It depends on the airline. I had an experience with Qatar Airway and my bag was delivered to my doorsteps.
If you are asked to come pick your bags i do not see why you should go and pick the bags.

You should get an email from OIS. I got an email 2 days after issue. You will have the option to pick up from OIS or DHL. DHL is free. OIS is not.

Also, is there a different pickup location for Dropbox applicants and those that attended an interview?

If its only the infant, there most likely wont be an interview. They'll just collect the passport and documents from you.

11/03/2025: Visa issued.

Most likely the OIS Fee. Everyone got a refund. It is not the visa fee that was returned.

I just got a refund of the US Visa fee I paid, which I assume is for one of my parents. Both already have scheduled appointments for Dropbox and interview on February 27, 2025. Has anyone experienced this?

Good morning. I don't think there has been any 'official' confirmation yet from the US embassy regarding the drop box issue. I suggest that since you already have a date, you should go to the OIS office on that day and hear from the horses mouth. Please keep us posted on the out come.

hello people, what is this news i am hearing about US Embassy suspending dropbox? I have a drop off in two weeks at the OIS. Is the information confirmed yet? What happens to IW waiting for drop off? Any useful information will be appreciated. Thank you.

I paid at the counter of the bank i did not see the annotation they're talking about.
It was just the regular questions until it took me to the IW page.

Meanwhile, can someone tell me the procedure at OIS. I will drop off my documents on the 26th of February, 2025.

Someone just approached me of having the same issue. She was taken to a regular appointment calendar even when she is qualified for Interview Waiver. I recommend that she cancel the appointment and pay another fee as the only solution to get out of it.

She agreed. So I cancelled the appointment, Pay another fee ONLINE using a Card and answered the questions. This time I was also looking out for the annotation thing you guys were referring to but it didn't come up.

When we got to the calendar page, we saw April, 2025.

My Opinion: Pay online

For IW, yes.

If you mean visa fee, i think it is non refundable.

OIS refunded my N57, 400. I'm impressed.

Three months' vacation and in less than six months you're going for another vacation.
Vacation is not a Nigerian thing and a frequent one for that matter.
While you will be successful in entering the US, think of your renewal.

I have seen many people say i had a visa i entered the US severally, i did not overstay and i was denied or called for follow up interview. These are the issues.

I had a call this morning from OIS to send my bank details to get a refund of the N57, 400 i paid.
This is for the information of anyone who also paid N57,400 to book appointment.

Its better you answer Yes to the question.
They will see it in their record anyway and deny them if they lie about it.

Am filling out DS 160 for my parent. Some years ago, I filed I-130 but the application was unsuccessful. On the DS 160 form, there is question "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?" Should we answer Yes? Hoping this won't give parent reason for denial although parent has visited me in US years ago before filing a I-130.

When you log in after 24-48hrs of payment, it will enable you proceed. That is what i mean by payment reflected. Please give it time
It took almost 48hrs for me. I was checking inteminently though. Then when i logged in i saw the big blue 'Proceed' tab was highlighted.

It is Lagos. It was IW. I answered the questions and it took me to the calendar and it was February 2025.

It was Lagos. Appointment started from 12th February, 2025.

It didn't allow me to proceed without payment. Is there a way i could have done it without payment?
I also started the answers with the regular IW question. The only question i saw differently was whether i had all my past visa and passports. I answered yes. It returned with a response of you are qualified for IW.

I can not remember seeing a question that asked for empty or waiver.

The earliest date started from 12th February, 2025 all the way to the end of the month

I am posting this for those who it may help.

7th January 2025 - I paid US visa fee at FBN. Posted the Aventum Number and date of payment same day.
9th January 2025 - Payment reflected on AVITS website and I was able to proceed with booking appointment. Answered all the relevant questions. Eligible for IW. Booked IW appointment for end of February 2025. The earliest date available was 12th February 2025.
I proceeded to OIS Website to book Drop off for same end of February 2025. I paid N57, 400.
The process was seamless.

My question: What is the OIS Drop off payment for? Can the passport be dropped off and picked up by proxy?
