For the past two weeks France has been boiling ,no thanks to the controversial labour law which stipulates that employers of labour can sack their youth employees within two years of employment without prior notice or reasons.Youths have stood their ground that the law will rob them of their future and they have held the government to ransom.
I asked myself:is this possible in Nigeria?Unarguably,Nigerian youths are the worst victims of misrule and government inadequacies. Most youths in Nigeria do not have hope of a secured future,we now have army of unemployed youths and our government is unconcerned, their preoccupation is "third term agenda",instead of brainstorming on policies and issues that will lift Nigeria from the economic and social quagmire we find ourselves. In the words of late Bola Ige:It is only a matter of time before a tender nerve snaps.God bless Nigeria

The lesson I have learned is that welfarism doesn't work. It doesn't work under socialism, communism, fascism and even under democracy it doesn't work. Government should give citizens the freedom to create their own prosperity or else they will be found wanting because even the most efficient government cannot outperform a free and fair market.
