https://twitter.com/Dlaureate/status/1564326943088074752?t=bj76Arzm27HOH1obNVyKNw&s=19

Are trenches braids of 5k better than 25k braids? Do you like paying 25k for braids just for the comfort/ AC enjoyment etc?

Ladies,I need your answer.

Ah! Trenches braids for the win here o! I have to be honest and say I have never been to a posh salon to make my braids and it's because I'm a broke babe, not because I prefer trenches. Like someone replied on Twitter, the workers/stylists that make your hair at these posh places are the same people at Yaba market.
Me I have sha never missed with my braids. Every braid is a hit and it has always been trenches braids. The most expensive braids I have ever done was this January and it cost 7k for everything.

Posh salons pay crazy rent and electricity bills so they have to get their money back somehow.
At the end of the day, it's the "hand" of the braider sha. Some trenches hairdressers will "what I ordered vs what I got" you. I like that some of them now know how to use YouTube sha.

The only advantage of posh salon to me is that I don't have to pick out the attachments myself, someone else will do it.
It largely depends on how neat the hairdressers hand is.
My friend and coursemate helps me with my braids, my cost for the one she did for me a month ago was about 5500, including attachments.
And it was very neat.
There's a posh saloon near my house and the lady there would've collected about 10k for what my friend did minus attachments, and she's incredibly rude and lousy lipsrsealed
I agree with sisitito on this one.

In hindsight, the term 'trenches braids' is very disrespectful and demeaning. A trench is a ditch or a depression around a property. Ascribing the weaves, braids and stylists that middle income earners patronize to 'trenches' is very distasteful and I will no longer be part of that conversation. All these Twitter children like to start, and trend nonsense.

Folake4u, no offence intended.

I have been on low cut almost all my life.
The only time I did braid, I spent 4500.
I bought the attachment for 3k and I paid the lady 1500.

The hair was so nice. I am not even lying.
When I got to school, people were asking me where I made the hair. I told them to come to Mushin grin

All those posh salons are just hype. Though, there is comfort and the likes

It doesn't rule out the fact that I won't patronize them when I have money and I decide to start making my hair.

I can't endure the pain that comes with making of hair cry

I was thinking about it today. It's crazy how most beauty standards or practices are synonymous to pain. And it felt so fking weird putting up with all of that when I was younger. Especially with that kiko hairstyle. Omo.

Never again sha... any thing I have to put or wear on my body that would cause me significant discomfort, and if it is something I can voluntarily do without, count me out, please.

You are so right. People gossip about others because certain information about the person is out for all to see. Even the ones who are very private, people would still gossip about them.

Thing is, you can't be in that kind of gathering and not be forced to say a few things but it's to be very mindful of what you say so it doesn't backfire. Learnt this the hard way in secondary school.

My friend said my hair looks like those male trap musicians. I used spring twist. It is an old one that I used previously. I plan getting passion twist for my next hairdo.

grin Maybe it is the "foreknowledge" but looking at it, it does actually look similar to A$AP Rocky and Quavo hairstyles (pic below for illustration). The dude/dudette got it.

I cannot tell a passion from a spring twist lipsrsealed, but it's all good. Still braids too for the next hairstyle? I plan on fixing mine- been wanting to for a while now.

Hahahaha. After she said it, I took a good look and agreed with her.

Yea, they both look alike (spring and passion twist), but I can tell them apart because I have used both. Maybe it takes some getting used to.

I would have loved to fix too, just not sure I can deal with not being able to reach my scalp. Let me stick to braids and wigs.

I love yours. Very beautiful.

Yes mine are real. From Costco grocery store.
My favorite flowers usually come from Trader Joe’s because they are so big and cheap and usually last very long.

Do you prefer the fake ones because they don’t die?

Yes of course cheesy. I bought orchids and some other unfamiliar flowers - all artificial. They don’t die and I do not have to maintain them, asides cleaning the vase and flowers.

Ah I see. I like your style . Orchids are so classy.

but I have commitment issues and always feel like switching it up.

But real orchids last long too (like a month) without much maintenance.

Folake4u,

Congratulations on conquering law school. Reading through your law school diary, I could relate to most of your experiences. If there's one thing I vowed to myself then while I was preparing for the bar exams, its to not put myself under undue pressure. I slept at the normal time, woke up, read in my room (never visited the library all through law school), still attended a party three weeks to bar exams and left the rest for God to handle. I pray that concerning your exams, God will perfect everything.

One more thing, when its time for call to bar, post pictures for us to see. T for thanks.

In other news, it is not me sanwo olu will frustrate in this Lagos.

Thank you very much Ma'am Tee. kiss

Lmao. I'm telling you oh. I panicked initially that I had not read before, I did crash reading for two weeks especially Corporate Law. undecided
But later,I became chill and was very strategic in my reading.
I made sure I slept at least 4hrs sha, cos anything short of that, my body will crash.
Some people didn't sleep throughout the exams and I'm like!!! shocked shocked Can't be me sha.

I thought I was weird!!! grin I also have not visited the library since I came here. I didn't even know how the interiors looked like until my friend snapped inside and showed me.
I read on my bed and reading table throughout.

Lmao. I went on a one week vacation with my roommate three weeks(August beginning) to exam too!!!! grin grin
I needed that rest abeg.

Amen oh. A huge Amen to that prayer.
NLS surprised us this year. Them nor bring past questions for our set. Corporate Law especially. No Foreign Participation, Incorporated Trustees, Mergers and Acquisition etc questions. Them nor even bring CAC form make we fill.
People cried blood.
Civil was worse. No Writ of summons, no drafting of Motions, no statement of claim or any. Jeez!
People wailed in this one.

So far, Criminal Litigation, Property Law Practice, and Professional Ethics exam was quite far.

cheesy cheesy Okay I'd post Call to Bar pictures because of you.

You people staying in that Lagos are trying. I can't deal with the madness in that state. grin
