We are done here as I have seen your reasoning.
My prayers is that someone else will tell you same thing when they revoke an investment you borrowed money to start just because they have the right. It’s easier to say when you or your parents are not involved.

@Ikaeniyan0 and his ronu bigot bingos come and hear your brother o

Watch as they call this one Omoale now.

You people don't know what you are doing to yourselves in Lagos state because of fear of last election results

In 30years to come you people will start to rip the seed of mass boycotting from investors local and international alike, non indigenes relocating elsewhere and Lagos will be a ghost land.

The loan for that road is based on resources in Igbo land AND Biafra.

Without them, Tinubu will not see loan money to use to be constituting nuisance to legitimate hardworking business men.

You are not very smart. How many people do you see around the world traveling to places where there is no big body of water like an Ocean on vacation? In the US, more people would rather travel to Florida and California on the coast than travel to Idaho or Wyoming.
Even the Landmark guys know this simple logic, that is why he bought the land close to the beach. The beach is the biggest draw for his business, but unfortunately for him, he does not own the beach nor did he get permission from any govt to use the beach forever. He was allowed to use it while there was no overriding public interest.
Without the water, Landmark is just another hotel, nothing more. Use your brain. People travel all over the world to come to Florida, Santorini, Antyla, Agadir, California, and Zanzibar just for the Ocean views. I have been to them all.

Now that the govt wants to construct a road that will serve millions of people, it's only common sense to vacate the land.
BTW, is Landmark the only beach in that area? Many other beaches like Atican, Oniru, and others are also affected.

The Lagos state govt should revoke his license and kick him out for trying to incite people against the govt. He's a very dumb businessman, he has damaged the landmark brand forever. I can't imagine visiting his business any longer. Let him take it somewhere else.
That arafat1, na typical unexposed person, no too blame am.

Just imagine the nonsense he purportedly scribbled.

Oga travel blogger, Landmark is a private business and even the demolition didn't affect his major buildings. What they lack direct access to is the beach front, which doesn't belong to anyone but the public...

I condemn the FG & Alausa for allowing private individuals and businesses encroach the beach front in the first place. I think they really deserve the negative publicity they're getting.
What is a beach resort without access to the beach front? Is the government that granted him the license to build the beach resort not aware of the coastal highway plan? Why did the abandone the old design of the coastal highway and decided to encroach on businesses and communities people suffered to build without any assistance from the government? Later they go abroad begging for FDI.. Bunch of unserious jockers. They are building new coastal highway while the current highways from West to East and North are in a terrible state. Why not fix the existing road infrastructure and make sure it’s in good condition before starting another elephant project which everyone knows will be abandoned or not be completed in the next 50 years.. Useless idiots calling themselves leaders and supporters.

There were people who lost properties to Lagos Ibadan expressway, there were people who lost properties to 3rd mainland bridge construction
there were people who lost property to the various rail projects all over the country

The public good is greater than any individual business interest

Gvt wont go and create new land to build public infrastructure

Tayo aina doesn't know what he talking about, those people sponsors his youtube channel, so he cant speak ill of them even though they are breaking the law.

In Europe, and America or even south africa, you can not build on a property just because you bought the land, you need to have the right permit and government approved documents.

Landmark isn't a tourist destination. Landmark is just like a small beach side resort for those who can afford it. and lets not talk about the overpriced and exploiting restaurants and cafe along that oniru beach shorelines

How many tourist visit landmark? majority of customers in landmark are Nigerians

it unfortunate that some people have spined these stuff into a tribal issue but along that shores, lot of restaurants, shops and also shanties will also be destroyed.

if we take into consideration, the effort the lagos and federal government took to reclaim most of that land from the ocean, they spent billions of naira doing that, but then how can you now claim ownership of something that has a master plan and the government have spent billions of dollars in doing.

Have you ever thought why there are no beach front house properties in Nigeria? it is because of the landuse acts and the claim that from 250M from the beach shore, the government owns it.

so why spin the news into something tribal, when you know you are breaking the land use act and also the government master plan

Landmark provided certificate of occupancy issued by Lagos state government. We all are aware that this road was readjusted to pass through the beach, why not leave for tourism? Why not adjust it like Umahi confirmed today that he adjusted his plan some places? What is good for Obi is also good for Musa.

Those countries you are proud of have rules that can never be manipulated. Here people buy lands without verifying the plans associated with that land in future.

If they have the right paper let them sue for claims.

I have been to Oniru beach and i have seen Landmark with my eyes. The road behind that Landmark is very wide, i believe it can even contain 8 lanes. Landmark and Oniru beach could have been saved, but then they will still need to demolish some structures further up that road.

Anyways....

With all these your epistle, why is the government paying a compensation of millions of dollars to them around that place, if those lands were acquired illegally? Can any government pay compensation on illegal structures demolished?

You're one of the problems of your generation. Do have a rethink.

Government is only paying compensation to those who have valid documents and whose land got encroached on.

Government isn't paying anyone who encroached on the sea shores.

Also the compensation for those who were affected is around 1,420,751.40 USD ( 2 Billion naira) not millions of dollars

I don't agree with Mr Aina statements!
Is he saying the project isn't worth it- the Coastal Highways Projects or that because he is a 'Tourist Expert' Nigeria-should not develop again or would the 'Cost of destruction ' scares away would be Investors- for a New Project like this? No,rather More Investors would come to Nigeria, once the place is taking shape!
I can see more Tourist attractions,
-More Hotels,
-More Beautiful Cities, coming up along the Coastal Areas,
more transportation - rail and roads,
- more Economic transformation along 9- States, especially the Southern States and than God,it is likened to Irish and USA - Coastal Highways!
- more real Estates that is comparable to that of US and Europe, etc!
We should not be selfish in promoting our tribal gigost because of an individual but let's look at the benefits of Public at large!
Federal Govt should be magnanimous in Paying those whose properties have been illegally encroached and settled the matter on a win- win basis!
You can see or you can build?

A Certificate of Occupancy shall be revoked for overriding public interest in accordance with the provisions of section 28 of The Land Use Act, and the Holder of The right of occupancy shall be compensated accordingly.

So why all the noise about much ado about nothing, Ndi igbos always complaining, playing the victim.

The coastal road will bring in way more tourism than just one business. Imagine how many coastal businesses will spring up along the whole coast including international standard hotels and other investments.

Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), is an important document issued by the state government in Nigeria that shows you own a piece of land or property. Research could have saved you from this trash.
