Timeline:
1st application: January 16 2018
Outcome: denied

2nd Application; 26th March 2018
Application not straight forward mail; 16th April
Passport collection: 30th April
Outcome; Visa Granted..

What I did differently in the application was to address the reasons for denial in the first application, which was origin of my funds.

I highlighted my bank statement with yellow marker and explained with a cover letter..
what do you mean by you highlighted the statement of account you submitted ? did you use the same statement of account you used in your first application for your second application as well or you printed a new statement of account before march 26th ?

please list the documents you submitted and your past refusal letter to help others understand how the ECO denied you with the origin of funds to make it easier for others to do same thing if they ever encountered such in future

Hello House....Has anyone gotten their passport after going to the British embassy in VI due to delay of processing their visa after waiting more than the 15 working days or even more ?

i am asking this as my application has been with UKVI since Nov 30th 2017,..i am honestly tired of waiting and after several attempt getting my passport back even to the extent of writing to their that email we get charged, i have written to this people 4 times already and each time i write to them, all i get is they say "wait for another 15 working days before contacting us again blah blah " i mean i have waited for more than 100 working days and nothing yet...

I don't just want to go to VI and the security men there won't listen to me or even allow me near the embassy

what is the best solution now, writing to them or calling them is of no use as the only thing they can say is "wait another 15 working days" and i get charged every time i write to them

and TLS Ikeja is not even helping matters as they kept saying my passport has not been returned to them

until i die before this people go return my passport abi lol undecided undecided cry cry

Is anyone in my in the same boat as me or has been in such situation before ? please share your experience how you got your passport back or what you've been able to do to get your passport back..make them even refuse me sef that one go better than to wait this long undecided see other people getting their visa, who send me go UK for heaven sake huh huh

My salary is 320k, though am not having up to 1m but close to
your salary is good...at most spend the maximum of 600k for one visit..but try to have about 1.2m in your account to be on a safe side..just my own 2 cents..those with better understanding should chip in their ones and twos.....

Guru in house...pls how much can one have in a salary account for six months before applying for a tourist visa?
it depends on your salary from my own observation..rule one with getting a UK visit visa..never spend more than 2months of your salary for one visit..you can have up to 3m in your account and your salary is 70k...the ECO will say they can't allow you travel using more than 2months of your salary...i would say as long as your salary is slightly more than 150k..you are good to go..and i noticed the ECO don't regard sponsor..they want to see how much you are worth on your own and how you can survive on your own..but 1m in your salary account is a good start..but it all falls back to your earnings as a salary worker..

Am in same problem as yours, submitted passport at ikeja since Nov 14 2017 and decision yet to be made. Am even tired of sending them mails, UKVi customer service are robots they are not serving people.
worst part is..each time i send them mail...i get charged..is this like another means of them getting money off poor nigerians..i have written to them 4 times and at the end, i feel like all i am getting is a copy paste message that says the same thing,..wait for 15 working days before contacting us..i am pretty sure they can't try this with other countries like canada and UK..asking their citizen to wait for that long..i am tired tbh

If they haven't made a decision then they haven't made a decision.
My mum's application was in from 24th April 2017 to 28th Oct last year.

I was even told to go to Sheffield cos I invited her Don't bother going anywhere.

It's a waiting game. You've got to be patient if you can't simply withdraw your application
chai this UK people have ruined my life..they have even ruined my year..so i am to wait for close to 7 months to get a 6months visa ? so what would happen to my other plans of traveling this year ? omg..i feel like crying embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed how would they issue a visa if when i wanted to travel has passed ? what is the assurance that one would even get this visa after waiting this long cry cry cry cry

Has anyone waited this long and still got their visa..the waiting game is killing, at least they should return the passport and when they are ready to issue or deny a visa..then ask for the passport back..
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Youngpablo180: 9:47pm On Mar 21, 2018
Why allow an embassy to keep your passport for up to 5 months, when you’re not apply for an immigrant visa. If you were a frequent traveler, you will understand. I would advise that you physically go to the embassy and asked for your passport back with or without a visa.
How can one visit the UK embassy in VI without an invitation..will the security men at the gate even allow me in talkless of listening to me,..i have been considering this options but i felt it would be a waste of time as i won't be allowed in without prior invitation by the embassy...i honestly don't know why the UK embassy would keep one's passport for this long,..i wish to make other travel arrangement but without my passport..there is literally nothing i can do...i got pissed when i received another mail asking me to wait for another 15 working days,..which means i won't get my passport until next month April..are this people serious at all ? at least other people receive mail about their application not being straightforward and the UKVI needing more time before making a decision..but to me,the only mail i got was the one that says something about my passport now waiting for decision and this has been since 4th of DEC 2017..i think they threw my application away lol grin grin grin
advice me the best way to retrieve my passport please thanks

hello House
my application since Nov 30th 2017 has been escalated three times after i contacted them by mail, which means i have paid 3 times...how long do i have to keep waiting for every 15working days
what can i do to get my passport back as this is becoming something else...i am honestly tired,..when did 15 working days turn into almost 100working days...and from my observation from other people who have waited this long to get their passport back...i think this problem only happens to those who submitted their application in Ikeja and not those in VI..correct me if i am wrong...

Hello house...I need a little advice from those with better experience...
As a company owner..would the embassy see it as money lodgment if you pay yourself 3 months salary(Dec,Jan and Feb) together in same day...starting each payment with “salary for Dec” “salary for Jan”

I’m asking so as not to fall into the category of money lodgement refusal...
Here is my timeline 3rd renewal. I completed my application dec 5 submitted December 10 @ ikeja, Traveling for Newyear alone (no kids yet) I applied as a business woman (into shoe n bags) i also stated that am also serving (nysc) because I collected a letter frm my employer. Submitted my 3 month bank statement of 2million naira balance, marriage certificate (i have always applied without my husband anyway)husband doesn’t like uk, hotel booking, landed property, flight itinerary, introduction letter, consent letter frm husband + i have not registered my business. Passport collected today still 2years visa Granted.# Same information ,what changed is am not more a student, now serving

If you applied as a business woman and you say your business is not registered?(No CAC)
what documents did you provide to claim you are a business woman? Did you submit any Tax cert ?
If your business is not registered then you submitted just your savings account of 3months huh

Have you always used 3months statement of account from all your very FIRST application till this your 3rd renewal? I thought they said Uk embassy ONLY accept 6months bank statement or is this luck..your reply would be really good as I’m still trying to understand how the Uk embassy works
Hello house. Pls help look into this bugdet/breakdown.. pls criticise and contribute.
So my friend earns 230k/month. (468£) She lives with her parent. Doesn't really spend her salàry except on fuel on weekends. She goes with staff bus. So she hardly touches salary. She had a small hair unregistered business (another bank account) but not regular income. Closing balance in salary account at this morning is 1,250m.(2543£) She wants to spend 5nights in London next month. Our proposed bugdet is as follows:
1. Hotel +Wi-Fi (kessington&Chelsea area)5days.............................245£
2. Flight .................................541£ ethiopian
3. Transportation ................. 20£ oyster card
4. Sightseeing .................. 70£
5. Lunch/dinner. .................. 90£ (hotel comes with freebreakfast)
6. Shopping .......................... 50£(mostly soverniers)
Total. .................................1,016£

Reduce your budget to around 800Pounds and you will be good to go...just my thought though because it looks like you will be spending 2months of your salary and a bit more ...to be on a “SAFER” side..don’t allow your budget to be more than 2months of your salary, if you earn 468pounda as salary...do not spend more than 800 to 900pounds to be on a safer side..just my thought though

embarassed embarassed embarassed Help guys,...I submitted my application since Nov 31, got an email from UKVI that my application has been received and under going decision blah blah

It has been more than 15working days and no mail from UKVI or TLS after the first email confirming that my application has been received
it is possible that my application could have been sent back but TLS failed to let me know by sending an email, is it also possible that the embassy doesn't send an email when a decision has been made.

i am just worried that my application is taking longer than expected

I earn 500k monthly as a business owner, i didn't add my savings account statement to my application, what are my chances with just my company account...

how much would you consider to be money lodgement considering the fact that there has been a constant inflow and outflow of money in this account and one time payment of 2m was paid in by me via transfer with 18m as turnover within 6months...

would it be wise to visit TLC to check if my passport has been returned since it is over 15working days alread.

@ all the Gurus in the house, help a brother pls

Docs submitted are
My CAC registered under 2years
Tax clearance certificate(ps: is the embassy bothered d about how much is paid and written on this certificate)
My company bank statement(I forgot to submit my personal bank statement).with a balance of 3m and turn over of 18m under 3months but all payment are hand deposits and cheque withdrawals(hope they won’t ask for source of income as my businesses is mostly done with cash at hand). They is constant inflow and out flow on cash in large sum for over 6months,hope they don’t see it as money lodgment.
My marriage certificate(church cert): do they accept church certificate same way they accept ikoyi wedding cert.
Photos of myself with my family(wife n daughter) even though I’m traveling alone.
My landed property doc(Survy papers and land purchase receipt, deed of assignments/agreement ).
I’m the owner of the company but I run a joint account with my wife on the company’s account, will they question this ?
Hotel booked on reservation
Flight ticket placed on reservation
Travel history: 4 African countries and 1 visit to Dubai.. 3 refusal history.

Please what are my chances securing this visit visa and how long do I have to continue waiting
The wait is killing me, somebody please help, it’s already more than 15working days
