At the time of passport receipt, travel date was already in the past. Nonetheless, the visa was granted.

Although, when I submitted it was supposed to take 10 days but it's now it takes 30 days (may be due to Olympics)

Please , which airline is affordable right now.
The price of TAAG airline is rock bottom cheap but the reviews are horrible.

The one email I got was this outcome.
I took my time to dot every “i” and cross every “t”
So there was no in between request or mail.
I never sent any mail to them, neither did they send to me.
The only one I got was “the outcome “.

Do you mean when you submitted applications, you did get email to upload documents?
Or you mean you sent a reminder email after application to request status of evisa?

How can I know the outcome without opening my file? I don't want to open it at the centre because I wouldn't be able to stop myself from crying if denied and it's embarrassing. I plan on just collecting it and giving it to my mum to open it.

Sometimes some of your own documents are added with the passport on return.
Sometimes, it could be a letter telling you a date to come and present yourself physically after your return.

Sounds a bit funny though....I haven't heard of size of envelop indicating if visa granted or not but i know when the passport comes with a letter then very likely visa not granted.

You didn’t give them any reason to believe you will not violate your visa terms since you have a sister there, it’s easy to just stay back- Softlanding.
You have to prove stronger ties at home than that of France.
What are the things that would make you come back home?
Show it to the Visa officer.

I was refused a 3-month short stay visa to visit my sister in France. The refusal was based on, "There are reasonable doubts to your intention to leave the territory of the Member states before the visa expires". What are some common mistakes that lead to this type of refusal?

You get this reason when they don’t want to give you and have no reason to hold you.
That you were denied doesn’t mean your application was not good.
But you could have applied as tourist am rather than self employed with no tax returns.

They would be allowed to board. Nigerian immigration has nothing to do with it. Its the airline that clarifies. But they don't get into destination country until the day the visa is valid. And that's what counts.

Not correct i think. This is a more sophiscated route. This person is traveling to Europe, let them visit the immigration department of the airport to verify

Yes. you can board.
You are touching that country when the visa starts.
If your visa expires on Aug 8th and you leave a country France same day , arriving Nigeria a day or 2 after… you won’t be termed an overstayer in another country by your immigration.

But my departure from Abuja to France is on the 14th of July in the night, tho I’ll arrive on the 15th of July

All these your travel history doesn’t concern Schengen.
To them it is no history.
Now, why are you applying for business visa?
1/2 times?
Has the programme not ended? Or it has t started at all and you were applying ahead?
Visual artist? You don’t have any ties , and it’s easy for you to stay put over there.
If the program can’t be attended virtually, you have to a thorough convincing for France to allow go physically.
I never saw tax details in all documents you said you submitted? And you have a company? France?

Has anyone recently applied for Business visa (short stay) here?

I have applied twice this past month and was denied. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I submitted every necessary documents from CAC, payslip, statement of account, invitation letter, introduction letter, my CV and portfolio being a visual artist, and many online publications of my works, but still refused.

I am wondering what could be wrong. I have a travel history to Cote d'ivoire, Cayman Islands, Lebanon, UK transit visa.

I am confused why I'm being denied, even after providing sufficient informations and documents about the program I'm going to attend.

It’s not about you thinking.
If you don’t pay taxes in your country which made your company or the company you are working for inactive then you aren’t law abiding.
It’s simple.
Think whatever, that’s the simple logic.

Can an inactive CAC lead to a France visa being refused?

Denying someone visa doesn’t necessarily have to be the fault of the applicant.
Hence sometimes a situation gets upturned during appeal or review.
1. It depends on the mood of the officer.
2. Season and how much time the officer has to spare. (I know consulates that are claiming to be under staffed, how is that the applicant’s business? Are we not paying for the services?)
3. If an officer says you do not satisfy him… it doesn’t mean the application isn’t satisfactory.
It’s his or her own personal problem.
That’s why Italy would deny someone and same person would apply immiediately to France and get approved.
4. Finally, as much as you think our country is wobbled, some of these officers are as corrupt as your politicians.
Who do you think visa racketeers remit to?
They have contacts within those walls.

Hello, they can deny anyone a visa. Even if the person serves 100 years in a foreign country, I have seen someone who served as a military personnel on short service in the US. He was denied a visa too.

We should always ring it to our ears, visa approvals are at the discretion of the consular.

A top tennis player and the team from Nigeria was denied france visas too last year despite an official request.

We should ask our government to do better.

People get approval in one day… in this high season.
As in , passport returned to them in one working day.
Approval has nothing to do with how fast or late they update or return passport.
Just pray for favour and approval.

I've been through the whole thread for like 5hrs. I noticed people who get notified that their passport is ready early get denied

Both actually.
If your application goes beyond date and they need to see a new reservation .
It will be requested.
Canceling not to lose money or otherwise won’t affect your application.

Your flight cancellation can’t affect a thing.
They knew it wasn’t wise to book before getting your visa , they just need to see your plans.

In Nigeria, they can’t keep up with 5days until the end o of the Olympics.
1. Most Nigerians wants to use that opportunity to enter into Europe.
2. Most Nigerians believe France is the easiest Schengen consulate
3. Most Nigerians prefer the modus operandi of not having to face a visa officer not been called for unnecessary stories afterwards.
4. If the Ambassador wasn’t changed earlier in the year, it would have been pretty much easier. But the new one definitely has his own modus operandi etc
Until the Olympics is ended , it will keep on like that.
Of course they are cashing out too.

This is the busiest season for France RN. Olympics starts in exactly 3weeks.

It’s quite normal.
People get decisions in 3/5days.
