my car select gear 1 nd 2 and then stop selecting sometimes whenever it happens i have to stop the car first before it start working normal again ,
my mechanics said they have to change the gear selector ,
pls advice me what to do

I assume by now, the check engine light should be on. The first thing you should do is to take your vehicle to a good auto shop for scanning and diagnosis. This will let you know exactly what is wrong with the car.
