish calculations that you don't even know about. I mean, as a typical Nigerian man, I can boldly say that no man will see/know the true colours of his woman and still plan/sponsor her overseas, nah. That's for you men, who still have this "my wife is different, she can't misbehave.." mentality. Ask other men who are victims of their wives today, they thought same too..

A wise man learns from others, not from his own experience but the foolish one learns from his own experience and become a lesson for others...

Dear men, please take good care of your dads now that he's still alive, or else the guilt of you not doing enough would always be there. Good points to most of the contributors to this thread. As a man, love your yourself, create your happiness/joy from within, build your own wealth, provide for yourself first before others. Marry one woman (if you're hellbent on doing that) but if she keeps giving you reason to add to her, please do not hesitate because the see finish/contempt/disrespect grows worse with time, and your chances to add or replace her become slimmer by the day. I grew up in the south and realized most landed/house properties some men fought/battled tooth and nail were/are being sold cheaply by their kids, especially the first sons.
