What Ipob touts and wailers didn't know is that this man just exonerated Buhari and the Economy team from this naira downfall. That is Buhari is right on not devaluing the Naira and our economic team aren't incompetent. The Naira downfall is purely artificial.

..... but government has all constitutional powers to handle all governance issues, economy inclusive?

Uba, a patriotic Nigerian.

is it about reaping where he did not sow or about bringing solution to our current predicaments? He knows the free fall of the naira is artificial and spoke out, that is why those behind it soft pedaled and the naira came down. I believe it is better to try something new since he is putting up his asset and asking for a no pay job. Afterall some people believed Buhari when he said he will equal the naira with dollar

I didn't understand that guy's post at all.

People should know that it takes real hard work and experience for an Igbo man to rise to this level without significant government help. Uba knows the scarcity is artificial, and I believe he knows those behind it and they also know him. So his statement has put some fear in them because they know what he's capable of.

PMB should set aside political affiliations and consult this man nicodemusly . He's not even asking for salary. Kini big deal?

Chief financial consultant? Nope! A billionaire does not a chief financial consultant make. If it were so maybe Bill Gates, Carlos Slim, Buffet and the rest would head financial parastatals in their various countries.

Again, why is he offering his services based on that position? Hmmm, more to this than meets the eye. I see a suave business move in the works.

This is not taking the credit away from him if he can achieve what he's being saying he can. He should be applauded for that ( that is if he isn't part of those that created the scenario in the first instance in an effort to actualise what is being discussed in every circle now).

the position ubah is asking for is a sensitive one which cannot be materialize he should have know that he cannot reap in where he did not sow imagine ubah magic has started working how? as if the president give him go ahead? must he praise himself when is not even yet allow to do the job? and besides is there is no any other way he could use to see the president in private instead of social media? if he want to play gamble he should seek for another place else.naira is coming back i salute mr president courage kudos to you sir.

The stupidity in this post is alarming. It is this type of caveman thinking that has held this country back for so many years. Someone is proposing to help save the economy; someone whose antecedents has been helping Nigeria out of dire straits like this. Even his bold claim seem to have begun to affect the value of the naira in the parallel market and whether or not that is what is actually happening is moot. You haven't even asked the authorities to listen to his proposal and see how practical it is. The best u can come up with is this drivel that can only be likened to what a monkey would pen down. U need serious reorientation.

Do you really think Uba is begging the FG?? I don't think you know who UBA is (ask Forbes) . This is the problem with Nigerians, everyone was crying we are finished and someone has a solution that works and you stone him. Uba doesn't need peanuts from your Federal government his trying to save broke asses like you and you should be thankful.

Don't be so quick to disparage what "they teach you at business school".

Most of the economic models propounded today originated from these same business schools via intelligent instructors who worked out the theories, conceptualised them and implemented them in the known world.

Now, some of these models were product of economic situations in the world that needed fixing. None just happened out of thin air. Practical economic happenings informed learned minds poring over the issue thus birthing most of the economic models you have today and they do work as they are being tinkered with everyday in the.light of extant developments.

There is a great sense in what this man is saying. I think Buhari should draw him near his government and litmus test his idea. rather than encouraging monopoly like the way dangote owns the whole economy we should give him a chance.
Naira was made to fall willing by govt uba, it was not by mistake or imcompetence it was out of will by govt. Do you know even budget alone will strengthen naira if they pass it but they will not pass because they know there is NO TIME anyway!

He need to tell us how long the N200/$ rate will be sustained. Maybe he have some $ in reserve to control the market for that price for few days, after which supply will dip and the rate increased again.

No...I think he knows the cabals doing this. If the presidency will yield to his request, he will fish them out and help formulate forex policy to stop their illicit, criminal activities. As a business man, a man with street-knowledge...been in business since 15 yrs, he knows what's going on in the street market that those in government and administration don't know.

the monopoly is what he is looking for and no one is going to allow him that, price is not down just because of his statement, people from neighbouring countries have also flood the market with dollars, use the google. has the federal government give him the audience? no.

Ifeanyi Ubah is smarter than y'all think, he has something to gain,if not now,but in the nearest future.
The guy don read 48 laws of power tire..
All he is doing is for personal reasons, market forces will stabilise the naira against the dollar on the long run.

I love his patriotism if it's real...but I will also like him to say what he wants in return cos it's definitely not for free..either he's doing that to cover something..I just have the feeling it's not for free

When he saved us from fuel scarcity; flooded the market with fuel at reduced rate forcing all other marketers to do the same....it wasn't real? SMH...say no to tribalism!

How Nigerians are so easily swayed?? Mr. Ubah has not performed any magic and has not been invited by the government of the day to provide any solution so why credit him with Naira recovery. The problem is that most of us are blinded with hatred for this government or exhausted our patience with government that we fail to get the message from the beginning - shun the dollar. I recently entered a PC shop and noticed how scanty the place was, on my enquiry, I was told they couldn't bring in more systems 'at this time' because they'll be too expensive. Our destiny lies in our hands. Stop the dollar craze. I still believe this government is the best thing to happen to Nigeria, especially now. Three years from now everyone will agree. #Pray for Nigeria #buynairatogrownaira

In this case, you are like a daibetic patient and Ubah, your Dr. He is only asking to help you manage your fragile health. So if you turn down his offer to help you just because of that hatred you have for his tribe, then i weep at your stup*d*ty and woes.

I am not disparaging it, even if I may have sounded so. But some people just quote theories from textbooks to real situations whether they are applicable or not.
