Over the years, tenants have passed through a number of challenges in the hands of landlords.
From verbal abuses to pronouncement of ridiculous laws, the story has always been pathetic.
Recently, a post on Nairaland narrated how a landlord brought out a mat in the middle of the night to make sure that a tenant does not use his generator.

Let me say however, that some landlords are really fantastic. They're doing well!
Oin to the wicked landlords who do everything possible to frustrate their tenants.

While reading the story and remembering other similar or more serious stories, a few thoughts just crossed my mind.

1. Is there even an association for tenants in Nigeria? If not, I hereby move a motion for the formation of TAN (Tenants Association of Nigeria). The association will bring together people who are renting any form of property - land, building (office, shop, residential).
2. The name "Landlord" should be abolished. Henceforth, they should be referred to as "owners". For instance, "house owner", "land owner".
