Hello house .Im hearing they are revoking 5 year non immigrant visa so basically b1/b2 .How true is this ? Not sure if they are revoking these 5 yr validity visas at the point of entry or if ppl are getting emails that their visas are being revoked .Omoor trump is crazy sha .

Ma’am /Sir your points don’t apply pls.If you check earlier in the thread around September last year you’ll see that avits was having issues and giving ppl who were eligible for IW interviews, the website also didn’t allow family appointments as at last year so pls ask questions before making assumptions.Ogs on this thread will tell you the issues they accounted on the website .

I won't reply after this in order to avoid situations but let me clear out some points.

1. Wealthy people thrice than your dad have been denied in the past on their first time or on renewal.

2. Your dad as a wealthy individual can be suspected of money laundering.

3. Ironically, US embassy suspects professionals (ie engineers, doctors, surgeons, etc) & wealthy individuals who travels too frequently to different countries within the space of short periods than the low or average individuals. The aforementioned are some of the characteristics of drug pushers , terrorists , human traffickers, Money launderers etc.

4. Avits amentum did not mess up your dad. Your agent or the person who handles the application does not have full knowledge about how to navigate family appointment. Besides, the Embassy overturned your dad's IW qualification into physical interview because he was suspected of something and needed to be seen for interrogation.

5..Your dad may have failed to express or explain himself clearly to the consular about his activities in the U.S. (he can be a PhD holder and still failed in this aspect). Most time , our senior citizens especially the wealthy ones can be unfriendly towards the consulars thinking the renewal of his visa is automatic. I have seen an elderly woman shouted on a visa officer in the past.

**. My points here are not to disrespect your dad pls. I am only narrating to you the very possible mindset of the interviewing officers. 👍

I think your Dad met a mean visa officer who was just bent on denying him. I suggest he reapplies as soon as possible. He will definitely get the visa. They are really flexing these days and denying a lot of senior citizens.

My Uncle with a 5 year Canadian visa was denied today. Same home ties story. A 65 year old man with 2 children in Canada and a very comfortable life in Nigeria. It is sad and really annoying.....

USA Visa Officers does not hate you. They are not wicked or mindless, and they dont like to break our hearts as most of us used to think. But they owes allegiance to the United States as highly educated diplomats who won their jobs through an intensely competitive and difficult process. They can be fined (for treasonable felony) up to $10,000 or minimum of 5 yrs imprisonment if they commit or bypass open visa issuing blunders (especially to terrorists, wanted criminals, drug cartel members etc). Go and research 911 event, you will understand why the U.S visa is becoming the most complex and difficult to secure.

NOTE: With due respect, your dad's previous visa was abused in the sense of over-staying, illegal working etc (either knowingly or unknowingly) and mind you he was not entitled to drop box but he was qualified for IW and the USA embassy has the veto power to invite him for physcal appearance. Tell us the real jist. We have experts on NL who will suggest possible way out for our senior citizen. 👍

This is someone who owns 2 holiday homes in the uk btw,paid for in full with no mortgage .So idk what they mean by he doesn’t have home ties to Nigeria?He might be retired but he’s got money,property and investments .He took his bank statements and other docs as usual but they never ask to see all that.His wife got a different interview date than him cos of the messed up website .So again I ask what home ties did he just start lacking this year ?Lool they are clearly deranged .

He’s never spent more than 3 weeks in the us,last year he was there for just under 2 weeks so idk what type of abuse you’re on about .They are sick in the head and that’s it .

These visa officers are sick sick !!! They denied my dad for the first time ever .They didn’t even ask him any questions ,just down right denial LOL!

Someone that was even entitled to Dropbox and the new website messed him up .At this point I don’t care if I even get it ,good riddance !

Be patient .For 221g refusals the embassy will email you themselves with a date to come for your interview.Just keep checking your email .

You dont have to pay another money. Navigate back to your profile (appointment section), you will see reschedule and cancel, click on the reschedule and it will give you the available dates. I did the same thing, I havent booked the date yet because i want a closer date.

He’s talking about for ppl who are eligible for IW but were given interviews instead .Rescheduling will not change it to drop box/IW. The only way seems to be to cancel your appointment and pay again to get the option for IW

Same thing happened to my mum - her new AVITS letter was for a regular interview even though she had a IW letter from the previous portal.

I called the AVITS helpdesk twice and spoke with their support via the chat function and all three times, they told me she was supposed to go for an interview!


My NL people advised to just book with OIS and submit for the same day as was listed on the AVITS letter....but I was very nervous so even though I went ahead to book a drop off appointment with OIS for the same day as the AVITS letter, I still asked her to go to the embassy on Walter Carrington first (based on the AVITS feedback)....GUESS WHAT? She was redirected to OIS by the embassy!

If you're in Lagos, both places are in VI so you could book and go to OIS first (book a drop off for the same date as on your current AVITS letter), see what they say and worst case if they do not allow you to drop off you go back to the embassy........or do the embassy first before OIS like my mum did.

The chaos from this migration is unbelievable!

The issue is I’m traveling out of the country on Thursday 5th Dec & cannot move the trip as it’s from work. I also don’t want to reschedule my interview date as the available dates I’m seeing are too far away. I plan to just go ahead and attend the interview. Should the interview turn out to be successful, can I request to keep my passport until I come back from my trip then submit it for the visa? Or is it possible for my visa to be issued in 1 day and I get my passport back with the visa on Wednesday 4th, before my trip on Thursday? Is that something that they do? Thank you. I’m a first time applicant so don’t know how their own system works.

You can request that you send your passport when you’re back from your trip .Just in case take evidence of the the trip you’re going for .

You were meant to wait for an email from them to onboard you on the new website since you already had an appointment on the old website .Send a ticket to them explaining.It will be sorted out eventually.

I am also having this same "Receipt Not Found" issue. Please let me know if you solve it. Support and the NIV emails are not helping. They put my support ticket on hold for over a month now.

This us visa stuff issa whole racket ! You’ll unfortunately just have to pay the visa fee again .Thats what they want .

There are actually dates on the consulate calendar as at yesterday (Friday) because I went through the process and after responding to all the questions, it took me directly to the Interview waiver section and I picked Tuesday the 26th which is less than a week.

Ps: I didnt click on the waiver option because in my head it is a settled thought that I was going in for a regualr appointment, I clicked on the blanket option for the annotation and answered all the questions normally and it still took me to the IW section .........This thing is just unpredictable sometimes......

Are you saying you’re not eligible for IW? And avits website gave you the letter ?

Your passport number is on your ds160 form already so not really .There is no other way around the duplicate applicant issue for now .Avits ppl don’t know what they are doing .

Change a number on your passport .That solves the issue

You forfeit your visa fee if you cancel your appointment .You’ll have to pay again .

Apparently the issue is with choosing ‘empty’ when asked what annotation is on your previous visa .If you want to qualify for IW on the avits site when asked for the annotation,select ‘waiver’ .I heard this has worked for ppl.
You’ll need to pay again to be able to redo this step so a new appointment can be booked tho .

They are not lumping the dates together. From what I have noticed the question of *annotation* seems to be the problem. If you don’t select waiver, you will be directed to physical interview. OIS will not accept your document if you don’t have the IW confirmation letter.

I have made payment for US Visa fee at First Bank Plc since on the 8th November, 24 but the payment is still pending not updated.
I raise a ticket but still no response. Any idea what I should do next.

Click on bank details and generate receipt .Enter your amentum number and the date you made the payment at the bank .I don’t think payments made at the bank update automatically.You have to manually enter your payment details for it to confirm receipt .Try that and wait for 24hrs .

Schedule your appointment.Avits seems to be lumping In interviews with IW,at the moment there is no difference.Go ahead to schedule another appointment to drop off your passport on the ois website ,just make sure it’s the same as the date on the avits site .As long as you have the visa that expired not more than 48 months ago to show them and for submission,it should be fine .

You need to select bank payment Then you click on generate slip .Follow the directions on that slip to make your payment either online or at a first bank branch

Both those on regular interview and those eligible for IW do apply on the same portal and follow the same scheduling pattern on the portal. However, qualification for an IW is based on the information provided in the course of scheduling the appointment. Last week, I did appointment for two elderly couple who qualified for drop box but they didn't get the IW. I think this new platform is kinda challenging to navigate especially for the first users. But with time, I believe everyone would get used to it, just like the previous one.

So you may need to raise a ticket and explain to them. I spoke with one of the call centre agents and she said the decision is at the discretion of the counsular officer and qualification for IW depends on alot of factors on the portal; even while the applicant is eligible for it

Those avits call center ppl don’t know shit! I would advise they book another appointment on ois and go drop off their passports.As long as your visa expired within the last 48 months you qualify for IW,the only situation where you will need to go to the consulate is if you’re given a 21g letter after you do your drop box .Book an appointment on ois that matches Avits date and go and drop off .

They are now lumping IW with Norma interviews now ,book your appointment for drop off on the ois website .Just make sure it matches T he date you picked on the avitis website. If you go back a couple of pages on this thread,you should see the link to the ois website or just google it .

They can’t be different.Pick dates that’s match .Before you could just use your ois appointment date ,but now ois seems to want ppl to come on the dates they picked on avits.

It looks like consulate and drop box appointments are now being lumped together.Just pick a date then go register on ois to drop off your documents on the same date your choose on Avitis.

Response from the chat is that I should continue to send tickets to support until it is resolved.

Hmm I’m suspecting the issue might be with your passport number that you changed then .When you were paying to first bank did you input your correct passport number ?cos if the passport number on your profile doesn’t match what you imputed paying first bank it might be an issue .Just a thought .

Tried changing a number on my passport number, I was able to move to the payment page, where I entered my Ammentum number. Got the message 'Bank payment details successfully updated'. But I could not move passed this stage since last 2 weeks.

Try clicking on deposit bank details and enter your anemtum number as your bank ref number ,then the date you paid .It should say bank details updated successfully when you do that and in a few hours you should have access to the appointment calendar.If that still doesn’t work chat or call customer support and send them your evidence of payment (ois first bank reciept ).


Also did you register with a previous email on avits then create this current one ?if that’s the case you will need to tell them to delete your previous account that is attached to another email address .You just need to keep calling and chatting with them persistently ! Trump don win elections so only God knows how easy or hard it will be for them to approve visas now .Best to get it done asap ! Before he starts giving executive orders.
