Nigeria's first indigenous chartered accountant, Akintola Williams, has been confirmed dead. According to the reports from the Ogun State government, the Doyen of accounting died at 9: 00 a.m. on Monday 11th September at his residence in Lagos at the age of 104.

Reports have it that Pa Williams died in his sleep in the early hours of Monday. He recently celebrated his birthday on August 9th. To get more information and a brief history of Akintola Williams, you can check here

Akintola Williams was a pioneer chartered accountant in Nigeria and Africa and among the founders of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and The Nigerian Stock Exchange.
