*FIRE OUTBREAK AVERTED IN WARD D, AJAGURO*

*Swift Response by Lagos State Fire Service and Law Enforcement Agencies Saves the Day*

Today, 5th of September 2025, a disastrous fire outbreak was narrowly averted at the A1 Plus fueling station in Ward D, Ajaguro, Ikorodu West LCDA. A petrol tanker caught fire while depositing fuel into the reservoir, prompting hundreds of residents to spring into action and attempt to contain the blaze.

The Lagos State Fire Service and law enforcement agencies responded promptly, preventing the situation from escalating further.

The Councillor of Ward D, Ajaguro Community, Hon. (Lion) Dare Adeleke Okuyelu, joined the response efforts, commended the patriotic residents, firefighters, police, and Lagos State Neighborhood Corps for their heroic efforts and commitment to avert the unfortunate situation.

"This incident highlights the importance of community vigilance and the vital role of emergency services in safeguarding lives and property. I appreciate the bravery and quick thinking of our residents and emergency responders," said Hon. Okuyelu.

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olarenwaju also, commiserate with the good people of Ward D Ajaguro, and the stakeholders of A1 Plus fueling station for the unfortunate incident.

He further urges all residents to remain vigilant and report any emergencies promptly. Also, advising the people to pay their taxes, as government emergency units are strengthened by taxes of the people.
