The Presidency has rejected allegations by opposition politicians and their cohorts that President Muhammadu Buhari declined assent to the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2018, because he was against e-voting and the use of card readers in the 2019 elections.

It made this known on Sunday in a statement sent to yourtotalneeds.com by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President.

According to the statement, the President’s recent decision to decline assent to the Bill had no effect on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s use of card readers for next year’s polls.

It further clarified that the issue was not raised either by the Executive or the Legislature in the latest review of the Bill that was declined.

Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki said that Nigeria is more divided under the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari who, according to him, cannot give what he (Buhari) does not have.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday faulted the purchase of Presidential Nomination form for President Muhammadu Buhari by a group.

Unknown gun men have assasinated Mr bolade Yusuf Aileru.
He was assassinated along Lagos Ibadan express way on 13 of August 2018.
