It is surprising to hear that Police have not yet received legal directive from the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation in respect of the investigation into the $620,000 bribery scandal involving former Chairman, House Committee on Fuel Subsidy Management probe, Farouk Lawan, and Chairman, Zenon Oil & Gas, Femi Otedola.

Also, contrary to a report that the duo of Lawan and Boniface Emenalo were interrogated by the STF on Wednesday, a police source said no such thing happened.

A source in the Special Task Force that investigated the bribery scandal disclosed that the STF had not got any report from the AGF or the Director of Public Prosecution since the case file was sent to the AGF after the completion of its probe.

“Since we concluded investigations and sent the case file to the Attorney-General, we have yet to hear from them; even the government-appointed prosecutor has yet to get back to us on his plans and we are therefore surprised to read that we interrogated Lawan and Emenalo when we have concluded investigations. We’re only waiting for the suspects to be taken to court,” he said.

The source added that the investigating team is waiting to hear from the government and Chief Gbenga Awomolo, the prosecutor hired by them (FG) to prosecute the matter before any action could be taken against Farouk.

Yes he is(though not to the extent we demand he shld). The Transparency International recently released report states dat 9ja made d 3rd highest improvement on d scale according to businessday, cos of some improvements in processes and blocking of some financial loopholes in d system by d president and finance minister..this is wot is actuali expectd since dis admin's processes is RELATIVELY more transparent and open dan other admins, and Transparency usuali has an inverse relationship wit Corruption. Wot has increasd is the reporting(real or imagined), deep interests and monitoring of corruption cases by d public, which is very good cos we still hv a looooong way to go as a nation in dis respect(as the TI report and commonsense tell us)
