Phonics is a method of teaching reading based on the sounds of letters, groups of letters and syllables. Research shows that phonics is the best methods of teaching children how to read.

The program is interactive activities that introduce and reinforce basic literacy skills of spelling, reading and speaking. It is a package of educational activities that is designed to help learners on how to read using synthetic phonic method and speak using internationally acceptable
intonation.

Our program uses the phonics method of teaching – tried and tested, and known to produce excellent results.

Why The Program:
Phonic is the method of learning to read by sounds. By putting sounds and symbols together, the average learner could learn to read quickly. The need for children to improve in their reading skill, use of standard pronunciation and use of diction in their communication skill are enormous. But the following factors affect its actualization among non native speakers;
• Mother-tongue interference in the use of English.
• The use of only English Alphabet, which are not phonetic
in nature.
• Problem in identifying and interpreting the Phonetic
symbols.
• Blending of local language with English
• Improper use of right English expression e.t.c.

Children are taught the 44main sounds. This includes alphabet sounds as well as
digraph.
• LEARNING LETTER FORMATION
Using different multi-sensory methods, children learn how to form and write letters.
• BLENDING
Children are taught how to blend the sounds together to read and write new words.
• IDENTIFYING THE SOUNDS IN WORDS (SEGMENTING)
Listening to the sounds in words gives children the best start for improving spellings.
• TRICKY WORDS
Tricky words have irregular spellings and children learn these separately.
