Crime / One Of Offa Robbers Finally Arrested, He Was A Dismissed SARS Police Officer by ZeroLatest: 1:52pm On May 10, 2018

Exactly four days after the Nigeria Police Force declared four kingpins that led the bloody Offa bank robbery wanted, operatives have arrested three of them.
The four suspects were declared wanted after the bank robberies of April 5. The faces of these kingpins were captured via CCTV in some of the banks they attacked.
The suspects robbed several banks, carted away millions and killed over 30 people, including nine policemen.

One of the kingpins, identified as Michael Adikwu, a police constable, who was tried and dismissed by police authorities, has been arrested.
Adikwu was arrested on Monday by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police, Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and later used as bait to catch two other kingpins.

Speaking on Adikwu, a police source disclosed: “He used to serve in the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Kwara State Police Command until he got involved in robbery.
Investigations revealed that some armed robbers, who robbed and killed an innocent citizen were arrested. Adikwu, then a constable, collected money from them and released them. He was subsequently arrested, tried and dismissed.

He was charged to court together with the re-arrested armed robbers. He served three years in prison. How he came out of prison is still a mystery.”
The source further disclosed that Adikwu after leaving prison, went into crime full time. He met other armed robbers, became friends with them and formed a gang. The suspect was also said to have made some criminal friends in the prison.
When those came out, they also joined in the new gang. Another police source stated: “After we released the Offa bank robbers’ pictures, we started getting many leads. We arrested Adikwu in Kwara State on Monday. His confessions also led to the arrest of two more suspects.”

Music/Radio / MC Akonuche: "Headies Is A Yoruba Award No Award To One Igbo Person” by ZeroLatest: 12:12am On May 08, 2018
A Nigerian man naed mc_akonuche Just took to his instagram account to say this, what are your Thoughts??

For d past 6 years iv been on radio iv come to realise DAT there is particularly a special type of segregation bw d Eastern Nigerian musicians n d westerners.. But with critical analysis, I noticed DAT d Easterners contributed so much to dia own problem.. Its very hard for Igbo artistes who has made it to support rising fellow artist .maybe bc d rising artists however don’t also support them.. Look at d sponsor’s of @the_headies ,not even one big man or company from d east, all sponsors r from Yoruba..why won’t d Igbo’s nt be segregated n nt given awards?? We make so much money n all in our mind is only business n nobody is thinking about improving entertainment in east just very few like SIR EMEKA OFFOR had in d past contributed to entertainment.

Look at d #12thheadies last nit..from d red carpet, no Igbo anchor, no Igbo presented an award, except Ebuka who of course is a Yoruba personality, no Igbo artist performed n no Igbo artist won an award in all categories. Even SONG OF D YEAR DAT was supposed to go to MAD OVER U BY @runtown was given to a Yoruba Artist.. I work on d radio n I call tell u DAT MAD OVER U received high air play from December 2016 wen it dropped till mid 2017 wen IF by DAVIDO came out..
But wot do I know? I’m just an ordinary OAP

With dis analysis, I’m finding it difficult to accept DAT #Headies is a Nigerian award..I feel its more of a YORUBA AWARD even though d Igbo’s contributed as d architect of their own problem n therefore I’m calling out d whole Igbo Artist to come out n support their up rising artists just like @davidoofficial is doing n let our rich Igbo men try n support entertainment… If u attack me on MY wall,be rest assured DAT u will be BLOCKED.. I JUST SAID MY MIND.. HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

#1 Mohamed Salah

The reigning African Player of the Year, Mohamed Salah is presently playing the best football of his life.

The Liverpool playmaker has been one of the best players in the world in the past 12 months, scoring a staggered 41 goals in just 39 appearances for the Reds. Fittingly, it was his stoppage time spot kick, which ended Egypt’s 28 year old wait to once again book a place among the footballing elite.

Salah has been sensational for his country as well, scoring 33 times in 57 appearances for The Pharaohs. He has also been instrumental in Egypt’s strong performance in the recent past which also saw them reach the finals of the African Cup of Nations in 2017.

Given that Egypt seems to be in a comparatively easier group, an in-form Salah might very well see them reach the second round of the tournament for the first time in their history.

There you have it!.

#2 Alex Iwobi

The Arsenal starlet, though just 20, has already drawn comparisons to one of the all time Nigerian greats, J.J. Okocha, who incidentally happens to be his uncle.

Iwobi, who made his debut for the Super Eagles when he was 17, has quickly become one of the automatic choices in Gernot Rohr’s first eleven. The winger has not disappointed his manager either, scoring twice and setting up one goal for his country in his last four appearances for Nigeria.

Iwobi announced his arrival on the International stage in style last November, when he scored two goals in a 4-2 victory against Argentina. With his pace and dribbling skills, the winger has more than enough tools at his disposal to give opposition defenders sleepless nights this summer.

#3 Sadio Mane

The winger would be eager to make amends in Russia for his penalty miss at the African Nations Cup last year that saw his side crash out of the tournament.

Much like El Hadji Diouf in 2002, Mane is expected to be the star player in Senegal’s attack in Russia. The only difference being, while Diouf’s World Cup heroics prompted Liverpool to sign him, Mane is already a first team regular at the Kop.

The 25 year old has established himself as one of the most exciting wide men, not only in the Premier League but also in the world. Though he has been injury plagued this season, Mane has still been on fire for the Reds whenever he has taken the field, scoring 14 and setting up 8 goals for others in just 29 appearances.

If he brings his best game to the World Cup, there is a possibility that Senegal might actually go way further than people’s expectations from the African nation.

#4 Kalidou Koulibaly

The towering central defender has had a fantastic season with Napoli and has been instrumental in the club’s charge to win their first Serie A crown in almost three decades.

He was one of the front runners in the race for becoming African Player of the Year, only to lose out to the amazing Mohamed Salah. A commanding but calm presence at the back, Koulibaly is also a threat at the other end from set pieces having scored 4 times for the club this season already.

The center back has been one of the main stays for the ‘Teranga Lions’ in the past two years, representing Senegal in the African Cup of Nations last year and playing all but one game in their World Cup Qualifying campaign.

Koulibaly is already being chased by many of the European giants and the chase will only intensify further after this summer.

#5 Kelechi Iheanacho

The 21 year old striker has already represented the Super Eagles 14 times at the senior level and is widely touted as one of the brightest African prospects.

He has partnered Odion Ighalo and Victor Moses to form one of the most feared offensive trios in the continent which played an integral part in Nigeria’s dominant performance in the qualifying round, where they only lost once during the entire campaign.

Though the youngster hasn’t had a fantastic season at the club level so far, his international form has been stellar of late with the striker scoring 9 times in his last 13 international appearances for Nigeria.

Keeping that in mind, it is not difficult to imagine Iheanacho putting forth a performance worth remembering when they take the field later this year.

Nairaland / General / Nigerian Traders Using Hummer Jeep To Sell Tea & Other Provisions (photos) by ZeroLatest: 7:30pm On May 04, 2018
A Nigerian man has revealed he has learnt not to bother himself over anything in life after he was surprised with an unusual sight in Benin city, Edo state.

The chairman at Association Of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Edo State Chapter, Goodluck Osama Ogbeide, took to Facebook to share pictures of a Hummer Jeep which he saw being used to sell tea and other provisions.

Below is what he shared on Facebook;

I was actually in a vehicle around Ugbowo axis today, when I stopped to snap this Hummer jeep. This is one of the reasons why I don’t bother myself over anything in life. Ur most valuable property today, is definitely another man’s rag.

When Blackberry Phone came out, some persons, most especially some girls almost killed themselves over nothing. What is the worth of blackberry today?

Just imagine an Hummer Jeep being used as mobile shop for selling ordinary Tea and other provisions.

Just imagine the almighty Hummer Jeepworth millions of naira.. being used as mobile shop for selling ordinary Tea and other provisions.

Everything will fade away some day. Only the act of kindness u show to ur neighbour today will last forever and even open doors for u and ur unborn children. *Legacy*

Stop killing yourself for things that will fade away and spend more time leaving a legacy behind.

A word is enough for the wise.
