COMPAQ:

Those are very, very rare cases and those individuals are at genius level. Stop peddling rare occurrences as the norm.

I entered OSU at 17, graduated at 22 and I have been working for over 20years. My life didn't end because I didn't graduate at 19!!

Where are we rushing too.
Go to some medical schools today you will find out that 40% of the Doctors graduate between the age of 20 and 22.
You are just deceiving yourself, in my daughters school in federal unity school, 7 of the 10 best students in SS1D are 13 years.
Most kids around me enter medical school @14years and 15years .
Some of you will continue to live in fools paradise.
You are here complaining, but still allow your 10years kids destroying themselves in the internet but interested in attacking people that invest similar time in quality education in mathematics etc.
For your information, my 13year old kid in SS1D is the best in her class and will write GCE this December and Jamb next April and be in medical school @ 14years.
Keep complaining and crying

So much anger about my little opinion. Who lit your fuse?. You raise few exceptions and immediately made them facts. I am not in anyway condeming any parent, if you feel guilty then that's on you. I only said students should be somewhat emotionally and psychologically mature albeit their intelligence before they get sent to some unis. Don't pretend our unis are paradise, they are not. If you feel your child is 8 and and meet the above, then have at it. But don't confuse your opinion as facts and avoid getting emotional so easily.

So much pain and bitterness in your heart. Why brandishing your comment over all those that differ from yours. Just state your opinion and go away.

Sounds reasonable and credible to set the record straight before this personal counsel of the Honourable Minister creates serious problems in the university admission process if it is mistaken for the law.

Even if FG wants to experiment with a new age limit, I do not think it should be immediately implemented because the candidates have sat for the exam and chosen their preferred university based on the age limit set by their university of choice. Also, it can't be done without enacting a law to that effect and not without encroaching on the autonomy of the universities.

This comment by the Senate and last week's Punch editorial raised valid points that make such idea a misplaced priority so it's necessary for the Honourable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman , to drop the idea and let the university fix its own age limit but shouldn't be less than 16 years. According to the Head of JAMB, Prof Oloyede, the law that empowers JAMB doesn't give it power to determine age limit for admission by universities.

All these Hausa quota Professors don't know that the world is moving at a fast pace right now. Trying to impose Alamajiri standards on the entire nation. Nice job from Senate

Better at 16...

Bullied and intimidated because you overstepped your boundary. You slapped and harassed the culprits when you could have been more civil with them by handing them over to the appropriate authority.
paedophile! How can you say better at 16?

This is a response to the original post in case you chose not to see it. Better my child is allowed to go to university at 16...I also began my university journey at 16. What will they be doing between when they finish and when they clock 18? You can keep your children till 18 but mine are smart enough to know their left from right even at their tender ages now.

The other part of my post under your quote is my response to you. You have no right to slap and harass those people you said you caught...it's not within your power as a class rep to discipline them! There's a CSO, there's students ' affairs division and even the students disciplinary committee that they can face eventually. However, we've had cases of 400, 500L students doing all sorts of things in the classrooms... a girl that'll be nasty will be, even if got into university at 21!

A 21 year old woman knows when to say no but a 16 year old girl would be carried away by infatuation.
