They are probably those selling stuff in traffic on the island. It might be shared apartment of 2/3 per room. I guess it was when Tinubu came to the estate during Ramadan festival that it was discovered, since DSS will do a thorough check of entry and exit around the community. Police no fit claim not to know as there is a police station very close by with routine patrol. Btw, who is the landlord 1 Like |

BeeBeeOoh: These Government people don't know that this is huge uselessness sentence on them. I see the TV antennas and the TVs at night and the squatters cooking, this has been there for years. How can they wake up and suddenly discover these people? Where were the government officials when they started building and have now turned it into a village of some sorts? This has been there since mid 2000s. There is somebody in Government whose Job it is to ensure this does not happen, that person has not been queried or fired and they come to the media to shamelessly show their incompetence and lack of commonsense and lack of capacity to be shamed. IF you ask anyone of them why they are just discovering the shanty town, they will tell you it was before they assumed office or power. Government is a cult in Nigeria especially this Lagos state. If you drill down, you will find there is a reason behind this eviction and there is a big man or big people who are behind it. While it is wrong to allow people live in such open and public spaces I think the government is scoring cheap points with the predicament of these people. I can also bet the poor victims will be looted in the name of enforcement. 1 Like |

They should interrogate the squatters who collects the rents from them. They should arrest the landlord and fine him heavily That's a whole lots of money he collects annually. And those boys that rents d place must be involved in several criminal activities happening around that environment even up to 3mb robberies if a car breaks down on d bridge. That is what makes it easy and reasonable for dem to paying that much under d bridge 1 Like |

Gangster1ms: Lol.... but how can you hate who feeds you. I mean without the Igbos being part of Nigeria, how do you think your insane life would have been now. MORAL LESSON!! Do not bite the hands that feeds you, hence, you will go hungry and DIE! Hi Gangster1, kindly disregard the earlier quote, as it wasn't meant for you, rather for one hater in the comment section. Apologies. |

duro4chang: Someone that can afford to rent a shanty room of 250,000 is suffering? You see, why people choose to rent such place for that amount to them is affordable because in that Dolphin Estate a room there will be going for more than 250,000, if there is at all Probably must of them work or do business around there then decide to stay close to avoid the traffic and high cost of transportation But one thing I can't say for sure is the ones that have turned the place to criminal hide out or that are using the place for one illegal purpose or the other. 1 Like |

Who were they paying the 'rent' to? Why will someone who can afford to 250k/annum choose to live under the bridge? |

If this is true that some people pay 250,000 naira yearly to stay under the bridge then there's a problem with their medulla. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad situation.
