Wow, German bureaucracy is something else As far as I know, no one who had their appointment from September up to now has received a response, but fingers crossed, let's see what happens between now and December 23rd (This is when the Lagos consulate said they close for the year) Diceman8: No bro. At this point i dont think anything is going to happen till next year because of christmas holiday. Again some of us might get cleared as they might rush some stuff before christmas.
The german government is very slow with everything related to immigration, when i was living there it was the same. Especially during peak busy months from september to december. Everything should be faster after january though |

You need a reference who is a legal resident or a citizen of Germany, there's really no way around it (at least so far). If the feedback appeared in the Documents section, they should also give the same feedback in the Reference Form section. That way, you can update your original reference to someone in Germany and also upload their document. But if that's not your situation and they only requested an upload in the Documents section, the safest thing to do is create one file that includes all the reference details normally asked for in the reference form. Fill it with the new German reference’s information, attach their document, and upload everything together as a single file. In that same file, explain that you cannot access the reference form section to update the reference you submitted earlier. PS: This is just how I'd approach it if I were you, so ultimately do your own research and decide what's best to do. If you keep waiting for an email response from them, the time they gave you for the preliminary feedback correction might elapse, and they'll delete your application. Talk2Bella: not sure I understand what you're trying to insinuate.
I still need help with my inquiry pls, I have sent emails to the consulate and no response yet. I am being required to submit the PR document of someone in Germany, I didn't add anyone from germany as a reference. |

I thought it was only the Lagos consulate that was experiencing this delay Where did you apply from? KillerBeauty: Did mine 23rd of October. Still no response from them yet and I didn't even apply from Nigeria. It's December already and I'm sure they will soon go for Christmas holiday break. |

Have you guys noticed that the consulate hasn’t issued any visas lately? I know several people who had their interviews since September and still haven’t gotten any updates. Processing after the interview used to take about 4–6 weeks, so I’m starting to wonder if something changed or if they’ve closed for the year. Orhorho: No response yet |

I don't think you missed anything in your application, I used a student copy, and I know a couple people that did too So they might accept student transcripts for some applications but require official transcripts for others If there's anything I've learned in this whole process, it's that everything is handled on a case by case basis, what applies to one person might not apply to another Tifay: Guys what transcript document did you upload on ZAB for the recognition thing?
I used and uploaded the student copy that we have but looks like they are asking for the university one in the response they sent today. I really am not clear on it.
The response asked for " Official Transcript of Records" in the ZAB message box. I dont know if the school will even respond at this point. How did you guys go about it. This is month 3 and they finally respond with this request?.
What did you guys upload from the school? or what did you guys send to them that made the request easy for y'all. Can anyone who's sucessfully gotten the ZAB thing give me a step by step, maybe something was missed in the application we made |

Did my interview in June, but there's been some back and forth regarding my application, so I can’t say for sure what stage it’s currently at However, if you're reading this and you've gotten your visa, please can you share the timeline between interview and visa, so others can know what to expect. Thanks. Laryfrosh: Have you gotten a date for interview? |

If so when did you apply and how long did it take?
Thank you in advance for your response |

Good morning,
I have a question about ZAB.
From my experience, most schools don’t typically give students their official transcripts; instead, they send them directly to the requesting body. Students usually only have access to the student copy, which lists all coursework.
For those who have applied for and received the Statement of Comparability from ZAB, did your school have to send the official transcript directly (by post or email), or was the student copy uploaded in the application form sufficient? |

You cannot make any changes while you're on the waiting list, once you receive the invitation to submit you'll be able to make changes then
I'm familiar with the email. On your portal you'll see a prompt asking you to indicate whether you still want to remain on the waiting list, that's what that email is for. They usually send it every month from the day you joined the waiting list.

Hey @Haliimmaa, you mentioned here that you had to wait 6 hours before your interview and you had a hard time going through the interview, please can you shed more light on why this was the case Haliimmaa: The physical appointment did not go bad. Only downside is that I had to wait 6 hours before my interview so I was very very exhausted and had a hard time going through the interview. Regardless I think it went well.
- Go with all your original documents according to the list that will be provided after the preliminary review. - Make sure you take a passport according to the german visa passport requirements. - You can pay for the visa by cash or card(via a pos there). If you're paying cash, make sure that its in denominations of 500 and 1000 naira notes. Other denominations will be rejected. It's safer to go with a card. - You wont be allowed in with your bag so just come with the file containing your documents. Your phone will also be turned off and put in a locker so be mentally prepared. - Be ready to walk them through your work experience.
Again, make sure all your documents are complete and are original copies.
When i got to the end of my waiting period, I was indeed asked to submit for preliminary review but I'm not sure if i was able to edit before submission. I think its safer to leave the application as is because while in preliminary review, you'll get emails if they need you to change a document or correct something in which case you'll have the opportunity to make corrections. Good luck guys and wish me luck.
Also, take a prepaid envelope with you as that is what they'll use to send your documents and passport back to you. You can get one at a DHL outlet. Just tell them what you want to do and you'll be given a form to fill. Please call to confirm which outlet gives out those envelopes as not all of them do. |

Even though you apply for the opportunity card with your degree, you don’t have to find a job that matches your degree exactly. What matters is whether: - You’re qualified for the role based on your skills and work experience. - The employer is willing to hire you based on those qualifications. - The job is classified as skilled and eligible for a Skilled Worker Residence Permit or a Blue Card Exceptions: A Blue Card might require an educational background in the field, and people who want to work in regulated fields (medicine, law, etc) also require an educational background VerbalAssassin: Hi everyone, Thanks for all the helpful info shared here!
I’m looking into the Chancenkarte, but I have a bit of a dilemma. I have a B.Sc in Animal and Environmental Biology (Zoology), but I switched careers and have been working in Marketing for the past 5 years.
I understand that I could apply through the skilled worker route (once I get ZAB recognition, since my exact degree isn’t listed), but I’m wondering: would I be expected to find a job related to my degree?
Or would it make more sense to go the points-based route, since it allows me to count my work experience and better reflects my current career path? |

Hello Haliimmaa, how did your physical appointment go? Would appreciate if you could share any tips or details that might help us prepare better. I also want to ask, when you got to the end of your waiting period, were you asked to submit for preliminary review (and were you able to edit your application before submission), or did you automatically receive the feedback from the preliminary review at that point? Haliimmaa: Yes, I got an appointment date for the 28th of this month.
I need help with getting a health insurance policy. Do you have any ideas how I can go about that? |
