In a heartbreaking turn of events, a Nigerian father mourns the loss of his 9-year-old daughter allegedly due to the malfunctioning of the Access Bank mobile app.

The Tragic Incident, reported by an individual identified as PIDOMNIGERIA, underscored the devastating consequences of technological failures in critical moments.

According to the distraught father, whose identity remained undisclosed, the inability to transfer funds using the Access Bank mobile app directly contributed to his daughter’s demise. The child, who was in urgent need of medical attention, was admitted to an emergency unit at a local hospital. Tragically, she was left unattended as her parent grappled with the financial constraints imposed by the malfunctioning app.

The father, described as a single dad working offshore, recounted his harrowing experience, stating, “Failure of Access Bank @myaccessbank app to function since yesterday has caused him to lose his 9-year-old daughter in a medical emergency.” His anguish and frustration were palpable, echoing the sentiments of many who have faced similar challenges with the bank’s app reliability.

Expressing his grief, the father lamented the recurrent issues plaguing the Access Bank mobile app, condemning the institution’s lack of accountability and explanation for the frequent disruptions. “Access Bank is a complete shit bank. They always have issues with their bank app without any explanation every now and then,” he asserted.

As the family mourns the loss of their beloved daughter, questions linger about the accountability of financial institutions in ensuring the seamless functioning of essential services, especially during emergencies.

Access Bank was yet to respond to the allegations or provide clarification regarding the reported app malfunction at press time, meanwhile, the grieving father and his family grapple with the devastating aftermath of this preventable tragedy.

If not Access Bank, Zenith Bank app then it might be Eco Bank.
Same reason the government want to kill OPay and Moniepoint because they’re dominating the banking sectors right now. The FG now comes up with Crypto users are laundering money through OPay and Moniepoint as if even those laundering money uses those account.

Nonsense banks all over Nigeria with zero upgrade and modifications

What kind of hospital waits for payment before acting in an emergency? A truly horrible country we live in.

I know Nigerian hospitals, very wicked things. They won't answer you without huge deposit.

Misplaced blaming.

It is not the fault of the bank. Hospitals in Nigeria are human abattoirs.

Someone narrated his experience in teaching hospital in Portharcourt.

He was told to hire a generator and fill it with fuel so they can power the ICU for the patient he brought.

I've always said it.. Until something drastic is done about this nonsense, our banks will not take its customers serious enough to tender quality services....
How can a bank network fail more than 50 times in one year

Now it has cost a life... The man should sue them for 70bn..... Better they fold up than to keep frustrating Nigerians.... It's not enough to open branches everywhere... Upgrade your fvcikin systems to render quality services!!!

Some of these banks are very stupid with their useless apps. If you can't use a functional app, don't even advertise it to your customers. I am a victim of this inefficiency of these bank apps. Annoyingly, sometimes the app won't fail until at the very last step of the transfer after entering all relevant information. After clicking the last button, the uselesss app will come up with one stupid message indicating the transaction wasn't successful. And in some cases, you get debited. angry

Where was the man when Nigeria suffered during the naira crush? So he didn’t have Opay or other digital banks.

He must be a foolish or stingy man.

Painful.

But then aren't there friends, acquaintances and relatives who could stand in the gap at such a critical situation?

...and what manner of medics do we have? How can they be comfortable watching a dieing patient without care because deposit has not been made? Whatever happens to saving the live first.

Since the hospital staffs could see the bank app was encountering network issues, why didn’t they commence treatment on the kid immediately and after collect the money once the network is back to normal ?

An average Nigerian is just too wicked and without empathy.

Apart from their customer service , access bank has one of the worst banking services in the country . You won't get alert when due and constant app issues .
If not for these new generation banks like opay and the likes , most of these banks would have poorer services than this .

The blame is on the hospital for their gross negligence. If I was the child's father, I'd file a suit against the hospital and demand it's closure and jail time for the doctors and nurses who perpetrated this negligence instead of wasting time on access bank.
May the child's soul rest in peace. What a wicked world full of wicked humans.

Very sad. The Hospital should have at least start something even if it's just to stabilize the child.

Ot is sad thou that he lost is daughter but bank app failing shouldn't have been enough reason for them(the hospital) to deny treating the daughter and was there no other form of payment method in place such as pos machine.
