10 Super Kitchen Tricks You Must Know

Knowledge they say is power.
Today,i will guide you through 10 really simple kitchen tricks and i promise you are going to love them.

1.When next you are cooking beans and you want it done quickly,get an iron spoon and put it inside the boiling beans.
This will help the beans get done sooner than you expected it.
Potash also helps in doing this but some people dont go well with potash due to its acidic content.

2.We all know that Canda(kpomo) takes a long time to get cooked.
Now,if you want your canda to soften easily,put chewing gum into the boiling meat and in the next few minutes,it will soften.
Note:don’t put the chewing gum that you have already bereaved of its sugar.lol. Put the fresh chewing gum and let it do the magic.

3.Is the food too salty?
There is a way out,rub palm oil around the pot containing the food and allow it to heat for some minutes.
The food will almost become insipid that you will have to add salt again to make it tasty.
Or better still,peel a potato and drop in the food.

4.So you bought tomatoes or citrus like orange,lemon etc and decided to keep them in the fridge?
Biko don’t do it.
If you already did,please go and remove them.
Why?
Refridgerators has very low temperature and this reduces the flavor and taste of those fruits.
Take note.

5.Did you burn a pot of rice?
They will surely call you a bad cook for this but don’t worry.This is what you have to do to get rid of the burnt taste;Get one or two slices of bread(depends on your pot size) and place it on top the rice for about 5 minutes.
This will get rid of the burnt flavour.

6.Do you want to know if your eggs are still fresh?

Get a bowl and pour water into it.About 5 inches will do.

Now put your eggs in it.Watch out for the ones that stays perfectly at the bottom.They are still fresh.
If one end happens to tip up,its not very fresh.Make sure you use it as soon as possible.
If the egg floats on the water,its no longer fresh.

7.To bar ants from entering your kitchen,all you need to do is to discover where they always come from.
Get vaseline and rub it there and the little things wont dare cross it.
If they happen to be coming under a door,get and chalk and draw a line on the floor.They wont cross it.

8.If after making your stew and you find out its too greesy or contains much fat.Put an ice cup in it.

The ice cube works like a magnet on the ice.When the ice magnets the fat to itself,easily scoop out with our spoon.
You should repeat with another ice.

9.You might have a bottle of oil in the kitchen but you are afraid to use it because you used it to fry something before.And you don’t want that taste on your food.

You can still use it without tasting whatever it was used to fry.

Get a piece of fresh ginger and put in the oil while heating it.

10.Except you want your bananas to ripen quickly,don’t store them in bunch because bananas emits some gases that makes other bananas to ripen fast.

If you want your bananas to stay fresh for longer,separate them.

1.THE APPRENTICES(umu boi)

These ones are normally called “umu boi” or “boy-boy”.

Storiesmagic.com is made to believe they dominate the market because in almost every shop there is an apprentice.
They hustle and struggle all day to make profits for their masters.

At the end of the agreed years(usually 5,6 or 7 years) they are freed and given capital to start their own business and become a man of their own.
Apprenticeship is never easy,during this period,the apprentices are almost slaves of their master as they do whatever they are told to do both at home and at the market.

You must not go out on sundays (Only church if you are even allowed to.

No girlfriend. If you are caught with one,sorry,your master will send you parking with the allegation that you are giving her his money.

2.THE RAFFLE GUYS

These ones do not own a shop in the market.
Dem no get any shop o.
But you will see them every now and then with shoprite breads,bottle of groundnuts and drinks looking for whoever wants to try luck.
If you want to play,they will give you a card of up to fifteen figures and you are allowed to tick three.
If one out of the three you ticked happens to be the one enclosed on the other side of the card,you win.Imagine.

If not, bye bye to your money.

3.THE PICK POCKETS AND HANDBAG SNATCHERS

They just wake up in the morning.Take their bath and set out to the market looking for people to put tears on their face.

Once in a while,some of them are caught and beaten to stupor,stripped and disgraced near Emeka ofor plaza.

4.THE MASTERS(ndi oga)

Some of them don’t come to market early.

They come whenever they feel like because they have one or two apprentice boys in their shop at the market.

But some “ndi oga” are wicked.
When its almost time to settle their “nwa boi”,they will level a big allegation against the poor boy and send him away empty handed after about six years of loyal service with hard labour and limitations.
God dey sha.

5.THE SALES GIRLS

Some “ndi oga” employ the services of sales girls in their shop and pay them monthly.

The sales girl in turn uses her beauty to attract buyers especially male buyers.

What baffles me is that you will see a guy calling on a fellow man to buy from him but when a sales girl comes the man will ignore the guy and follow the girl.
I just tire.

The disgusting thing in the sales girls matter is that some of them sleep with their boss.
Qoute me anywhere.

6.THE HAND CARRY PEOPLE

Christmas time is their season.
They usually carry one bundle of clothe in their hand.
Before you know it,it will be two.

But they meet their waterloo sometimes and are stripped and made to walk round the market with the stolen goods on their head.

7.THE GIRLFRIEND SEEKERS

Guys do this most of the time.
You will see them in the market looking for girls to toast.
Before the end of the day,they will surely get one.

8.THE MANUAL LABOURERS(ndi job)

These are young boys normally referred to as”ndi job”.
They are mostly young hausa boys.
If you need to bring out large goods from the warehouse,they will do it for you and you pay them.
Or you bought many goods,they are always there for you.

9.THE HAWKERS

There is nothing they won’t hawk in main market.
They hawk food.
Pure water.
Biscuits and bread.
They even hawk medicine and drugs(paracetamol and the rest)

10.THE BEGGARS(ndi Aririo)

Beggars parade the market everyday begging for alms.

Some go in groups singing.

But you know what?

Some of them are fake.

Some pretend to be blind,others pretend they cant hear.
When people find out,that beggar will pray he or she wasnt born because of the beating he or she will receive.

Your experience at the Next Movie Star Academy?

It was a great experience and that was in 2013 if I am not mistaken. When you go for any reality show, one should understand that at some point, someone will be shown the way out irrespective of their outstanding performance. I was also evicted because I was troublesome.

An actress recently said her big boobs brought her to limelight, should we expect such statement from you some day?

Anything could push anybody to say anything. I am pretty, tall, confident and have a beautiful smile. So mine will be a combination of many things and not my big boobs alone.
Nollywood often celebrates light-skinned actresses, do you see your skin as a barrier in your career?

Not any longer. We are gradually leaving that myopic belief. I believe my craft will sell me.

(Cuts in) But we have many actresses who were dark-skinned when they came into the industry but have turned light-skinned over night?

I am saying this categorically that I do not support bleaching in any form.

Any man in the picture?

I am single but not searching. I am independent and working hard to make money.

Will you agree that finding love for a rich lady might be difficult ?

A true and complete man should not be intimidated by a woman’s success. In fact, a man should help his woman become more successful.

Don’t you think this is one of the reasons why we have many spinsters in Nollywood?

I totally disagree. These actresses have not just met the right man. Regardless of your chosen career, the right man will find you someday. We have A-list actresses who are married with kids. A good woman will meet her own man at the right time. We have men who will never settle for actresses for one reason or the other. But my point of view is this, it is not what you do, but who you are.

What will you never be found doing?

I am very spontaneous. I will never say never. Please, don’t make me shoot myself in the foot.

Secrets of sustaining healthy relationship?

Discovering one’s self is key to sustaining a healthy relationship.


Your definition of a successful movie?

A successful movie is that which impacts positively on the viewer. A movie people can remember for a long time is a successful one.

Intimate things about you?

I am left-handed, like light-skinned guys, very emotional, can’t date a poor man and would have preferred having a bigger butt.

Are you saying if a man has all the attributes but poor, it’s a ‘no’ from Bolaji?

Relationships are about responsibility. A man can’t have all the qualities of a good man and be poor. A woman should not date or marry a man who cannot be responsible for her. It goes both ways anyways. It’s better to be single than cutting corners in a relationship. If a man has all the prospects but poor, then his goal at that time should be finding money and not a woman. If you can’t take care of your partner, then the relationship is faulty.

Can you quit acting?

I can’t quit acting for anything.

What if your boyfriend asks you to quit?

My boyfriend has no right over me.

Many actors seem to be living a fake life, why?

It is not our fault. Being a celebrity is an illusion of somebody who is perfect and we are not. Meaning, we have to act being perfect.

How often do you have s*x?

I don’t have s*x and will remain like that for as long as I can hold it.

Why?

That is the way I want it .

An actress once said, it is better to have s*x outside a relationship than having s*x in a relationship and suffer heart-break. Your take?

I am very emotional and as such, cannot sleep with a man without any form of commitment.

Will you leave if your man cheats?

You might be forced to think twice about wearing your shoes these days. A woman has been left terrified after discovering a deadly brown snake curled up inside her favourite boots.

Dailymail reports that in a picture posted by Snake Catchers Adelaide, the slithering reptile can be seen getting cosy at the bottom of a woman’s UGG in the coastal suburb of Moana.
‘We got a call from a lady in Moana on Thursday after she saw a tail of something slithering into her boot,’ snake catcher Ange Broadstock told Daily Mail Australia.
‘It was a cold day, so I reckon the he was just looking for somewhere warm to curl up.’

‘If we get a warm day here and there, the snakes come out for a bit of sun,’ she said
‘ I think this guy just got caught out.’

Ms Broadstock said recovering the snake was relatively easy, pouring the snake from the UGG boot into the waiting snake bag.
She says the snake will stay in her care until the weather warms up.

A new born baby with 31 fingers and toes but no thumbs on either palm, is set to undergone the first of three surgical operations to correct his rare birth abnormalities.

An 8-month-old Chinese baby nicknamed Yuanyuan, who was born with 15 fingers and 16 toes (31 digits in total) as well as without thumbs or big toes, is set to undergo a corrective surgery as medical doctors are in the process of removing the extra digits and reshaping the child’s remaining digits over three stages of operations.
The baby’s digits whose family are from Hunan Province in southern China, are asymmetrical meaning that they will need to be reshaped, as doctors say that the surgery will be long and a long period of recovery will be needed once the operations are complete.

It was learnt that the child’s mother was also born with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.
According to Dailymail, Doctor Xu Jihai from No 6 Ningbo Hospital told reporters that the baby’s surgery will be completed in three phases.

The first phase involves removing the toes and ensuring that the child is able to walk. Once that is finished, the second phase involves making thumbs for the infant and removing additional fingers.
While the third would completely reshape the child’s fingers. Once the phases are finished, there will be enough time for Yuanyuan to recover before starting school.

“Eyewitness said a jeep dropped her off in the morning at about past 7,she was bleeding bin the mouth and leg. She was trying to point at something and talk but was difficult for her.”

one of the leading commercial e-commerce companies in Nigeria has encountered a massive loss as Nigeria endures a turbulent time in recession.

Jumia, Rocket Internet’s e-Commerce group in Nigeria and Africa has just released its 2016 half year consolidated result showing the company recorded a net loss of EUR35.4 million within the period.
When compared to its net loss recorded last year, the company has managed to reduce its loss by 19%. In the first half of 2015, the company recorded a net loss of EUR 43.7 million.

Also on the topline, Jumia’s revenue also fell by 56%. With the first half of this year, net revenue was EUR33.0 million compared to last year when it recorded EUR75.8 million f0r the first half of 2015.

These photos have taken over social media since they emerged.
The photos show a young Nigerian man carrying bags and walking away to an unknown destination.
The man in the photos, identified as Godgift Azubike, posted the images on Facebook page from where it went viral.
Azubike is seen carrying a “Ghana-must-go” bag and two other bags. He said people should call him when the opposition takes over, that this is not the change he voted for.

A man who stole his neighbour’s goat, killed it and wanted to sell it to prospective buyers was caught by angry residents who paraded him in the Gwagwalada area of Abuja.
A young man identified simply as Linus, from Phase 1 area of Police barrack in Gwagwalada, Abuja, was few hours ago, apprehended for stealing his neighbour’s goat.
The suspect who reportedly killed the goat and attempted to sell it at a nearby abattoir, was caught and paraded with the dead goat and made to pay N5,000 in compensation to the owner.
