Well, I hope the aviation minister is taking note of such issues so she doesn't hastily compare air expenses from Ghana with Nigeria AGAIN. It is clearly very expensive for airlines to operate in Nigeria. Our local airlines are already crumbling under the weight of the inefficiencies in the aviation sector. I don't think this is BA's fault so they shouldn't be asked to leave. Afterall, BA is the only airline you can consistently rely on to take you to Nigeria with no stopovers, long stories about no fuel etc. As an employer, BA has a responsibility to the cabin and crew it takes to Nigeria. If our inefficiencies as a country makes their landing time inconvenient for us as Nigerians then we should be speaking to the Government not BA. |

We will set up a committee to look into it. |

The reference in the report to US independence day holidays on July 4th is puzzling. We are in September and it will be October in about a week's time. I don't know if I am missing something here? |

Opoki: We will set up a committee to look into it.A high-powered committee. |

It's obvious Nairaland doesn't have news to report, hence the Ned to dig up old news of July for us. I was going to even say that Naijapals seems to be more up to date and up to speed than nairaland... And what's this nonsense of banning peeps for airing their views? That's what you get for making almost everyone a moderator ![]() |

chaircover: London to Abuja flights now land at 04:35am. This to me must make life rather difficult for the passengers. What about noise nuisance for people that live under the flight path that early in the morning when the planes land; I doubt that BA will be allowed to fly into heathrow that early and I am also surprised that there has been no reaction over this. |

Allowing flight to land at the wrong time of the night is entirely the FOOLISH decisions taken by the NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT without the thought of the Nigerian citizens or residence around the airport. It's a situation of HOW YOU LAY YOUR BED SO YOU SHALL SLEEP ON IT, it's always sad to hear all this type of things....Looking at the situation on ground, there's what they called SAFETY which NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT have no idea and this come first This Airline are not the likes of ARIK , AIR NIGERIA OR BELLVIEW..this are world class airline that have reputation and the lives of their passengers and crew members are at the top of their priority not just MONEY MONEY MONEY. Remember SAFETY COMES FIRST. |

HOW MANY FLIGHTS LAND IN ABUJA AT NITE. IT CANT BE MORE THAN 3 A DAY. SO THE PEOPLE LIVING IN THE AREA WHO WAKE UP FROM THE NOISE SHOULD JUST PRETEND THAT A MOSQUITO BIT THEM AND THEY ARE SCRATCHING IT. |

Below is the latest arrival/departure time of certain international flights into JFK International Airport.. If you go live near airport, then dont complain about noise..

chaircover: THE nation’s security challenge is taking its toll on the aviation sector as foreign airlines’ crew no longer night-stop in Abuja after operating to the area. They now pass the night in Lagos or in Accra. |

what hurts me is that our government just go around running around in cirlces and people keep paying lip service.... ruben abati says that the presidents frequent journeys abroad is bring about a lot of FDI to the country ... yet the same firms are running to ghana even those that are coming are charging us 5 times the amount to execute projects because of the instability and the fact that the cost of doing business in Nigeria has doubled.... |
