Quarter of the year is going to end in a day or two from now, and everyone in Nigeria understand the economy hardship Nigerians are going through especially salary earners. Salary earners are going through lots due to high cost of living because salary barely meet up our daily needs.

However, amidst of this economy a lot of people are still doing exploit and still have little saving from their salaries, so we shouldn't be left behind when the year ends with no achievement.

As for me I had manage to save 350k since January this year till this April ending. I earn 250k monthly, and I must tell you with a wife and one child, it had not been easy to save. But saving and making good financial plans is a must no matter the economy.

You don't have to lie to prove a point... There is no way a married man is able to save 35% of his 4 months salary while having a child...

What if the wife earns close to him..... If that's not the case then I'm definitely with you

It amazes me when people talk like this. You have to save to be able to buy any asset.
IAmHim1:
Saving is bullshit

Inflation is busy eating your money that you have in your account and you are happy being cheated

Bag of rice rose from 30 k to 70k

Do you think it was because rice became more ricefull or something
Or did they use gold sack to cover the rice

So what happened

The price of food stuff DID NOT GO UP...IT WAS THE VALUE OF MONEY THAT WENT DOWN

too many money in the economy makes it Chase after few goods cus Nigeria doesn't produce local goods...and now the government plan to put more money in the economy by increasing minimum wage

The few goods in the economy acts like a mop for the excess money flowing in the economy

I explained it here:

https://www.nairaland.com/8049624/wealth-series-pt-1-inflation

Your savings is in serious trouble

BUT YOU ARE STILL BUSY SAVING

LOOK For an asset you can purchase that will appreciate with the inflation rate...that's called HEDGING against inflation

If you want to make a profit from the asset, the asset must be sold past the inflation rate ...that's if you want to make profits

But sadly enough, I don't know any asset In Nigeria that one can invest in to beat inflation and STILL MAK PROFITS

Your money is losing value sitting in your account daily

fractional reserve banking + central banks creating money out of thin air

Imagine those that were saving to buy bag of cement at the end of the year...bad of cement then was #4500

NOW ITS #11000

imagine the look on their face when they discover they would have to save more to buy THE SAME BAG OF CEMENT

SAVING IS BULLSHIT

SAVING IS A SCAM
