People patronise the business because of the beach, you take away the beach, you’ve killed the business. Government and everyone knows that, the government that gave the license to establish that type of business there also knows that. Why will a serious government that has a plan to build a coastal highway on a certain area and still give businesses license to establish there? Is that not wickedness?

No doubt, they messed up... The beach is definitely important to the business, but all hope isn't lost. The major investment (being the buildings) are still valid and can still be used for hospitality, anything is possible. All the same, I blame the government.

He's very shallow for that comment. Obviously, he is shortsighted and can't see the bigger picture.

The coastal road will bring in way more tourism than just one business. Imagine how many coastal businesses will spring up along the whole coast including international standard hotels and other investments.

Why are Nigerians always keen on building hotels?

Well, maybe that’s what made america the world power

Absolute nonsense, I live in VGC na Igbo full the estate pass, when it comes to talking big time money, there is no discrimination in Lagos State.

More so, The Federal Government wants the land for overriding public interest, so be it, so shall it be.

Absolute nonsense how? The minister Umahi confirmed today when he compensated some individuals, that FG twisted the plan because of some buildings. Fact-check or ask google. I deal with facts not what you think.

In China or the US, they would have figured out a way to salvage that iconic property. Could have been a high-rise lengthy flyover or a cut-off route

I live in the US and we pay full price for everything.
You surely dont know how developed countries work, you think its by dong babi alaa and begging a broke govt to give you this and that for free

How much are your colleagues in Canada paying for University education, how much did you pay for the same degree?

But govt must continue to do this and that for you, what are you doing for govt? Na govt say make dem born you?

the coastal highway is an international highway that will connect Nigeria through Calabar to Cameron, this is good for the development of Nigeria.

Government multitask because the government is made up of different departments and agencies.

Just because the government need to solve security does it mean that other areas wont be developed or infrastructures wont be built.

And the Coastal Highway is necessary because there is presently no road from Calabar to Cameroon.. Or there is no road to Calabar/Cameroon from anywhere in Nigeria? grin

So now, the road is no longer for tourism, but for international highway to Cameroon? grin

Anyway will sort it out. Just that government is creating a lot of instability within the business environment with their policy instabilities. You’ll want to establish a business but afraid that government will wake up the next and talk another thing. All I know is that whatever goes around comes around.

Please stop hallucinating in your obliviousness, when or where did I say that coastal tourism is the reason, why a Coastal road should be built?

What kind of ignorance in a fragment of your imagination are you purporting to exhibit?

Lagos State probably gave the landmark a certificate of occupancy in 2007 for Federal Government Land.

He better just collect his compensation & move on quietly, he can also sue the Lagos State Government in a Federal High Court.

Is it him that determines where the road will run?

So he even knew it was land earmarked for a road, and he built a resort there?

Mssheww.

Can he try that in UK or America?

Plus Tayo Aina needs to SHUT THE HELL UP, and go live wherever he wants to live, and stop trying to use Nigeria to shine.

Idiot too stupid and full of himself to see the big picture or read the legal provisions around the issue.

No, Tayo Aina, in those places you mentioned with your inferiority complex, you cannot build on a land you know has been earmarked for a public road, and then when time comes to build the road, you start instructing the govt where the road should pass through.

You can never try that in those countries you worship, Mr Aina.

He even mentioned Middle East.

Dem no born you well to try such there.

You did not understand or read the quote.

The person who quoted said that the owner of Landmark was aware of the road route and bought the land presumably safe in the knowledge that the road would run BEHIND his property. It was only this administration that altered the location of the road to run THROUGH his property.

Quite obvious that you have a comprehension problem, if that quote of commonsense1967 is what you are basing your assertion on.
Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by Litmus: 4:36pm On May 01
Positive Nigeria content used to be Tayo Aina's bread and butter untill he discovered the power of portraying Nigeria negatively. Nigeria still feeds him but from the de-marketing of Nigeria perspective. If you're a Nigerian or black person, there is an entire world of Africans out there waiting to embrace, love and support you if you specialise in disrespecting and insulting Nigeria. This is however gradually changing as Nigeria slowly surmounts all the pushback and obstacles that comes from being a dynamic black nation on a planet that very much fights this.

Tayo has a superficially likable quality. He reminds me of those individuals that you get to really like but in time you begin to see that they lack the debt of character worthy of investment. The type that wouldn't be reliable friends when you most need them.

Did you or did you not agree with what he said there about the highway being beneficial to tourism?

Or you think that this forum is your village meeting where you can bamboozle everyone with back-and-forth?

That is the problem right there, there is no room for assumptions, when it comes to land matters.

The first time I watched this guy without seeing his name, I thought he was an Igbo guy by his look, head shape and full wholly hair. I've observed Yoruba that look like Igbo people reason and behave just like Igbo people. Even agabadox know this fact, why they also attack them and deny them from voting in the last election. I truly believe if you test the DNA of these real Yorubas/Omulabis, you will find out that they are more related to Igbo and share nothing with Agbadox, who invaded Yorubaland from from Dahomey and Togo. They don't even look alike. Omulabis need to investigate this.

All of you will suffer it. Lagos has been existing and flourishing when all of your lands are villages.

Louis Philip Ojukwu the father of Emeka Ojukwu left Nnewi with nothing and became very rich in Lagos. Most of you are economic immigrants in Lagos.

As for the unknown boy called Tayo Aina is suffering from Juvenile delinquency. He doesn't know anything. He shouldn't return to Lagos again.

If Atlantic Ocean had submerged VI, Lekki and Ajah will anobody be talking about Landmark today? Is Landmark the only property affected in that place? Some people fought battles and invested heavily to salvage VI, Lekki and Ajah to make it attractive today.

He is a small boy. He will regret that statement later in life.

You are a joker, US pay subsidy for energy even till now that they are facing Ukraine crises.
Production of agricultural products like Corn, soybeans, rice, sorghum etc are heavily subsidized.
Not sure where you get your news.
And for Canada, education is subsidized, my kids don’t pay school fees until university and they have education loan readily available at their disposal incase I don’t have money or want to pay for them. And don’t forget I am not international students so tuition is very low for Canadians and most importantly, they don’t demolish people businesses as they have master plan from day one.

This country is a joke. And the funniest part is that some set of people will be happy with all these demolitions, thinking they're doing a certain tribe, not knowing they're doing themselve. Go on twitter, you'll see some people cheering that misplaced priority of a project, saying Igbos should go to their region and invest, they don't want Igbos investment in Lagos bla, bla, bla. But what they don't know is that other investors who are not Igbos are also watching and taking notes.

I just they laugh those people because by the time they realise what they doing to themselves, I'll be like when Zimbabweans began chasing white people and their investments out of their lands in the 1980's thinking they were doing the oyinbos, only for the country to suffer from one of the worst economic crisis known to mankind a few years later grin

Lastly as a SS babe, this is for those of you saying "God bless people of SS & SW", deceiving yourselves, if Nigerian divides today and for some reason, SS are not able to get their own country, We would rather go with the Igbos than join ourselves with the same corrupt people that have been responsible for our sufferings and the sufferings of Nigeria at large since 1960. Make una continue to dey deceive unaselves, we know our true friends and know our true enemies.

Shalom ✌️

Until you suffer over and over again just for being a Nigerian, you wouldn't understand the frustration that made him say that.

Thank God for death. One day, all the people holding Nigeria back would surely be gone. May be they would be hope for whatever remains. Most youths would NEVER get leadership opportunity (on a national scale) in their lifetime.

US has the right to demolish personal property for govt infrastructure in a process called Eminent Domain
In US your schools get funded mainly by the property taxes paid by the home owners. The higher your property value, the more funding your school gets
The cost for you to get a Degree in Nigerian university and compare it to what your Canadian friends spent on their same degree and wonder if its not Nigerian govt subsidizing it
