My system Started behaving strange two days ago. It's always slow when performing operations and hangs at-times showing not responding. Even when I want to shut down with no program running it still tells me "Not Responding" until I have to click on "end now". I use Win XP Pro with fir-wall on for most applications. I also have a running Avast home edition Antivirus. I am suspecting this could be a virus. What should I Do? |

I don't think it's the antivirus. . . . . Or better still move this thred to the computer section. . . . |

@andy Same happen to me with the same avast. What happen 1.i discovered that virus enter my system 2.i normally use 7z or winzip to see virus on my system(i discovered it by myself) 3.I have to format my system. 4.My system at work have the same problem but i can't format because of coy policies.Last saturday the system crash and thank god i've backup some valuable data when i see how my home pc do. |

@andy uninstall avast install AVG or KASPERSKY or MCAFEE 2007 n scan ur system den lastly defragment ur hard disk dat shud take kia of it, if not hmmmm oh boy na format b dat oH  |

Crap Cleaner aka CCleaner.exe cleans a lotta crap from ur pc, also use TuneUP Utilities. search for these tools on the net, as far as nairaland is concerned, i cant drop links for it here. the tuneup utilities isn't free, but the ccleaner.exe is free so use google for tht one. Cheers! P.S: always keep ur pc clean, i clean up my pc everyday just as i do my room. nothing unwanted stays for 24hours. but this thread shoulda been moved  |
