Technology Market › Hmm. What Is This Realme by Zeke0(op): 10:23pm On Oct 31, 2025 |
The other day, my friend and I made the bad decision to go and buy bread and egg in the rain. I accidentally hit his hand on our way back and our bread, egg, and his phone fell into a pool of muddy water. Omo, I forgot about the bread and egg and panicked about the phone! "chai where I wan see money do person phone"kept playing in my head. Lo and behold, we picked up the phone and checked it. It was still working! So this my guy was not delusional over his new realme phone. Mad o! the new realme phones are very nice their quality and durability can truly save someone from entering gbese. |

aquarius15febb: Let’s talk money matter. Most Nigerians no dey buy ₦500k iPhones. The hot spot na ₦150k–₦200k range. But not all brands dey worth am. N TECNO/Infinix: very popular, after-sales service dey.
Redmi/Xiaomi: mad specs, but repair/service sometimes wahala.
realme: upcoming for Naija, but specs dey solid and price dey friendly.
So if you hold ₦200k today:
Which brand you go buy?
Which one you don test personally wey you fit vouch for?
Make we compare notes. E go help plenty people wey dey plan upgrade. I go buy my pink C75x sharp |

Oyinkan99: What Nigerians looks into the budget, battery life and storage before now attempting to check camera camera is still there but its not a priority anymore. We have to make sure we get good value for every dime spent. Phones need to be able to stand the test of time. realme came in at the perfect time. Because of them the average man can still afford good devices |
Phones › Re: Phones In Nigeria: What Really Matters by Zeke0: 5:01pm On Oct 05, 2025 |
TeeTaiwo08: In Nigeria, what really matters in a phone is simple, strong battery (5000mAh+ with fast charging), enough storage & RAM for smooth use, and durability you can trust with service centres around. Make sure it supports our 4G/5G bands, test the camera & screen in real life (not just specs), and always check the IMEI to avoid stolen phones. Mid-range devices usually give the best value, and if it’s a used phone, test everything and reset it before paying. At the end, a good phone here must handle NEPA wahala, heavy use, and still be easy to fix👌. mid range devices always give the best value fr. Just know who to select the phones to suit your needs and have maintenance culture. Every other is already in place to make life easier. |

Phones › Re: Why Do Nigerians Hardly Try New Smartphone Brands? by Zeke0: 10:32am On Oct 05, 2025 |
aquarius15febb: If we’re being real, Nigerians dey love familiar brands. When it comes to phones, na TECNO, Infinix, iPhone and Samsung wey dey reign.
But worldwide, other brands dey trend big time.... like realme, Oppo, Vivo. For example, realme dey ship millions of units every year in Asia and Europe. Same specs wey Redmi dey offer, realme dey give too, sometimes even cheaper.
So the question be:
Why we dey always stick to only the popular brands?
Na lack of awareness?
Na fear of “unknown” brands?
Or na just say we no wan take risk?
Who here don try one of these “newer” brands before? Share your experience make we reason am. fear of tye unknown was my problem. I'd rather trust my money with something more popular until they lost the plot. They became more expensive and they just packed it with unnecessary features. My cousin was the one that mentioned this new brand realme to me and tbh I doubted. But the price of the C61 caught my attention. "Phones can be this cheap in 2025?" And we have been enjoying the phone so far. So much wahala. Good battery life and I can even play games on it without lagging. Life no suppose hard fr |
