Google Fiber – The Future Of Broadband Internet - 1000mb/ps by Crixtien: 1:48pm On Jul 30, 2012
Google recently joined the league of internet service providers by launching its broadband internet service. The new service is called Google fiber, and is currently touted to be the future of broadband internet connectivity. Google has long stressed the need for faster internet as the basis for efficient internet computing which has now been translated into action.

Slow internet has been identified by researchers as one aspect of our computing life causing us more and more stress on a daily basis.

According to Google, At 1000 Mb (1 gigabit) per second, Google fiber is 100 times faster than today's average internet speed, allowing you to get what you want instantaneously. You no longer have to wait on things buffering: everything will be ready to go when you are. So whether you are video chatting, uploading family videos, or playing your favorite online games, all you need to do is click and you're there.

Google fiber boasts of incredible speed that will guarantee HD movie download in 10 seconds or less. Google Fiber is still at it's experimental stage and will come not just as a broadband internet service, but also bundled with TV service.

Google fiber has been rolled out in some neighborhoods around Kansas city in kansas and Missouri US. These cities have been divided into small communities Google refers to as “fiberhoods.” They promised to install only where there’s enough interest for the service. This service costs $70 per month to subscribers.

Seeing the evolution of the Internet represented in three different stages. It started with Dial-Up, grew with Broadband -- and with Google Fiber acting as the benchmark for the future.

Imagine the possibility of having Google fiber broadband internet deployed in countries with poor internet speed like Nigeria. Truly, the possibilities are endless. There is no doubt in my mind that it will surely push up the efficiency of internet based businesses which will most likely translate to better ROI.

The prospect of having Google fiber, broadband internet doesn't fascinate me just because it will make the world a better place, but because I wrote this post with an internet speed fluctuating between 0.24kbps to 3.18kb up-speed and 0.00kbps to 4.63kbps down-speed.

Watch the demonstration video.
