Hello..I'd like to confirm if there is anything such as storage charges at any U.S port. Does the loading port charge storage charges if your car is not shipped within 30 days. Due to faults that is NOT yours. For example the vessel was full and there was no space so your car had to wait till the next vessel comes. Anything like storage charges that the port charges you? Agent is claiming car stayed for 46 days at the port. So 10 USD per day needs to be paid for storage charges after the 30th free day. I'd appreciate if someone could help me verify. I used Sallaum lines and the loading port was Jacksonville, Florida.

He displays genuine parts but doesn't sell them, as far as i can remember he sent me shocks claiming they were TOKICO at the end of the day i ended up getting " CHINESE" (JAPAN QUALITY) SHOCKS that was clearly engraved into the shocks. If it was a genuine TOKICO you would see a clearly engraved, made in JAPAN OR THAILAND. But non was there. Although it had a tokico sticker and all that, anyone could stick that! But it was still not a genuine one. I even took it SON as it had a SON sticker, and they told me the number on the sticker does not match what they have on record. So i reported him to SON and i am still waiting for their feedback.

So just be careful what you buy online. I'd always advise buyers to physically inspect any goods before purchasing. Best wishes nairalanders.

Well to be honest. The lexus es330 is just a more enhanced version of the camry. Its quieter, its smoother and it definitely looks better than the camry.

Mobil 1 5w30. I saw another mobil 1 5w30 but for high mileage vehicles. I really don't know whether that will make a difference.

As you can see, it is Api Sm and not SM-CF. It is gasoline or petrol engine. But the market that uses this particular oil is from Asia and Middle East. Your Lexus is an American market spec and on your oil cap, the es330 requires 5w30 api SL. I can give you the number of the sellers.

Yes. I'd appreciate their numbers. Anywhere where i can get genuine grade oils will be great! Reccomend purchasing from jumia? I saw 5 quarts of 5w30, going for 17,700. Good buy?

Stop being ignorant, Lexus actually never recommended 5W40 for their ES sedans. What was recommended was 5W30 fully synthetic oil.

That oil you're pouring isn't from Lexus USA or Lexus Japan. Its some random stuff you're pouring into your engine. Good luck!

Nothing to do with being ignorant! I lived in the middle east and i owned an ls430, 5w40 was always used by the lexus dealership when it came to an oil change. Unless you want to tell me that all the lexus branches in the middle east don't know what they are doing?!

Infact if you look at a Toyota camry imported form the middle east, then you look a another Camry imported from the u.s with the same engine, you will always find that the owners manual reccomends different grades of oil. (very common). We have a 1GRFE Toyota prado that actually has 20w50 recommended in the owners manual. You will find other Toyotas with the same 1GRFE but u.s specs that will only recommend 5w30! Its all to do with the climate!

Vehicles that come from u.s and canada are usually limited to 5w30 (most of the time). If you go to middleast 20w50 is actually common! In some countries in the middle east temperatures exceed 50 degrees Celsius. Non the less where i stay in currently in nigeria temperatures can exceed 46 degrees Celsius in the summer.

Thats why most synthetics in the middle east are 5w40. Lexus middle east uses this oil at their dealerships. When i asked a lexus sales rep what kind of viscosity i should use on my es330 they quickly helped me check the climatic conditions and advised on 5w30 but 5w40 if available.

When i called lexus u.s and asked what grade of oil i should use. They said 5w30. And then i told the sales rep that the car is not in the u.s, and in the actual location where i am at, temperatures can easily soar to 45-46. Guess what she told me? She said that i shouldn't have exported the car out of the u.s. The car was built to be used in the u.s only. Even the Canadian es330 variants are different from the u.s.

Almost 95% of the cars on Nigerian roads are not even meant to be driven in Nigeria, and this is mainly based on the climatic conditions, poor roads etc. My advice to everyone is that you should stick to OEM specifications all the time! But look at the climatic conditions first.

If you say you will stick to 5w30 in temperatures of 50 degrees plus. Your engine will start knocking on your door pretty soon!

And one more thing, PETROL and GASOLINE are actually the SAME thing. Its just that Americans call it gasoline and the British call it petrol.

This is what was recommended to me by Lexus. I don't stay in Lagos and i am trying to avoid all these road side parts dealers by all means. So if something like total or mobil or even havoline can be used then yeah. Because it is easily accessible..

I plan on using it on my Lexus es330 on my next oil change. I have been using Lexus motor oil 5w40 full synthetic recommended by Lexus ME. But its not readily available where i stay, so i am just looking for any other 5w40 grade oil that i can use on my Es330. Apart from the total 5w40 does anyone recommend anything else?

It seems like this is a common cosmetic problem on most es300's and es330's probably due to the heat/sun and wear and tear. Does anyone have a solution to cover up the space that builds up over time between between the dashboard cover and the dashboard?

Thanks for the response! Yes, they maybe qualitative. But why should the seller claim they are original OEM TOYOTA/TOKICO shocks from JAPAN. Thats the problem. Does anyone know the price of qualitative chinese rear shock absorbers for the camry or lexus es330? Because i bought these for 45,000 which to me is a bit pricey for a knock offs!

I recently ordered a pair of rear shocks for my Lexus es330 from Autosmart at the rate of 45,000 Naira. They are based in tradefair and they have an account on Instagram. He claimed they were original tokico shocks. Upon arrival i saw the shocks, they looked like they were recently sprayed, and they had japan quality on them. "JAPAN QUALITY" can never be genuine! Even though they were Toyota and Tokico stickers all over but the only engraving was japan quality makes it looks so fake!
My question is has anybody bought any parts from him? And is it possible to have Genuine shocks with Japan quality engraved on the shock?
