As I write you this letter, I'm not happy and not fulfilled. I'm getting married in less than one month to my boyfriend of 4years, but I must confess that nothing and I mean absolutely nothing interest and excites me about this guy. I don't feel complete with this guy at all..

Don't marry because of what people will (or will not) say. Marry for your (and your partner's) happiness. If it ain't working for you now it's never gonna work. All the advice about "spicing" the thing comes across to me as strange. You need to feel it deep in your guts that this is the guy you wanna spend your life with, anything outside that, don't take the plunge. I question your decision to accept to marry him knowing how you feel (or don't feel) about him. Call off the wedding and deal with the disappointment now irrespective of what "people" will say. It's an easier option than dealing with a life of misery.

Now it's easy to condemn this woman because she obeyed her pastor's "prophecy" - and her own case has made news. The truth is that this has become a worrisome phenomenon in our society today: "my pastor said this", or "my pastor said that". In some cases causing negative interference in homes.
It beats my imagination why you need to consult a third party (pastor, prophet or like our forefathers, Ifa) to make a decision. I've long thought that as a people we really didn't shed our pre-Christianity oracle-consulting habits. We make ourselves gullible because we just must have a clairvoyant in a religious garb read our futures for us.
What role does love and compatibility play in all of this? Where is the heart? You just must marry someone because you have been told that he/she is right for you? Excuse me, by whom? You know what, I don't buy any of that crap coming from anyone. If I feel good about you (and the feeling is mutual), then I'll want to be with you. It has to be my decision, not coming from a magician with some hocus-pocus hogwash.
Part of the problem to me seems to stem from certain fear factors: the fear of being responsible for decisions; the fear of the unknown (tomorrow) etc. Perhaps when we start to apply ourselves more (rather than depend on a third party purportedly with the key to a supernatural gateway) in our own individual situations, then we'll probably have fewer of such situations described in this post.
