1 Peter 1: 6-7
“So be truly glad. There is a wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold- though you faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world”

During the past Olympic Games, we watched the top athletes of the world compete. Some accomplished their ultimate goals of winning medals. We showered them with admiration for a job well done. However, prior to this, most of these athletes have gone thru vigorous training programs. Some had to go thru career threaten injuries. But thru it all, they came out victorious.
The same goes with our spiritual journey in life. We need to go thru spiritual purification, which can be via hardship, persecution and rejection. Gold has to be tested by fire before it becomes the end product.
We should keep our eyes on the prize which is the crown of praise, glory and honour, resulting in the salvation of our soul.
