The fact is, Nigeria is a poor nation. We do not earn enough money. How this is a defence of government is strange to me, infact it even shows how useless the government is, that it cannot make enough money for the nation despite being capable of doing so.

Besides, the drugs are very expensive, and we have a healthcare ssytem that struggles with far more issues like infectious diseases and a growing non communicable disease problem

Which means the government has to raise more money. But they haven't and thus they are useless

but are you aware that our National Assembly members and political appointees are one of the most paid in Africa and the world at large.

Nigeria as a nation does not tax enough of its gdp or earn enough revenue (before we even talk about the massive looting that happens) to finance good enough healthcare. World class healthcare. So, we take aid from foreign countries. And it is the same thing in every subsaharan african country, including even South Africa.
