Easy puzzle

He first took the goat across the river knowing that the lion can't eat yam. He came back to carry the lion to the other end and carry back the goat with him. After that, he carried the yam and took it across the river leaving the goat behind.

Finally, he came back to carry the goat and that was how he took the three across the river.
