Check Avits calendar if it shows booked below, if no mail yet send a reminder and hope the email address is correct and has the state department gov logo? You only need one mail with all info and reply to it. They should respond.

Please I need a suggestion or advice
I applied for b1/b2 tourist visa in 2022 and got appointment for Dec 10th 2024. I attended interview and it was successful but I've not received my passport back.
I've not gotten any email that it is ready for pick up but I went on the ois site to see if it was ready and it showed me its ready for pick up and I booked appointment for Thursday for pickup but this morning and went on visa status check and it's saying application received and opened etc😀 and nothing else.
I'm confused.
Should I just go to the scheduled appointment or I should wait to get an email, it's almost a month since my interview, I thought maybe because of the festivities[/quote]

Hi everyone. I am a silent reader but thought to share this to help someone here. I made payment in July 2024 and couldn’t get an appt date before AVITS. Avits was a mess for me , duplicate user, and many more problems until i could access the calendar but couldn’t get a date. Finally i read someone’s post here in December who mentioned how he sent an email using the V44 - unable to schedule appointment on Avits as Subject to lagosNIV@state.gov (explained my issue and attached some info, DS-160, MRV receipt attached, dob, passport number, reg email, full name). I followed same procedure, sent a mail on 10 Dec, got a reply on 19 December and was booked for 30 Dec 2024 7:15 am)
(Please note that I was denied on 30 May 2023, I had/ have a good job)

Me: I am going to Canada next year to visit my sister and her family and on my return to Lagos, my sister and myself have planned a short sister vacation in Newyork.

Vo: what does you sister do in Canada, student?

Me: No, she is a citizen, lives and works there

Vi: what do you do for work?

Me: I told her my field, my job title and where I work:

Vo: oh what does you job entail?

Me: I explained briefly (I write intelligence reports on conflict, pol violence, organized crime)

Vo: oh what is the name of your organization?

Me: I repeated that and then she ran a search

Vo: Oh i see your company is based out of thhe UK. So you work from Nigeria?

Vo:Have you travelled out of Nigeria?

Me: Yes, I was in Canada last year ( NB: which was September 2023 after my US visa was denied I applied to see my sister) i didn’t say this part though, I have been to the UK twice, Rwanda and the UAE

Vo: Can i see your old passport?

Me: handed her and she checked my prev UK visas.

Vo: Are you married?

Me: no

Vo: Any siblings here

Me: No

Vo: any family member here

Me: my mom lives with me

Vo: how many days are you spending ?

Me: 6 days.

Vo: I will approve your visa now and you will receive an email in one week.

NB: I looked into her eyes fearlessly and spoke confidence and I was very relaxed because either ways I was still travelling to CA, US visa or not. All info is the truth. After i got denied in 2023, i applied for a CA visa and travelled for 2 weeks. I watched ZF Visa videos on Tiktok which made me understand more about how to slip in ties in responses and DS160. Lastly, make sure you know what is exactly in your DS-160. Consistency is key. I wish everyone the best. I hope this helps those who have interviews in the coming days, weeks etc.

Intro letter from company stating o am on leave and my purpose of visit

Documents to demonstrate I cater for my mom here in Lagos including CO of her property (pictures of myself and mom)

WhatsApp chat to support someone i loaned money to who refunded

Pictures of myself and my friend ( person inviting) in Nigeria and during my last visit to the UK in June

A detailed cover letter highlighting my detailed day to day itinerary, ties back home, finances, some deposits in my account etc

My friend and his wife’s BRP

His employment letter

Council tax
( I did not need his bank statement as i stated i would be staying in a hotel close to theirs and also i am solely responsible for my trip)

Budget for trip : app 1570 GBP, 5 nights

Above all try to remain truthful, my disposable income was not stable for 2 months with little difference, i highlighted purpose( it could be just saying that your offered little help to people or so).
