Nigerian Politicians Are Very Insane, They Kill Dreams – Richard Branson The rich international businessman, Richard Branson, has lambasted the crop of leaders we have in Nigeria for their high level greed which, according to him, is killing big brands wishing to do business with the government of the country, for the growth of Nigeria’s economy. oyb: meanwhile jona and co keep up with the BS of interested foreign investors. . . Don't mind them. Before we type now, they will say we hate GEJ. Well, sorry O but I hate incompetence especially when combined with arrogance and generally give people who promote it a hard time. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala cannot do much when half of her time is spent explaining action plans to her boss like 1-2-3 and A-B-C. He that should lead is being led. Oh well! Enjoy Fresh Air! 2 Likes |

alot of people saw it coming one guy said they will soon become disvirgin nigeria unless you are ready to do heavy settling and compromise on your standards (telcos are an example - their service could be better, but they have all the right people in their pockets - ditto for oil and gas - DPR is nothing more than a organization of money grubbing know nothing govt bureaucrats and a great place to get paid big money for doing absolutely nothing) 1 Like |

So true Mr Branson ..So true. A nation where : 1.Customs authority would try ANY MEANS NECESSARY to frustrate those importing goods LEGALLY (Take innoson and ibeto for example) 2.Banks would rather loan to the already ESTABLISHED billionaires like Jimoh Ibrahim , Dangote , Otedola etc while the up and coming business men would have to "squeeze water out of a piece of stone " to fund their business , 3.A nation where the politicians are quick to accuse the youths of being lazy while refusing to provide employment opportunities and small scale credit facilities for self empowerment . 4.A nation where Foreign companies are milked dry by our senators before they establish their companies in Nigeria and in return this foreign companies would milk nigerians dry before we use their services (MTN , AIRTEL , ETISALAT) etc . 5. A nation where by business men like Dangote would use their political influence to monopolize the industrial sector of Nigeria by suppressing competition (Dangote vs Ibeto for example). 6.It takes a week or 2 to register a business name in Malaysia and South Korea but here in Nigeria you would have to wait for close to 4months (If you are LUCKY ) The list goes on and on .Mr Branson is no saint but i commend him for being truthful and vocal on issues such as these . Maybe now our government would revoke his passport so he wouldn't be able to get into the country , The same way they had problems with Hilary Clinton when she condemned our governments corruption . Like the bible says rebuke a fool and he becomes your enemy . 22 Likes |

maclatunji: Please, do yourself a favor and stop sounding like an illiterate. It's not fashionable anymore. The mess he's talking about actually started during the Obasanjo administration and reached its height in the Yar'Adua tenure. That was when Virgin left and the airline was renamed. Your stup!dity just can't let you put two and two together. Always quick to blame GEJ, which I'm not exactly against. But if you don't want to sound like a knobhead, at least try verifying things before striking that keyboard like a day care child. 7 Likes |

Re: Richard Branson- Nigerian Politicians Are Insane, & Dream Killers by Nobody: 11:40am On Jul 29, 2012 |
Richard Branson is right but he is sounding emotional about business gone bad. The OBJ administration was marred by corruption. I will say that Richard Branson wasnt patient enough to allow another administration come in so he can table his grievances before pulling out. After all, other Airlines foreign and local Airlines are still doing business and get Return on their investments. My advice is, if you wanna do business in Nigeria, become Nigerian in your business methodologies. 2 Likes |

gej is part of the pdp machinery so you can stop all this empty bs of it was in obj's time the clear fact of the matter is that the current way aviation is run, the only way a company can break even is by cutting corners hence dana etal we have analysed to death the dubious antecedents of vulcan wetincall the fact of the matter is that this same story plays out all over nigeria, which is why serious minded organizations give this country a wide berth with our huge market, why have the likes of toyota not set up a factory here? yes power is an issue (bypassed by using running your factory with gas turbine generators) , but the far more pressing issue is the business environment and the culture of settling at every turn - and the uncertainty about the next administration. 1 Like |
