Bongadu: Communisim does it the other way. It pretends that everyhting is cheap, and for a while, it works. But pretty soon, many communist countries find themselves taking loans because at the end, maintaining an equitable society is an expensive thing. That means at the end they are in heavy debt( DDR, USSR, Many others), or severe austerity to enable them pay back their debts (Romania.) All communist countries collapsed in debt. The ones that survived were countries like china and vietnam which at one point quickly adopted captialist practices. Other communist countries like North Korea are on life support from china. Because the sad thing is people are greedy. Capitalism works by incetivising that greed. And people can start seeing benefits. Like china. China went from a percapita GDP that was behind most African counries in the early 1970's...it was that bad...to the stronk nation it is today. Russia went from long queues for food in the 1980's to full shelves because they adopted capitalism when the USSR fell. Communist countries were also exploitative. Disagree with the state, you get sent to a gulag to provide slave labor for whatever major project the Leader is building. |
