are you nomal? What is the total population of SA ? You are comparing 60m with over 200m people

You are forgetting that a huge chunk of that 200m lives in the impoverished decrepit north where most people have never even seen dstv beforeπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

In SA, they pay as you go, in Nigeria, it's not same.

By your post it sounds to be cheaper in Nigeria, but when you consider the fact that after the subscription, you end up not enjoying what you paid for due to no power in Nigeria, then you will realize that it is a waste of money subscribing to DSTV in Nigeria.

How does the minimum wage in the country concern a private company in it's price setting strategies?

You should understand that, the value is different.

Also, the laws in south Africa will not allow the people to pay and get ripped by the multichoice company.
What is ripped
They set price
You either afford or continue watching nta.

You can watch only NTA for free. They didn't force guns on your head to subscribe.

It is DSTV that will approve minimum wage for your country?

The diesel they use to run their company in Nigeria is ten times cheaper than in Southafrica?

Kenya even pays more for DSTV subscription than Nigeria.
even the nta is not free of govt decide to enforce tv license

Is multi choice ripping off Nigerians ?
Let's even assume that most people are on premium subscription (which definitely is not the case), multi choice will just be getting a measily $26 per subscriber every month!!!!

Multi choice is not at fault here , rather it is the government that is making nigeria bad for business
The govt is made up of Nigerians not Mongolians

You wonder why people cant Switch?
The answer is in your Story: 300k+
and also
1. is Free to Air a stable Alternative? (I hear it goes of and On for long periods) kindly share your Experience
2. I hear it involves Massive Dishes. That means it can only be installed in YOUR Property or BUILDING. it can't work for Tenants
3. it too Capital intensive

am i right from your experience?

1. The planet rotates, so does satelites and it's temporary. If it turns off (which only happens for specific channel & not the entire channels), you just need to relocate your dish to fix this. Also bad weather affects your signals so also for paid ones.

2. False! It's shared with my sons in their rooms and working fine.

3. I don't know what you mean here. If you mean cost, the reason mine was that expensive or cheap then was because i bought 3 dishes as well as 3 decoders hooked to 3 different satelites which resulted to over 500+ stable channels combined.

I have the Unique sat decoder..
The satellite I'm using shows mostly Arab channels like MBC 1-5 and some Ghanaian channels..very few English channels..no documentary, no news nothing.
How can I tune into those satellites with 300+ channels?
Well, i don't know much about the whole thing but my son did. However, i'll tell you the little i know. In total, your channel depends on the satelite you're connected to. Also depends on weather condition and correct placement of your dish.

We have 3 decoders
1.ViewSAT HD FTA
2. Unique SAT Ultra HD
3. Digicom 9000 HD

Our major satelites
1. MultiTV (Astra2F) - 242 channels
2. MegaChoice - 180 channels
3. EutelSAT16A - 300 channels

Our backup satelites are
1. Intelsat 20
2. NigComsat
3. Galaxy 19

To change your satelite, there's a small device placed at the tip of your dish, that's the satelite hook. I have six of that and i've listed them above. I don't know what they're called but i'll ask my son when he comes
