After the calls and stress, Airtel has retired browsing with Opera while on their network for unknown reasons. I had to check it to make sure it is actually working.
I called their customer Saree and they still gave me the same crap about Opera not compactable with their network even when I told them that mine has started working.
What is your experience?

Maybe because they are aware it compresses data and it's allowing users use their data plan for too long. So business wise, it's not making sense to them. IMO though.

that should be the reason,cos i had similar problem browsing with my airtel line early this year. I spoke with the customer care rep, she told me they don't advice or even allow customer to use operamini app. Why? Ans= as you said.
But if you use operamini version 3, you can browse with your airtel line.

Its true. Just got online now. Airtel needs to apologise to us.

yeah..mine started working this morning---all this while i have been using the UC browser, when opera could not work on AIRTEL network.
I like UC browser- for now I will stick to it.it"s cool

This is good news, i dumped my airtel line because of this blockage, funny enough i have ucweb and other browsing apps on my phone but i don't feel comfortable using them cos im addicted to opera mini. Lemme go and try now
