nonfav: Have you cancelled an appointment before? I've never cancelled or rescheduled, so I found it a bit weird when they system said I was about to exceed my limit if I cancelled my Jan 4 appointment for June 19th. The guy I spoke to on Friday said the e-mail does not apply to me. I am not exactly sure what he means by that, i'm waiting to hear back from them. I sent an e-mail. I have not cancelled or rescheduled before. Only my emergency appointment that was rescheduled due to the protest. |

obexxy: good day people, please is there anyone here whose appointment is on the 13th of November who has not been able to make the emergency request on the CGI account as instructed by the embassy? Seems we all into this together. As at when I got the mail, that particular date they asked us to schedule wasn't available. I proceeded to booking an emergency appointment using the date I scheduled for in December. Enquired from them if that ok, only for them to mail me and say I should follow the instructions if i wanna use the nov 13 date. My challenge is it showing me a warning that if I cancel I will need to pay. And there is no emergency drop down at the top left of my page, probably cus I have booked once or something. Have you tried mailing them? |

nonfav: No, I did initially receive an Oct 26 date for my interview before it was moved to Nov 13 because of the protest but that wasn't reflected on the interview scheduling portal. I think youu should send a mail thehe niv address. They will mail you back. Disregard the automated reply. |

nonfav: Hi, I got the same e-mail. I have been able to fill the expedited appointment form but the problem is I had a Jan 4th interview date before I got an e-mail for the expedited one on Nov 13th. And I cant reschedule from January 4th to June 19th, not without having to pay another visa application fee. Has anyone who did the June 19th scheduling for expedited appointment purposes heard back? Have you cancelled or rescheduled befor? |

obexxy: Oh the date is active now.
How did you proceed with requesting an expedited date? I already had a date for December. I just proceeded in booking for an emergency. I thought of rescheduling to the June 2021 date, but it was not available. |

What's is funny is that the ppl that I have come across supporting Trump can't perfectly articulate a sensible reason why they support him. Most believe what their pastors told them, stuff like Biden is working with the deep states, how covid is a tool for Biden, Obama relationship with gays/antichrist. Some of these folks are sensible to think on their own but they are blinded by religion. |

Milkshakes01: I don’t think you need to pick the date on your CGI website any longer, all you need to do is go to the embassy on the said day with a printed copy of the email sent to you along with other relevant documents. It was stated in the mail to pick a certain date they made available then book the emergency... |

obexxy: No I wasnt
The date is not active
And that's my dilemma now.
Were you? Same here. The date isn't active, what I did was to proceed with requesting for emergency and following the instructions in the mail I.e uploading a copy of the mail in attachments. |

meritdee: All of these do not show that you have any connection with the school. From all your factors, I'd advice you stick to relationship with your professors.
Go on the research area webpage of your chosen program. Search and pick a research title that you feel you'll be comfortable talking about (Since you've chosen the school at this point, you just gotta pick one even if you fancies none), read the overview for better understanding and reach out to the lead researcher/professor.
Please do some research on the topic before reaching out though. If you are lucky, the prof will reply you with some of the milestones already achieved and a snippet into what they are doing next (you're already having conversation with your prof and you also have key info for your next interview). However, in the case that you didn't receive a response, you just have to hold-on to the information you dug up from your research (the overview, your findings and how you think you can improve the research team) for your next interview.
For your next interview: * The Research title (Do not pick USArmy or NSA funded research. E get why) * Know the Professor name * You have been invited to join the research team * Summary of The Research overview Your findings and how you intend to improve the team when you join them.
I assumed your focus is Cybersecurity. Reason for the italicized in the first bullet.
Be concise and confident during the interview.
P.S. You won't look confident speaking about fabricated info. So please do some research. Hello, my school has a partnership with thee airforce base, air force research institute and some other higher institutions In it's environs, where you can take some elective courses. I plan on incorporating this in why I choose the sch. I hope it won't be a problem considering the military and nasa stuff you mentioned. Thanks |

Sugarxx: I think you should pick the date in December. I don’t see this ending this week and they might not work on Monday Thanks for the input. What if Monday works out but I have already schedule an appointment for December, will it affect my interview in anyway? |

Hello, I have an emergency appointment for Monday and due to the ongoing pandemonium, I'm scared the consulate might remain shut. There has also been difficulty in my sponsor getting his statement of account from the bank, as a result of the protest also. My question is can I book an appointment as the first week of December is available just in case my emergency appointment is not possible or if I don't get my financial documents ready by then and will this affect me in any way? Please I need you guys input. Thanks |
