Hi nairalanders, I just noticed that everyone has started selling off their toyota used camry cars mostly 07/08 models, does this means there is some kind of issues with this cars? |

I've noticed same too, but then i dont know, for some reason, i'm not worried.....coz i believe so much in Camry. Lol. Waiting to hear if there are any issues tho. The one that has been bugging me for a long time is 2006-2008 Passat & Jetta. At one point, the forum was flooded with these cars for sale at ridiculous(in my view) amounts, some going as low as 1.4, 1.5million...same as a toks 2003/04 corolla costs!! Though i read later that the FSI engines have issues, dont know how true that is as per user experience in Nigeria. Also, Honda Civic 2006-2008 as well. That one sef don flood dis forum tire. 1.2million, 1.3million!! This one too, heard/read one funny explanatn that the engine block cracks easily or smthn like that. (& well, it turns to paperweight at high speeds....typical of a japanese 1.8litre engine powered car tho) Corrolla naija used wey people dey find tire now isnt so common.lol |

Thanks to everyone that responded to this thread. After I wrote this message here, I decided to investigate to find out why everyone is selling their 2007/2008 used car. I have one 2008 that I wanted to buy from this owner, but when I asked him if there is anything needed to change on the car, he said "NO" then I gave my brother the owner's car number to call him and he should introduce himself as "An officer" which he did and guess what?, the seller told my brother that the same 2008 camry has fault that he will change the "shock absorber" this made me to loose interest on the car yesterday because the man lied to me. Now this is what I found out yesterday again regarding why people are selling this camry. Take a look at this site and see how many complaint other people have reported about these same car and you will see other problems with this camry. www.carproblemzoo.com/toyota/camry/ pls I need someone that can post that here to avoid other people visiting the site. So my advice is this, Do Not Buy Any Of This Car! PLS WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS HONDA CRV 2006 MODEL? Is it a goodd car to maintain? 1 Like

Most of the cars for common man are good to drive for 4-5 years without issue after that you will be wasting your time with mechanic but if you know how to fix it then you can drive it for 20 years which is an indication that life rough for you. |

was at d garage repairing my Baby boy yesterday..i noticed 6 clean Camrys der 4 repairs...some wer nt even registered...smh 4 camrys...i beta go 4 Honda Anaconda aka Evil spirit....it hardly has issues.. |

Honda anaconda not having issues?? Not too sure of that o. Read that d brake pads wear off easily, & then it seems the 2008, 2009, 2010 have low ground clearance compared to the camry. Tho it seems the car was raised a bit in the 2011, 2012 models. But happily tho, it seems Honda finally got the Accord gearbox right a bit ....from the 2006 upwards sef. 3 Likes |

Some people just can't put one and one together before concluding especially in naija. Someone gave an excuse of not buying one because it has some shock absorber problem or shocks need replaced and to him that's too much work for a 5yrs old car on Nigerian road. Anyway, you guys and complainants can sell and condem all the 07/08 Camry in Nigeria but guess what? It's still rated one of the best and most sold cars in the US and people upgrade after few yrs of using one car because they don't have time to fix any issue big or small. I remember when Honda Hala, passat/bora, babyboy and co was driving people mad! After few complain, naija don shit to camrys and sienna! Does that mean they don't have their own faults? Or does that mean people don't buy and enjoy those ones we run from? If you ask me I'll say get so E legs first before buying a shoe! Naija roads contribute to killing this cars! It's a car not a molded rod! Even human die! I bought that same Camry as salvage ( fender, bumper, & door replaced)with less than 20k miles, fixed and inspected it and have traveled half the US with it with no single problem! Most of you dont even do oil change after 3000 miles yet you want you car to last forever! 9 Likes |

Is there even any part or state in Nigeria that is up to 1000 miles away from another state? People rent this cars on daily bases and travel all over America! NY to LA is over 2000 miles drive (3 days) and you won't even blink driving a Camry there! Am not a Toyota dealer or rep but Toyotas are good cars period! 2 Likes |

Pls dont kock me I beg of you.I just got a toyota cressida with a v6 for a give away price.too cheap to be mentioned here cos it was used by a very popular man in my area who had 4 cars of hihger grade.The car had no engine problem except I had to do a minor body work.What do u guys think about cressida though an old school as some of my friends teased me. |

In opinion, It is because the car is not fun to drive especially the I4 engines and the engine does not last long and its quite expensive too. |
