Politics / Nigerian Leaders Are Playing 'ostrich Game' With The Country by zeke100(m): 10:40pm On Sep 19, 2016
http://pulse.ng/bloggers/pulse-blogger-nigerian-leaders-are-playing-ostrich-game-with-the-country-id5507209.html

It saddens the heart to wake up to news credited to one of the present leaders saying that Nigeria is alright, are we?
The statement can be likened to playing the Ostrich game with the citizen. As noted by animal researchers, when there is a problem in the forest, an ostrich will search for a hip of sand that it can deep it's head into (leaving the remaining part of the body at risk) for safety.

With the present situation in Nigeria (which is getting worse by the day), it is obvious this is what our leaders are doing. Clearly, Nigeria is in an economic condition that is not fantastically okay and we are not proud of that but deceiving Nigerians make matters worse, this is because it will hinder the preparation for the coming days.

Blaming the past administration might be a nice idea in making the citizens realise that the situation left behind and met by the present administration is unsmiling but what the present administration is doing to get the nation out of this recession period which might slide towards depression as time goes on matters more.

From my point of view, this government fills round holes with square pegs. Taking a closer look at the economy of the nation, feeding cost sky is rocketing, provision of basic needs like a shelter for families among others are becoming unbearable for Nigerians daily.

Another major factor hiding in plain sight is the country’s “economic team”. An Economic team led by a lawyer, comprising of semi-qualified individuals in the time of recession is also to be blamed for our present state.

What happened to the youths the country gave an opportunity for a free or subsidised education and now have become experts in this aspect? China and other world ruling countries today were changed majorly by focusing on “human development” but the game of politics has neglected those we developed. This article is not written to discredit the economic team but to encourage them to sit up and give the opportunity to experts in the sector to contribute.

Inflation is not new in Nigeria but the double digit (17.5% as measured by experts) is new. Expert in the field associates the problem to the implementation of the treasury single account, saying “the disadvantage of the policy is greater than its advantage”. It is important to fight corruption to stand still but the issue of money creation implemented by commercial banks to create employment by supporting the entrepreneurs should not be left out.

As of today borrowing in banks will require an interest rate of about 25% which can only be paid by illegal business dealers like drug traffickers, and probably large, well-established business enterprise.

This write-up focuses on one of the numerous sectors in the countries that need overhauling which is the economy. The ostrich game must stop because corruption which the government is fighting is definitely fighting back in various dimensions. Immediate actions should be taken today to place the country on a better track; most of the neighbouring countries are looking up to this great nation. As the giant of Africa, we need to be a role model most especially in economic matters

When last do you open an upwork account? To open an upwork account for writing is now hard since they change their policies.

I guess they are rationing freelancers on their platform.

Politics / Restructuring Nigeria: A Step Toward Cessation? by zeke100(m): 6:11am On Sep 07, 2016
The word 'restructure' is being used by some of the nation leaders in the recent days which caused a great disturbance to some.
This makes it a great reason to check in depth the form in which the restructuring will look like and the effect it will have on the political and economic factors among others in the country.

Tracing it back to history during the British colonial era where Nigeria is basically divided into two which is the Northern and the Southern part of Nigeria, powers given to the federal government is minimal and the local citizens feel the impact of the government of each region more because effectiveness is being felt compared to when the regions are being divided into three or to the present thirty-six states which were pioneered by the military government led by the famous General Yakubu Gowon.
It is also noted that economically before dividing the nation into states in which we have today, the economy of each region is used to develop the region and some of the portions are sent to the federal government which is about 40% of the income. Checking all these benefits, it is nice to the ear maybe that is why some still support the idea thinking it will reduce the security issues facing the country in the recent days.

Some political analyst believe if the restructuring is put in place effectively with good policies, it might be the solution to the weakened unity the country is being faced with, reducing the Biafra call for disintegration in the recent days because each region won't have any other reason to hold the federal government to ransom for any issue being faced because a nice proportion of power would be given to the government of each region politically and financially.
The group also state that the Ijaw group won't feel cheated and the militants’ uproar will be solved. Can this be the school of thought that the former vice president Atiku Abubakar belongs to? Can’t decide on the mode he wishes is heard.

Some political analysts also believe it will be a good idea but the negative part of it was also being looked into (since both sides are to be checked for efficient planning). It was noted that the negative factors are more than the positive benefits; they believe it is just a step closer to cessation.

It was noted that giving power to each region will give rise to more call for cessation which might definitely lead to disintegration. This might be the reason the ruling party rejected the idea of the former vice president (who is also a great leader in the party).

What do you think about restructuring Nigeria?

Which school of thought do you think is right?
