Congratulations. If you don't mind, can you pls shed more light on the liquidation process? How did you find a buyer? what escrow did you use for the transaction? How did you determine the wholesale value of your domains? etc.

Thanks bro. At first I divided my portfolio of about 30 names into 2 parts. I was putting the names on the wholesale market in batches and reducing the price by $5 every 3days from $30 until it gets to $10. After that, I remove them and put another batch.

After completing the process, I would remove all names from wholesale market for about 3 months before repeating the process.

The best names would usually sell before you get to $10, sometimes at $25.

It was while I was doing this, that someone messaged me on one of those names and asked if I had other similar names, that he was ready to buy in bulk. We agreed on a Wholesale price for the remaining 23 names, and he bought all.

The process was manual. We agreed on a time to do it and we were both online communicating via Squadhelp inbox. I put all names on wholesale market at $50 each(Max WS price for SH owned, since that's what they were). I would then reduce the price to the agreed price one name at a time from $50 to the agreed price, while he buys instantly from his end. So, escrow was still Squadhelp.

My little domain earnings came from Brand_new_name and Squadhelp wholesales as I eventually liquidated my Squadhelp portfolio when a bulk buyer came along.

I was able to make $1050 on Brand_new_name

I came across the platform here on Nairaland while trying to learn domaining without starting capital.

Two of those I shared the info with by word of mouth also won on Brand_new_name

Is there any strategy you use in coming up with names in those contests?

Nothing special o. I just read the contest briefs carefully, and continuously expand my knowledge by studying past contest briefs and the entries that won them.

I had names on Squadhelp and was participating in Squadhelp naming contests too before I heard about Brand-new-name. I think the Squadhelp experience also helped.

Though this might not be totally related to this thread but it seems there are people here with the know-how of receiving funds internationally.

I have a Visa prepaid card and I would like to transfer some of its balance into my bank account but I don't know how to go about it. I need the money in naira for a local purchase please I need your help.

Although I don't use Payoneer/geegpay/wise/grey yet, I was thinking if they can be funded with the card then converted to naira and transferred into my local account?

If it's UBA card, you can't fund Payoneer/Geegpay with it. I don't know about Wise. You can sell the funds to me and have your Naira. I need the $ for international transactions.

The last time I withdrew from PayPal to my UBA dollar card,UBA automatically converted the fund to Naira with their exchange rate.

Apparently, you are using the naira version of the prepaid card.

Go get the dollar prepaid card and you'll get credited in dollars.
