N5000 is a little more than £20, is much less than $100, €100 so why is our largest denomination less than $10? Coins are necessary in any economy for small regular transactions, such as bus fares, taxi fares, buying sweets and newspapers all over the world. Why should Nigeria be different? In the 1970's taxi was 10 kobo in Benin, nobody complained about using coins then. |
