Wilfred Ndidi has stated that Nigeria’s players are now looking forward to their next game against Iceland on Friday at Volgograd Arena after failing to impress in their opening 2018 World Cup tie. On Saturday, the three-time African champions succumbed 2-0 to Croatia and will have to secure a win against Heimir Hallgrimsson’s men to brighten their chances of avoiding an early exit from the competition, and the Leicester City midfielder said the Super Eagles have put the setback behind them and now focused on a better display on Friday. “Even though we are players, we are also Nigerians. The loss is behind us, we die there in the next game,” Ndidi tweeted. The three-time African champions have only failed to make it to the second round of the competition in 2002 and 2010 editions. source:https://www.infonewsnigeria.com/discussion/1318/we-ll-die-against-iceland-ndidi?new=1 16 Likes

1) SHEHU NOT TO BE TRUSTED : Gernot Rorh's decision to start Shehu backfired, As the defender struggled to cope with the pace of the game. Shehu should be dropped for Ebuehi in the next game. 2) UZOHO CAN'T PASS : The Nigerian Goalkeeper seem not to be aware of the importance of goalkeeper's contributing to attack by making good passes from the back 3) MIKEL NEEDS TO BE SACRIFICED : He didn't keep the possession well, He won't bring energy to the midfield, he was no legs and he wasn't a defensive asset for the super eagles. Rohr needs either to take his captain backward to join Ndidi in shielding the defense or drop him ultimately 4) SET PIECE IS A HUGE WORRY FOR THE SUPER EAGLES: For the 3rd consecutive game the super eagles have conceded a goal from a set-piece(freekick or corner kick) 5) OPENING FIXTURE HEADACHE : The last time super eagles won their opening match was 20 years ago in france SOURCE: https://www.infonewsnigeria.com/discussion/1317/five-lessons-learnt-from-nigeria-vs-croatia#latest LALASTICLALA, UBOMA, MYND44, MISSYB3, SEUN, FYNESTBOI

The Operatives of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Office, have arrested a fake school operator allegedly awarding the National Certificate of Education, NCE and Bachelor of Education degree without authorization and accreditation. The suspect, John Ogbonnaya, was arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He allegedly registered Havana International School of Arts and Science in 2017 with two other suspects: Monday Nwapi and Mrs Justina Okafor. They are holding lectures in two centres in Port Harcourt: Brilliant International Schools, Nsukka Street, Diobu and Paragon Citiy Light College, Agip area. Since the inception of the main school, scores of unsuspecting students have been defrauded and made to pay for application forms, school fees and project fees. The students were made to believe that Havana International School of Arts & Science was affiliated to four different institutions: Abia State College of Education( Technical); Ebenezer College of Education, Edda, Ebonyi State, Enugu State College of Education and University Of Calabar, Cross River State. Investigations by the Commission showed that, Havana International School of Arts and Science had no valid affiliation with any of the four Institutions. The National Commission for Colleges of Education, NCCE, had in 2008 barred all Colleges of Education in Nigeria from operating Satellite Campuses or Study Centres. Havana School of Arts and Science allegedly flouted the directive and was operating illegally. The suspect would soon be charged to court. Following the lethargic 2-0 loss to Croatia in their opening game of the 2018 World Cup, the Super Eagles have been adjudged as the 29th best of the 32 teams participating at the World Cup after the first round of games. British newspaper Daily Telegraph, in an appraisal of all the teams, rated Nigeria has only better than Saudi Arabia which lost the opening game of the competition 5-0 to host country Russia and debutants Panama who lost 3-0 to Belgium. Nigeria’s listless performance, the paper wrote thusly: ” A horrible performance from a group of players who didn’t seem to grasp quite how important their opening game at the World Cup was. Whether the manager’s fault or those in green shirts, there was no urgency, no great surge to try and rescue a point, an isolated striker and full-backs who weren’t allowed to get forward. Nigeria should be so much better than this.” Spain and Portugal, who played out an enthralling 3-3 draw came in first and second while Mexico, which defeated reigning champions Germany were rated third, Brazil, who were held by Switzerland and England, late 2-1 winner over Tunisia round up the top five in the ratings. Nigeria will play her second game on Friday against Iceland at the Volgograd Arena. Only an outright win can keep the Super Eagles hopes of staying in the competition alive. This is a possible formation the super eagles coach can use against iceland. A top US intelligence official warned football fans traveling to Russia for the World Cup 2018 that their phones and computers could be hacked by Moscow’s cyber spies. William Evanina, Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, said that in Russia, even people who believe they are too unimportant to be hacked can be targeted. “Anyone traveling to Russia to attend the World Cup 2018 should be clear-eyed about the cyber risks involved,” Evanina said in a statement. If you’re planning on taking a mobile phone, laptop, PDA, or other electronic device with you — make no mistake — any data on those devices (especially your personally identifiable information) may be accessed by the Russian government or cyber criminals.” For devices they take with them, they should remove the battery when it is not in use, he said source:https://www.infonewsnigeria.com/discussion/1132/russians-will-hack-phones-computers-u-s-spy-admits#latest lalasticlala mynd44 missyb3 seun do the needful

The National Industrial Court, Abuja on Wednesday dismissed a suit filed against the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for failure of the claimant to establish that the termination of his appointment was wrongful. The claimant, Ahmed Ndako, approached the court, praying it to declare the termination of his appointment as wrongful and illegal. Ndako also sought for reinstatement, payment of his salaries, entitlements and general damages to the tune of N20 million. Delivering judgment, Justice Rakiya Haastrup said the claimant’s appointment was terminated in line with provisions of the Public Service Rules 030301 (G), on grounds of misconduct. Haastrup also said since the claimant failed to prove the terms and conditions of his employment and how the defendant breached it, he cannot succeed in his claim for wrongful and illegal termination. The Judge went further to say ” it is trite law, that a party who alleges wrongful or unlawful termination must establish his case. “The claimant having thus failed in his first relief, which was to declare his termination as wrongful, have equally failed in the entire reliefs. “Accordingly, all reliefs of the claimant are all dismissed and the lone issue is hereby resolved in favour of the defendant” Eniola Olabanji, the defence counsel, in his submission said the claimant’s appointment as a Maintenance Officer, was terminated over his involvement in a crime at the defendant’s premises after closing hours in April, 2016. Olabanji said the claimant was seen by security officers fleeing from the scene of the crime in his car. The Counsel said the claimant was subsequently issued a query, faced a disciplinary panel which indicted him and was dismissed from the service of the board. (NAN).
