Small small countries in the Carribean & south America and a few in North America are selling passports to people all over the world, whose situation are far worse.
Anyone rich enough from a 3rd world country with poor foreign relations and terrible Passport mobility, should come and buy.... Nigeria sits into this perfectly.

I just googled these countries that I'm always seeing their ads everywhere (St Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda etc.), and noticed they are barely nothing per say... Just that their passport situation isn't as terrible as most African countries' passports

That was how Guobe stated that a Nigerian lawyer who went to South Korea was surprised that the country was so advanced. Typical arrogant and ignorant people in West Africa who queue for petrol as a part-time activity comment that countries with strong passports are barely different from those in the third world. If they are so barely different, how come their passports are stronger?

Although, it is an old article, I am not surprised Botswana declined Dangote's entry. Countries in Southern Africa are wary of Nigerian passport holders. And this happened to Dangote o. Then imagine the layman or woman. Shey one lady even narrated on Nairaland how she was harassed when she arrived at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Namibia and I think got deported sef. shocked

All countries sell passports. The difference is just the price.

You are not actually buying the passport, you are onlyinvesting the money into their economy.

How much Better is Uruguay or Peru, or These other numerous south American countries?
I know they are better, but not too much.
This isn't a travel post per say, it's a discussion in Global capitalism, politics and business dynamics...

Any country that has a visa free status to wealthier nations is obviously better off economically (GDP per capita) and has a high rate of human development (HDIndices). Grenada is way better off than Gabon as Uruguay is better off than Ghana. Please check the economies and standard of living of these countries. There is a lot of ignorance about South America by many Nigerians, especially young Nigerians. In visa free policies, wealthier nations don't offer unfettered access to poorer countries. Dangote would not allow me into his house, but allow Innonson. That is how visa free access works.

Thankfully and hopefully, with time, I and my Oga would show pictorial and statistical evidence to demystify such notions. As a start: please go through this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/7484940/lived-visited-over-30-countries

Also, one metric I developed to assess countries' economic development is if its passport enjoys visa free access to the US: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visa-waiver-program.html Uruguay would soon be included, all things being equal. Another metric as developed by my Oga is the number of jobs the country has per day as shown by LinkedIn. Go to LinkedIn and search for jobs today between Uruguay and Ghana. Then tell me what you see. Also, compare Brazil vs Nigeria.

if you can afford to invest 150k in those countries and get a passport it shows that you are well to do and wont over stay visa in any top country. Unlike the common man from Nigeria that has casted many countries like Cambodia, UAE, Indonesia, South Africa, Kenya, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Italy, China etc πŸ˜…
