Have you requested a GCMS note? do you have your UCI number and your application number if yes then request for a GCMS note using your email and that will tell you in detail what is going on with your application .

I raised a webform July-2025 and got this response from Canada-Lagos Immigration Centre. Tho, my agent is kinda hard mehnnn. He wont give out the login details easily. I had My upfront since July-2024, had my biometrics Feb-2025..Guys,, plz,,no insults ooo,,plz,,what are my chances of getting a PPR especially since i had my biometrics in Feb-2025. (V1122223343)
Also, when i went for my biometrics at VFS Centre, i was told to drop my own email address and contact detail that i'll definitely get a response directly from IRCC. it has been 8months and counting. no response except the one in the screenshot after i raised a webform.

I also heard that getting a response from Canada-Lagos Immigration Centre is positive sign even if i didnt use the registered mail to raise the webform. Source said that it simply means that my application is now being handle in Lagos an not Nairobi and possibly that the final stage.. I might be wrong but i just need clarity without insults..

Hi, do you have your UCI number? If you do, and I see you also have your Application number, it’s best to request your GCMS notes using your own email address. You’ll be requesting an update on your application status, and they will reply with details of your case—whether it has been refused, approved, or (God forbid) banned. Thanks.

Tracker site showing Visitor visa document number and expiry date but also at same time showing background verification still ongoing but for eligibility, completed. 🤷🏽‍♂️

On the New IRCC site no Passport request message. And similar to the tracker site, eligibility completed, background check in progress, and for Application decision: 'No decision made'. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Is something amiss? Or I just need to exercise more patience.

- from the next drop-down, select foreign national outside of Canada
- fill out your required information in the boxes below
(Use your Nigerian address and phone number pls)
- Pick yes to the question about requesting information on your behalf if so
- pick member of the public for the category that best describes you
- Pick electronic copy for how you prefer to receive your notes/records
- click continue
- on the next page, pick privacy act on the 1st drop-down
- select English in the next drop-down
- select case files for the type of records
- fill out all necessary information below(for UCI number, use the format XX-XXXX-XXXX)
- in the comment box write a short intro and your request. Eg:

I believe the best time is now. The Canada people are unpredictable, some applications are treated speedily while some others may take time.

I once used it to process a visit and it was seamless, approval came in no time. The following year, I wanted to use it again and applied, the approval never came! I was already in Europe as I planned the stopover on my return, I was almost stranded as they refused to board me, I had to cough out extra money to quickly change my flight itinerary before check-in closes to cut out my supposed Doha stop over groove. Do you know if they have started approving Nigerians again on the app?

For Doha, you can no longer apply on the website. When I did mine, I used a registered Discover Qatar travel agent. She booked the ticket, which you must pay for. With a confirmed ticket, they will process your visa and hotel together, and you must pay for all of them in advance. took about 4 days, and it was issued.

The company I work for. There is no reason for me to be refused.. Walahi. I have requested for Gsms. Maybe there are something else like my mom is not working in Canada.. Government is taking care of her. But I wrote that I will be going with my cash up to #15m for just 7days. I dnt want to go now. She had been pressuring me since 2023 but I cant leave my family here in Nigeria just for 1 days. I love my family so much.

This is just my humble opinion, and of course, the GCMS notes will provide more clarity. From what I can gather, the visa officer may have doubts about your intention to return, possibly for the following reasons:

You mentioned your company was sponsoring a 7-day vacation to visit your mum. As others have pointed out, this might raise questions—why would your employer fund a personal family visit? Did you submit supporting documents like your payslip or a bank statement showing your monthly income, along with how you were able to save up the 15 million in your account? These are likely the kinds of questions the visa officer would be considering too.

Did you include a letter of invitation from your mum? And did you provide evidence of your relationship and explain why you’re visiting her?

What ties do you have to your home country, and did you clearly demonstrate those?

I’m still learning too, and I’m sharing this based on what I’ve picked up here and from mistakes I’ve personally made. Hopefully, once you receive the GCMS notes, you’ll have a clearer idea of what to adjust if you decide to reapply.

Most times, background verification remains like that even after a decision has been taken; what is most important is your status update, which says -Closed, and your eligibility, which says - Complete. So the next step is to get your GCMS note that will explain all to you, and the sooner you apply for it, the better, cos it takes like a month to get.

Hello, this link only shows you the status of your application. From this, your application was closed in March, which was the last update, and eligibility is complete. Now, from the link, we cannot tell if you were refused or banned. But, you were not approved, as you would see your visa number and expiration dates on this link, but nothing is there. At this point, you need to confront your agent about what type of refusal was given I hope it is not that you have been banned, because this decision came in since March, so the application is closed. At this point, please apply for your GCMS note so you can see the reason for the refusal. This is why he is not replying to you; your case is closed, so the only way to know what is going on is to either contact him again or request the note.

Yes, when you get to the bank, tell them you want a My bank statement, aka E-statement. They will ask you which embassy you want to send it to, tell them Canada, and then give them the duration you want. They will do the back end and submit it, and then print out the one page, which is what you will upload in some cases, like GTBank, they will send it to your email. In this case, you are doing it for two accounts, so you will have two pages, one for each account that is all you will upload. I hope this helps

I believed my email was used because I filled in my details including my email address on the form that was given at the VFS center on the biometric day and I also received a mail from the VFS immediately after my biometric.

The fact that you are not getting any email regarding the actual application means he used his email for the application. I hope he is willing to give you your login details . Just search using my user name, you will see i have posted the GCMS steps several times. I hope this helps , if you used your email for the actual application, i would have given you a link you can use to track the application but you need to have access to the email used on the application because a security code will be sent to that email to activate the tracking account.

I just want to know what’s up with my application since I can’t communicate with the agent.

Good morning that is why i am saying put in for a GCMS note this is not only used when some one has been refused you can also use this to know the status of your application and even know the documents that where submitted that way you will see if you have been refused or Godforbid banned, So while you are trying to get through to him request for the note. Another question: Did he use your email address or his own for this application?

First you need your login details but I am sure your agent will not give that to you, Secondly you can request for a GCMS note to know the status of your application but you need your UCI number and your application number. do you have that?

This is also very very possible, so they cannot access it.

I applied may 31st, the duration was six months from December 2024 last year to may 2025 for the two banks

They are requesting your account statement to be sent in the[b] my bank statement format[/b]. This is a one-page statement that comes with a Tracking number and password, and normally, the bank would have already sent it to them. All they need is the cover page with the tracking number and password, so that you are not uploading a lot of pages at once. I would ask did you uploaded a single-page statement with a tracking number and password, or if you downloaded your statement in Pages like a normal account statement? I have attached a My Bank Statement format from Google as to what it looks like, and all banks provide it. Kindly confirm if this is how you submitted your account statement for both accounts.

Pls I need advice on what to do, my family VV was denied yesterday morning.
Biometric date was Feb 10th for a church conference coming up May15.
Reason stated was
I am not satisfied you have a legitimate business purpose in Canada. It's also the same on my wife's profile. And my son's who is under 3 reason was different.
His reason stated that I am not satisfied you will leave at the end of your stay. Also the purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
Does this mean the conference isn't legitimate or what because a friend of mine also received the same reason as mine and my wife and other of my friend reason is same as my son.
Pls what can we do in this situation. Your candid advice will go along way for me and my friends on what next to do. Thanks

Good morning. I'm sorry to hear about your family's VV refusal. The response you have stated is the generic response given when a refusal is given. The best way to proceed is to apply for a GCMS note. This will explain in detail why you were refused, and that way, you will know what you need to do if you intend to reapply.

If you read backwards on this trend, you will see where the steps to apply for the GCMS note were posted; it takes about a month to get it.

Good morning. This is my opinion; at the end of the day, what you want to do is more important. But I do not think applying for your GCMS will affect your application, you are simply asking to know the status of your application, and the agent does not have to know you are doing that. You have waited so long; what harm will it cause for you to request to know why the delay? You have nothing to lose by requesting your GCMS note. But as I said, this is my personal opinion, you have the final say on what you want to do.

What you need is your UCI number and your Application number, contact your agent( i am not sure he will give it to you ) and request for the numbers with out that you are at the mercy of your agent.
